I AM the Football Star

Chapter 407: Chapter 116: What’s So Great About a Cripple? San Remo Checks Fly Again

Last season, Juventus almost lost the league title to Florence, largely due to Canyes’ ”leaky” attribute.

Therefore, letting Canyes go is currently the best move for Juventus, without any delay.

At the same time, the limited buyback clause and second transfer agreement protect Juventus’ interests. If Canyes fully evolves in the future, Juventus can always bring him back to Turin City.

Even if Premier League and La Liga giants snatch him away with huge sums, Juventus’ second profit share still ensures a substantial return, so there’s no loss.

Thus, under Maniero’s urging, Canyes also successfully joined the trade and became the main part of it.

The transfer fee for Canyes is nine million euros, with a five-year contract and an annual salary of Nine Hundred Thousand, already at the level of a Serie A star, and the annual salary will increase yearly.

Overall, San Remo certainly made a significant move.

On the other hand, the internal contract renewal work for San Remo was completed very smoothly.

Although most players within the team have just signed new contracts, with the team’s promotion, renegotiating players’ salaries is very normal.

San Remo had already prepared for this and was not stingy at all.

San Remo’s own youth academy player, Naji, who performed extremely inconsistently, received an annual salary of Two Hundred Thousand. If he were on another Serie B team, his salary would most likely be halved.

Two Hundred Thousand euros is already close to the top salary among Serie B defensive players.

Of course, you have to overlook Bernulin’s Two Million annual salary!

Camihong, who transferred in during the winter window, also has an annual salary of Two Hundred Thousand, having just played for half a year and already gaining a raise, Camihong is simply happy. Without San Remo bringing him to Serie B, who knows where he’d be playing now.

Sogel is a player loaned from AC Milan, and his salary was already not low. To continue loaning Sogel, San Remo paid AC Milan Fifty thousand euros as a loan fee and also gave Sogel a Thirty thousand euro subsidy.

AC Milan originally intended to recall Sogel, but on one hand, Izalelt and others hoped the team could make another shot at the Champions League and did not want too many non-strong signings to maintain squad stability.

On the other hand, Sogel was also living quite happily at San Remo.

So, San Remo successfully extended the loan for another year, spending a huge cost to retain Sogel.

Versachi was long bought out by San Remo, with his annual salary rising to Thirty-five thousand euros, becoming the ceiling for normal midfield players in Serie B.

The reason for saying normal is because Latu Yidi’s million euro salary is indeed abnormal.

Frontline versatile player Fernandez’s salary increased to Thirty thousand euros, which is also not low.

Bai Zhami’s salary increased to Fifty thousand euros, breaking the ceiling for Serie B forwards, and San Remo’s investment in him is long-term, as he is also one of the best prospects for San Remo’s future.

In general, while San Remo’s salary level may not match Serie A teams, it is undoubtedly a unique presence among Serie B teams!

They are full of hope for their future in Serie B.

Of course, there are some veteran Serie B teams secretly mocking San Remo.

Country bumpkins!

First year in Serie B and you’re already paying such high salaries, the coming years will be difficult for you.

San Remo’s intentions are clear to everyone, it’s nothing but wanting consecutive promotions.

But frankly, Serie B is not the same game as the previous Italian Third Division and Italian D Division.

Serie B is divided into two types of teams. One is just going through the motions, not worth mentioning, just point collectors.

The other type are teams aiming for Serie A promotion, and these teams are highly competitive, often having a level close to Serie A.

Moreover, there are definitely more than two or three of such teams in Serie B.

Otherwise, why would the three promotion spots from Serie B to Serie A be so fiercely contested every year?

Preliminary estimates suggest that at least seven or eight teams in Serie B have this level of competitiveness.

So who can be promoted to Serie A is more intriguing than which teams will be relegated from Serie A to Serie B every year.

In terms of excitement, the promotion battle at the end of Serie B each year is absolutely thrilling!

In such circumstances, taking an all-out risk is too dangerous.

If they fail to promote, San Remo will be dragged down by its own salary structure.

There is a reason for the average salary structure in each league, and most ordinary teams’ annual salaries are lower than their annual revenue, allowing for steady development.

A salary overrun for one or two seasons is fine, but three or four seasons would be unsustainable for a club.

According to San Remo’s investment, if they don’t get promoted to Serie A within two seasons, they will definitely incur significant losses.

Then, asking players to take pay cuts?

Is it possible?

Players might even think they’ve been playing for years and deserve a raise.

A team with financial losses, players demanding raises, continuous promotion failures, fans complaining, and a club collapses-this is not a new story.

This kind of story happens every few years.

Each time it’s a confident team that aims for Serie A, only to get bogged down and end up in a mess.

San Remo won’t be the first, nor the last.

Of course, most fans don’t know these mature viewpoints, only seasoned fans have some understanding.

Therefore, regarding San Remo’s salary, San Remo fans are only excited, without any worry.

But even such optimistic San Remo fans showed obvious concern or fear after San Remo announced the salaries of their two core players.

...

If Canyes’ super transfer and salary made people worry whether he would become the next Becher’s, competing with San Remo’s twin stars for team status and spotlight.
