I AM the Football Star

Chapter 409: Chapter 117: San Remo Has Gone Mad, and So Has Maniero

Less than eighteen years old, a player from the Italian Third Division, hasn’t played in the Second Division, let alone Serie A, not trained by a top club, no big team background.

How much is the salary for such a player?

To be responsible, generally no more than One hundred fifty thousand annually.

Of course, if you insist on flaunting the terrifying stats of 40+20 in the Italian Third Division, and insist on showing the Italian Cup champion trophy and the Italian Cup best player trophy, then maybe it can increase to Three hundred thousand annually?

Okay, and if you’re particularly popular and have the foundation to become an idol-level star, then Five hundred thousand?

Are you also the team’s frontcourt offensive core?

Then Seven hundred thousand?

Eight hundred thousand?

What?

You want to benchmark Morici’s One million annual salary?

Sorry, are you the team’s core and brain?

No, then on what basis?

The above conversation is basically the best explanation for the salary of young players in Italy.

But all of this is invalid in front of Lu Yang.

San Remo officially announced that they have successfully re-signed a contract with Lu Yang.

Afterwards, various media quickly followed up.

But the first to release accurate information was a football sports publication far away on the Eastern Continent.

”Serie A Top Salary! San Remo and Lu Yang complete renewal, Lu Yang’s annual salary is Three million euros!”

This news caused a strong reaction in China.

At this time, the salary of Chinese players had not yet reached the average standard of international secondary leagues, much less the wealthy Chinese Super League that would later compete with top leagues. It was hard to imagine a Chinese player being able to receive a three to four million annual salary!

No one across the European Continent could have guessed Lu Yang’s salary would be so outrageous, let alone in China.

Right now, a conclusion on whether Lu Yang has a future hasn’t even been discussed here yet.

Nearly half the fans are pessimistic about Lu Yang’s career because cruciate ligament tears and meniscus wear are indeed too fatal.

However, San Remo immediately offered a Three million annual salary contract.

So does San Remo not understand football?

Clearly impossible!

Moreover, according to Luo Cheng’s detailed introduction in Football Sports, this contract is four years, with Lu Yang’s annual salary increasing by twenty percent each year.

Theoretically, Lu Yang’s last year salary will be as high as Four million eight hundred thousand euros! Almost equivalent to Five million euros!

And Five million euros is currently the salary ceiling for Serie A!

Stars like Izalelt, with boundless prospects and numerous fans, only have an annual salary of Five million five hundred thousand euros.

Normal top stars in Serie A mostly have annual salaries in the Three million range.

But Lu Yang... starting directly as a top star, with Izalelt’s ceiling!

Just ask, who else?

For a while, the topic led by World Football News questioning Lu Yang’s capability had no supporters.

The bigger the world, the louder the voice of people who truly invested real money, because they have paid a price for their words.

Never mind the Five million euros, even this Three million euros is how much domestically?

No matter how unclear Lu Yang’s future may be, it’s already worthwhile.

Normally, it’s hard for someone to earn that much money in a lifetime.

So far, Football Sports successfully promoted the star ”Lu Yang” to Chinese fans, and for a time, approached zero negative reviews.

As one of the football deserts, Chinese fans do not demand the mighty presence of a Chinese in the world’s top football leagues. Even if there’s just someone of Chinese descent, everyone is already very satisfied.

After all, it’s better than the term ”Light of Asia” being used to describe a Korean, right?

This storm swept across all Asia.

The name Lu Yang, the Light of Asia, finally spread without a trace and began to circulate widely in Asia.

AC Milan has a very high reputation in Japan, and Lu Yang, the nemesis of AC Milan as well as the team known as little AC Milan, San Remo, is just as well known in Japan as Lu Yang is in China.

At the same time, an unprecedented major debate was unfolding at the center of this storm—Italy.

...

”This is insane, San Remo is completely out of line!”

”If Morici’s One hundred twenty thousand salary had some controversy, then Lu Yang’s Three million euro contract makes me think San Remo’s management are all idiots!”

”Do they know who in Italian football right now earns Three million euros? Perrotta! Carrel! Ancelotti! Gianluigi Audi! Apart from that, players like Balera and Drake don’t even have Three million annual salaries, so on what basis does Lu get this?”

”Based on his forty goals in the Italian Third Division? Or a meaningless Italian Cup?”

Too many Italian fans are dissatisfied with this.

No one minds seeing a miracle born.

But if at the same time this miracle stings you, then you won’t be pleased.

An eighteen-year-old with a Three million euro annual salary is a mockery to all adults.

But at the same time, these fans’ words invisibly harmed the authority of the Italian Cup.

For this, Martivini stated his views on this contract in his personal capacity: ”First, we confirm this contract was signed voluntarily by both parties, so... legally speaking, no one has the right to question this contract.”

”Secondly, some think Lu Yang doesn’t qualify for such a high salary. I have no opinion on this. I just want to inform everyone that the last team to win the Italian Cup was Juventus, and there are four players in Juventus with salaries over Three million euros!”

”The last player to win the Italian Cup best player award was Gianluigi Audi, who has a salary of Four million euros!”
