I AM the Football Star

Chapter 436: Chapter 122: Brit Awards and the England-Italy Showdown (Part 4)

As strong as Spain, they scored three goals against Italy, but against England?

They only scored one!

Who does Lu Yang think he is?

Does he think he’s part of that Italian football team standing at the pinnacle of the world a couple of decades ago?

Now, he’s playing in the Italy National Youth Team, a so-called football pseudo-strong nation!

Big chance of winning?

You call a ten percent chance a big winning chance?

Then is England’s eighty percent chance of winning supposedly small?

The English are raring to go and can’t wait for the last group match to start.

Then they can shut that arrogant Eastern kid up.

As such, the already high-profile Italy vs. England match in the European Youth Championship attracted even more attention.

Initially, people were interested because they wanted to know whether England or Spain would advance.

After all, only the top team from each group is guaranteed to advance.

But now, everyone is really looking forward to the bragging Italy National Youth Team.

Lu Yang is dubbed Italy’s smack-talker player.

Because when he played in the Italian D Division, Italian Third Division, and even the Italian Cup, he repeatedly proved doubters wrong.

Among them were strong teams like Rome and AC Milan.

But anyway, this all took place domestically in Italy.

Although Italy doesn’t have rampant match-fixing, or rather, each league has some number of mutual agreements, the notion of ”Italian Match-Fixing” has spread, making most fans think there’s more room for manipulation in Italian football matches.

So, the miracle Lu Yang created, the legend of San Remo setting sail, might have been orchestrated, right?

At least the English media preferred to think so and spread it that way.

Moreover, almost all mainstream media didn’t believe the Italy National Youth Team could win.

Many neutral media outlets ran the slogan ”A draw is a kind of victory.”

No doubt, these media are Spanish. Because if England is tied by Italy, the initiative for being Group A’s leader would be in Spain’s own hands.

The feeling of deciding one’s own fate is undeniably the best.

...

July 24th, the day before Lu Yang’s birthday.

The first match of the last round of the group stage of the European Youth Championship is about to kick off.

After getting off the bus, Lu Yang accepted a brief interview with CCTV’s ”Super Football.”

These clips will be aired in a documentary later.

The reason for the interview at this time is that CCTV also believes the battle is not optimistic.

If this ends in defeat, the recording would be considered over, and naturally, they want to gather more materials.

To some extent, this does affect the players’ states.

But Lu Yang doesn’t mind; it even helps him to boost his state. He’s a typical adrenaline junkie, a big game player, very pressure-resistant.

So only Lu Yang quietly went to accept the interview on the Italy National Youth Team’s side.

Tang Yuqin: ”Lu Yang, are you nervous now? Because there were many voices of doubt about you earlier.”

Lu Yang: ”Not really nervous.”

After all, there’s still a Messi Moment Card and a Moment Pack; Lu Yang feels confident.

Of course, qualities like aura can’t be faked.

Once you have confidence, a person’s potential is often unwittingly triggered, and most of the time, you can overcome difficulties without even using your trump card.

Considering the challenges the team will face next season, Lu Yang plans to save up some Moment Cards.

”Doubt is very normal because it means your excellence has somewhat exceeded the common degree of acceptance,” Lu Yang said. ”Just like most young people who suffer from mental illnesses, excluding congenital and hereditary factors, having depression or anxiety often proves they are striving hard.”

”Because striving hard and the naturally desired state of relaxation and joy for humans are inherently at odds, issues arise sooner or later.”

”Just like my opponents, their doubts or fear of me—it’s just a matter of time.”

Tang Yuqin has had contact with Lu Yang but guarantees that the Lu Yang in private, the Lu Yang talking about football, and the Lu Yang preparing for a match are entirely different Lu Yangs.

It is said that constantly changing styles in a girlfriend is equivalent to having many girlfriends.

Then is having such a changeable Lu Yang as a boyfriend equivalent to having many boyfriends?

Tang Yuqin suddenly somewhat understood—could this be Sofia’s happiness?
