I AM the Football Star

Chapter 620: Chapter 162: The New Italian Seven Sisters! (Part 3)

Substitute goalkeeper Jalard made several sensational saves, maintaining a decent form.

Camihong collected an assist.

Lam took advantage of the chaos during a corner kick and scored.

Overall, this was an incredibly easy match.

On December 7th, in the fifteenth round of Serie B, San Remo challenged Cosenza.

In this match, Sogel and Bai Zhami took a rest.

Fernandez was on fire, scoring in consecutive games.

Lu Yang had one goal and one assist, Morici also had an assist.

They easily defeated Cosenza 2-0, finally finding the feeling of victory.

On December 9th, the final round of the Europa League group stage.

San Remo, Ness, Zenit, and Red Bull had points of 10, 7, 4, and 6 respectively.

San Remo had already advanced early.

In contrast, Red Bull, Ness, and Zenit were still competing for the second spot.

Ness faced San Remo, Red Bull faced Zenit.

However, when San Remo’s lineup was announced, both Zenit and Red Bull were jumping mad.

Because on San Remo’s side, core players like Lu Yang, Morici, Bernulin, and Palacios were rested!

Wasn’t this giving a victory to Ness?

Something fishy is going on!

Absolutely something fishy!

Zenit’s head coach said, ”I don’t understand why San Remo would field such a starting lineup; this is a disgrace to football!”

Red Bull’s coach said, ”This behavior is too vile, seriously affecting the principle of fair play! I even suspect San Remo and Ness have some hidden agreement!”

Of course, the two coaches soon received warnings, telling them to stop saying such negative things, and also mentioning that they had no evidence.

San Remo’s response was: ”Lu Yang has a finger fracture and needs final rest to prepare for the knockout stage.”

”Bernulin and Palacios are too old and physically exhausted, needing rest.”

”Morici has a new girlfriend and is too worn out, needing rest.”

Zenit and Red Bull fans almost cried in anger after hearing this explanation.

Lu Yang’s finger fracture needs rest? But he was participating in a match just a week ago; didn’t that finger fracture need rest then?

Bernulin being too old? He’s famously evergreen in football, the older he gets the better his form, what rest does he need!

At least Morici’s explanation seems credible.

Poor Momo, who was quickly sold by the team.

Moreover, San Remo’s response was indeed unassailable, leading everyone to focus on Morici being too worn out in the end.

Soon, the news that Morici was physically unfit spread throughout all of Europe.

He hasn’t been in a relationship for long, and now he’s not okay?

Lu Yang and Sofia have been together for almost two years, haven’t they? And he’s still doing great!

In this match, Zenit fought fiercely, surprisingly winning 2-1 against Red Bull, raising their points to seven, surpassing Red Bull’s six.

Unfortunately, Ness beat San Remo 3-1, reaching ten points and advancing together with San Remo.

However, both teams had one win and one loss against each other, and the scores were also 3-1, so their head-to-head record was tied.

Finally, comparing group goal difference, San Remo had a few more, securing the top spot.

And Ness advanced in second place in the group.

Here, Sogel deserves some praise.

If he hadn’t seized the cross from Camihong to score, making it 3-1 instead of 3-0 for San Remo, San Remo would have become second in the group.

Although both first and second place in the group advance, the first place always has some advantages.

Thus, the Europa League group stage ended.

And the day before, the Champions League group stage also concluded.

In the Champions League, traditional giants like Real Madrid, Bayern, Barça, AC Milan, Manchester United, and Juventus all successfully advanced, and even second-tier powerhouses like Florence, Atletico Madrid, Rome, Paris Saint-Germain, and Dortmund also made it to the group stage, with few upsets this year.

This year, Serie A did remarkably well, with all four Champions League teams advancing to the knockout stage, setting a record for Serie A!

But few upsets don’t mean there were none!

The elite Premier League powerhouse Arsenal unexpectedly fell to the Europa League, leaving people sighing.

The aftermath of selling their captain is starting to show.

It seems that Arsenal’s Tsar Olic, bought for those Twenty-eight million euros, hasn’t fully integrated into the team yet.

And one wonders what would have happened if the team, according to Mr. Winter’s plan, had acquired Lu Yang and Morici instead.

In the Europa League, Serie A continued to shine.

Inter Milan, San Remo, and Lazio all advanced to the knockout stage.

Among them, both San Remo and Lazio advanced as group winners, while Inter Milan relied on Talista’s two last-minute winners to edge through as runners-up.

Inter fans were not satisfied with this.

They believed Talista’s performance was far from as good as Gutierrez’s, leading to such a thrilling advancement for Inter.

Talista, not one to indulge fans, immediately responded, saying, why have I carried Inter with two last-minute winners into the knockout stage, and yet you expect more from me?

In fact, there were not many faults to find in Talista’s performance.

At least his performance this year in Serie A and the Europa League absolutely lived up to his transfer fee of eighteen million and salary of two million.

He has scored eight goals and provided four assists in fifteen Serie A matches so far, which is quite efficient.

By the end of the season, he is likely to have scored more than twenty goals.

While there is certainly a gap with Gutierrez, do you not consider Gutierrez’s price?

Inter spent little but expect much, it’s somewhat naive.

And... Inter’s performance this year wasn’t great, affected by Gutierrez’s departure, causing instability within the team. Their midfield core, their number ten, Italian Team’s starting midfielder—Herman Fing, is also in his contract year next year.
