I AM the Football Star

Chapter 619: Chapter 162: The New Italian Seven Sisters! (Part 2)

”Even if I agree, does the NBA’s regulations dare to provide me with such conditions?”

”Even if I win, you’ll say the regular season is just a warm-up, the playoffs are the real games.”

”If I participate in the playoffs and win, will you say the Eastern and Western Conference Finals are the true test of strength? And then tell me the championship is above all? Should I defeat Bogu in the NBA Finals to actually be considered victorious?”

”So the question is, when will the NBA arrange for me to join a championship team, and is that team willing to accept a stranger like me to help them in the finals? Ultimately, when will the Grizzlies make it to the finals?”

”So, don’t say those meaningless things. Loss is loss, win is win, no need to make excuses, victory is decided in people’s hearts.”

”As for my shooting, I don’t agree with what has been said. In the era when mid-range shots were born, people said mid-range shots couldn’t kill, then Jordan Bryant appeared!”

”After that, it was said that those who master mid-range shots would conquer the world, and the inside was just a group of blue-collar workers, yet the NBA entered the era of the four great central forwards!”

”Now you all say three-pointers are useless, especially long-distance ones. But I dare to predict that in future basketball tactics, three-pointers will play a pivotal role.”

”From my perspective as a soccer player, I can responsibly tell friends in the basketball world that three-pointers have a huge effect in stretching space, and as players become more versatile and strong, space will become the critical factor that determines victory!”

The media clamored because of this.

Many people felt Lu Yang was too arrogant, believing that a soccer player doesn’t know a lick about basketball!

But in the Charlotte Christian High School basketball team, a small substitute player is practicing three-pointers fervently.

His teammates looked and laughed, asking, ”Canon Curry, what are you doing? Your shooting posture wasn’t like this before?”

Curry replied, ”I’m mimicking Lu’s shooting posture.”

”Lu? You mean the Lu who defeated Bear King Bogu? The soccer Golden Boy, Lu?” His teammates showed three parts surprise, seven parts mocking.

”Yes, that’s him! He’s my basketball idol!” Curry exclaimed excitedly, ”He redefined basketball for me!”

His teammates sneered, ”Is it because you can’t dunk like Jordan, can’t dominate the boards like the Big Shark, so you can only learn Lu’s soft, almost feminine long-range shooting? He doesn’t even dare to get close to the three-point line!”

Curry stated resolutely, ”Yes! Because I can’t dunk, nor am I tall enough to fight for rebounds. So when I see a skill allowing ’ordinary people’ like me to touch and even decide the outcome of the game, I get extremely excited!”

”Jordan’s basketball is for geniuses, the Big Shark’s even more so, but ultimately, the world has more ordinary people. Lu’s basketball is for ordinary people, that’s why I choose Lu!”

”Plus, I agree with Lu’s tactical philosophy. Three-pointers can create greater space on the court. Basketball has always been confined within the three-point line, wasting so much space. Now, it’s time to liberate basketball from under the basket!”

Hahaha!

The teammates burst into laughter.

Someone recorded this conversation between Curry and his teammates, as well as Curry’s video practicing ultra-long three-pointers, and posted it online.

Soon, the video’s views surpassed a million.

Too many basketball fans mocked this kid named Canon Curry.

A school team basketball member whose basketball idol is a soccer player. It’s too funny.

This made Curry bear a lot of criticism, even the girls who occasionally asked for his number no longer paid attention to him.

This kid was done for.

No one would date a clown.

However, far away in Italy, Lu Yang saw this news, forwarded the video, and commented: ”Canon Curry, right? I’ve watched your three-point practice, and you can succeed.”

”I’m glad to have fans like you because one day, I can proudly tell all basketball media that my fan is the NBA’s MVP!”

”Remember, you are destined to become an MVP and a champion! Of course, the FMVP is hard to say, as it has nothing to do with basketball, but with Ah Ke. I really dislike Ah Ke, and I hope when you enter the NBA in the future, you carefully consider your shoe contract with Ah Ke. How about looking into HXLT?”

MVP!

Lu Yang’s bold proclamation was seen by many as an outsider’s reassurance to a child.

But no one knew that from this moment on, a seed of MVP dreams truly sprouted in this little boy named Canon Curry’s heart!

...

The basketball world was in a frenzy, but the soccer world continued steadily.

When Lu Yang went to support Sofia, San Remo had quietly finished the third round of the Italian Cup.

The opponent was an Italian D Division team.

Sotu used substitute players, but San Remo still ruthlessly kicked them 5-0.

Calafiori finally found his shining spot, scoring twice and earning Man of the Match honors.

Looks like this forward is adept at crushing weaker teams.

Fernandez returned from injury in this match, resuming peak form, quickly heated up like a microwave, scoring a goal and providing an assist.

Right-back Matias also found joy here, completing two assists.

Naji’s physique was terrifying against the Italian D Division opponents, easily heading in a goal during a corner kick contest.
