Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 822: Chapter 709: Diagon Alley Battle_3

”Kael.” Charlie walked over, ”How did you know the Death Eaters would attack Diagon Alley?”

”It wasn’t me.” Kael shook his head and said softly.

Actually, it was thanks to Mr. Granger.

As luck would have it, everyone knows the rooms at the Leaky Cauldron have poor soundproofing, so most wizards cast a soundproof charm on their rooms to avoid being disturbed, but Mr. Granger didn’t know how.

He overheard some Death Eaters discussing their plan of action in the corridor.

Although there wasn’t much content, the phrases ’act at night’ and ’we need them alive’ caught his attention.

Kael had errands at Gringotts today and happened to bump into Mr. Granger, who was about to send a letter to Hermione at the Owl Post Office. During the chat, he casually mentioned it.

However, to ensure Mr. Granger’s safety, Kael didn’t tell anyone about it and only said externally that the information came from an anonymous source.

”Anyway, thanks to your tip.” Charlie said, heart pounding at the explosion sounds nearby, ”Who would have thought Death Eaters would attack Diagon Alley? What are they after?”

”That’s a question for Mr. Fosco.” Kael turned to look at the middle-aged wizard.

”I don’t know either.” Florean Fortescue shook his head, ”They didn’t say anything, just blew up my door. If the Aurors hadn’t arrived in time, I might have been taken by them.”

”That’s odd.” Fred frowned, ”It’s not like You-Know-Who suddenly wanted ice cream?”

Aside from this reason, he couldn’t fathom why Death Eaters would target an ice cream shop owner.

Could You-Know-Who like ice cream? That image is too surreal to imagine.

”I suspect they might also be looking for Mr. Olivander.” Florean Fortescue said, ”When the Auror was helping me escape just now, I accidentally saw several Death Eaters going to the Wand Shop.”

”Olivander isn’t at the shop.” Fred frowned and said, ”Actually, it’s been closed for a long time.”

”That makes sense.” Fosco said, ”Mr. Olivander needs to find materials for making wands, which is a very time-consuming task. He usually returns two weeks before the start of the school year each time.

”But it’s lucky he’s away, keeping him out of harm’s way.”

”Not necessarily.” Kael shook his head.

Perhaps it would have been better if Olivander had been at Diagon Alley today, because with the advance notice, the Aurors had a great chance of saving him.

But if he encounters the Death Eaters while out, they really can’t do anything about it.

”Boom!” Another explosion resounded.

A Death Eater rushed into Knockturn Alley, her mask falling off to reveal a fierce and maniacal face.

Antonin Dolohov, the Death Eater previously captured by the Department of Mysteries, had escaped again.

It’s likely that when the Dementors collectively turned traitor, Voldemort conveniently rescued him.

”You again, die, Crucio!” ℴ

Seeing Kael, his eyes flared with hatred, and he immediately unleashed a Crucio Curse without uttering a word.

But his intent was too obvious, and Kael easily dodged it.

”Don’t be so agitated.” Kael hid behind a barrel, ”Aren’t you curious why you failed today?”

”Why!” Antonin Dolohov said coldly, ”Say it, maybe I’ll be merciful and let you die less painfully.”

”Of course because someone told us.” Kael said, ”Otherwise, how do you think the Aurors knew about your plan?”

”You’re lying!” Antonin Dolohov squinted his eyes.

He may be evil, but he’s not stupid. The conspiracy practically jumped at him from Kael’s words.

”I’m just being kind.” Kael said with a smug tone, ”Anyway, you can’t escape today. I’m just being charitable, wanting to let you die understanding a bit more... but since you don’t want to listen, then forget it.”

”Tell me the name.” Antonin Dolohov said solemnly, ”Who dare betray the great Dark Lord.”

”Aren’t you smart, why not guess for yourself?” Kael laughed, ”Maybe that person is beside you, and you’ve been neighbors for over a decade.”

”Tell me the name!”

”He’s there...” At this moment, several Aurors also rushed into Diagon Alley, raising their wands towards Antonin Dolohov.

”Stupefy!”

”Full Body Binding!”

”Petrificus Totalus!”

...

”Damn Aurors!”

Antonin Dolohov waved his wand, deflecting all the flying charms back.

Although he wanted to capture Kael and force out the traitor’s name, it was too late now.

Faced with so many Aurors, Antonin Dolohov knew that if he stayed he would surely be caught.

”You just wait, I will catch you one day!”

After leaving a harsh word, he fled deeper into Knockturn Alley without looking back. Several Aurors immediately followed him.

”Are you okay, Kael.” Lupin also ran over from outside and asked.

One of his arms seemed injured, hanging limply, but Lupin didn’t seem to care.

”We’re fine.” Kael shook his head and said, ”How’s outside?”

”Most of the Death Eaters are under control, capturing them is only a matter of time.” Lupin said, ”What about Dolohov?”

”He ran off.” Kael glanced at his arm, ”But a few Aurors already went after him. In your condition, even if you went, you wouldn’t be much help.”

”This... all right.” Lupin hesitated for a moment and finally chose to stay where he was instead of going after them.
