I AM the Football Star

Chapter 417: Chapter 119: The Twin Prodigies Script Behind the Sky-High Transfer

In the next few days, Lu Yang would sit next to Maniero watching practice matches, and he himself would also engage in some moderate, non-weight-bearing recovery training.

He carefully observed the playing habits of every player on the team. With God’s Perspective, he even knew the team players as well as Morici, who constantly played and paid attention to them.

Apart from the fact that the others were not familiar with Lu Yang’s playing style, he was almost the same as participating in the practice matches.

Considering that Lu Yang’s playing style is inherently highly complementary, mostly helping his teammates fix weaknesses, it didn’t matter even if his teammates were not familiar with him.

Similarly, Lu Yang’s presence in the training camp also caused some reactions.

On one hand, the players of San Remo, including those who previously fought alongside Lu Yang, like Sevajos and Lam, were very friendly and respectful towards him.

On the other hand, there was some hostility from those players who hadn’t played with Lu Yang before.

Yes, there was hostility.

Given that during the same age period, when everyone else was earning hundreds of thousands annually, there was someone earning three million a year, how would you view such a person?

Especially when the league level of the opponent is not even as high as yours.

Wouldn’t you think it’s unfair?

This is human nature.

Of course, everyone was fighting for Italy, so personal emotions would not affect things for now.

Everyone was relatively professional.

Under Lu Yang’s suggestion, Maniero changed the team’s formation to a more aggressive 4-1-2-3.

The effect of this adjustment was immediate.

Cortino, who liked to sit in the defensive midfield position, became as reliable as a mountain, his strong defense and tackling abilities and sense of position made him the most trustworthy person in front of the central defenders.

Even at the right time, Lam would proactively rush out to disrupt the play, and Cortino could fall back into the penalty area to temporarily act as a central defender.

This maximized the advantages of Cortino’s positional sense and Lam’s speed and destructiveness.

In attack, the addition of Morici significantly increased the offensive threat at the front.

Morici and Sevajos showcased their skills in the front.

But the issues with the two full-backs remained unresolved.

The left side couldn’t advance, and the right side advanced too eagerly.

Maniero had a brainwave and swapped Morici and Versachi’s positions as attacking midfielders.

With this move, Morici and Sevajos were fully together, and the left back’s reluctance to push forward was not an issue, as the two creative players could break down any defense.

On the right side, the lack of creativity in Versachi was compensated by Canyes’ aggressive forward runs, with Canyes daringly overlapping with right winger Pompey, and Versachi retreating appropriately, ready to cover the gaps left by Canyes’ forward runs, oscillating between right attacking midfielder and right defensive midfielder.

Overall, the team formation and tactics were determined after this adjustment.

The Italy National Youth Team’s practice matches became increasingly fluid.

In the end, to protect their youth players, Juventus discontinued their sparring.

If it continued this way, their kids would completely lose confidence.

With scores like basketball games, who could endure it!

...

During this period, Lu Yang also encountered a situation that left him dumbfounded.

Lu Yang was selected for the Italy National Youth Team and moved into the training base, which sparked intense discussions domestically.

Many fans once again swarmed the social media platforms of the domestic football federation.

Lu Yang was so outstanding that even the Italy National Youth Team summoned him, yet the domestic federation showed no attention, action, or effort.

Whether he wanted to return to China was one thing, but whether the federation reached out to him was another.

At the very least, they should have the right attitude!

Influenced by public opinion, the federation held a brief discussion about Lu Yang and finally decided to send him an email.

The email content roughly requested Lu Yang to voluntarily withdraw from the Italy National Youth Team and apply to join the National Team.

Currently, joining the National Team through football channels not only required ancestral ties but also five years of participation in domestic leagues.

So essentially, this email was asking Lu Yang to voluntarily return to China to play in the domestic league and then, after five years, serve the National Team.

Lu Yang was shocked when he received this email.

He really didn’t expect the federation to do something so brainless. This must be fake, right?

It must be fake; no one would be so dumb in reality!

However... after understanding the federation’s various actions, Lu Yang became resigned.

Federation, oh federation, you truly never change, still maintaining that paternal attitude toward players and fans!

How was Lu Yang supposed to reply to such an email?

Lu Yang thought he would look like a fool no matter what he replied.

So he finally forwarded the email to Tang Yuqin and informed her that he probably didn’t have the conditions to serve the National Team, hoping that domestic media focused on him would understand.

Fans were helpless faced with such a federation.

What else could they do?

”Oh, Xiaoqin, there is one more thing I would like your help with,” Lu Yang made a request.

Tang Yuqin was very surprised after hearing it, but she readily agreed.

Because what Lu Yang wanted to do was to donate money.

Soon, Lu Yang’s lack of response became the federation’s convenient excuse to shirk pressure.
