Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 843: Chapter 716: Snape’s Double Standards (Part 3)

But unexpectedly... the results were not bad, at least more than half of the students could proficiently use the spell he required.

Professor Snape originally thought it was a coincidence, until he increased the difficulty and checked again, only to find that most people had indeed mastered the three spells skillfully.

This was indeed a pleasant surprise, Snape thought to himself.

But what he didn’t know was that most of Hufflepuff had attended last year’s D.A. meetings, and the three spells he required were the ones Cedric had focused on teaching.

Unfortunately, Cedric had graduated this year, and the D.A. had not been held again since Umbridge’s departure, otherwise, they would quite like to continue attending.

After class, everyone gathered in the corridor, speculating on how Snape was planning to teach them to resist the Imperio.

Some people also guessed the answer.

”Of course, I know it’s Occlumency.” Conna and Kael walked side by side on the way to the auditorium, ”After all, what else requires emptying the mind?”

Kael thought carefully, there really wasn’t anything else.

So it’s easy for anyone who already knows about this charm to guess Snape’s thoughts.

”Need help?” Kael asked.

Just as the Wampus Cat hadn’t been returned yet, they could use the Room of Requirement to give Conna a special lesson.

Kael had it all thought out, then he could negotiate with the Wampus Cat to be gentle, or simply write Newt another letter, asking if there were any Wampus Cat cubs, preferably the kind just born two or three months ago.

At that time, the little ones were like furballs, only with innate Legilimency abilities, but still weak themselves, being hit wouldn’t hurt or itch, making them perfect for special lessons.

”No need.” Conna shook her head with a smile and said, ”Actually, since last Christmas, I’ve been learning Occlumency, and Professor Snape even made me a very detailed plan.”

”Look...” She took out a parchment booklet and handed it to Kael.

The front of the contents was the process and precautions of learning Occlumency, very detailed, presumably summarized from many related books.

Some parts were exactly the same as what Snape had said in class just now.

In the back were specific things to do, such as how to truly empty the mind, what magic potion to use as an aid, all clearly written.

In the seven magic potions Snape had written out, Kael even saw Felix Felici... although it was only a drop blended into ten days of Dreamless Sleep Potion, and it was only to be drunk once every three months, but that was exaggerated enough, considering Felix Felici is meant to be consumed by the drop.

Kael returned the booklet to Conna and muttered, ”If he had been this dedicated when teaching Harry, they wouldn’t have almost started a fight.”

”What did you say?” Conna asked, as she hadn’t heard clearly.

”Nothing.” Kael shook his head and changed the topic, ”So, you’ve already learned Occlumency?”

”I don’t know.” Conna shook her head, ”But before the holidays, I no longer needed to drink Dreamless Sleep Potion... I guess that means I’ve learned.”

Kael thought, she could definitely drop the ’I guess’ part.

After studying the contents of that booklet for more than half a year, with Snape’s luxurious magic potion package, it was no wonder even someone like Neville could learn Occlumency.

Out of curiosity, Kael suggested testing it out, and Conna agreed, as she also wanted to know how well she had learned.

After lunch, the two went to the Room of Requirement.

Conna stood there a bit nervously, while in front of her, the Wampus Cat was staring at her with its ghostly blue eyes unblinkingly.

After about a minute, the Wampus Cat gently shook its head and then jumped back into the box.

Although he already guessed that Conna had surely learned Occlumency, Kael still found it a bit unbelievable.

After all, Harry was just at this level too.

Although Conna spent almost ten months, much slower than Harry, her process was smooth and easy, almost without any setbacks, and she learned it naturally.

If Harry had a choice, Kael was sure he would never want to be screaming for more than half a month in the basement of No. 12 Grimmauld Place.

Even Kael himself felt a bit envious, as he didn’t get such treatment when he learned Occlumency.
