Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 148: Chapter 148: Causing Trouble

Su Changxing took out a sleeping bag from his backpack and placed it beside him, stuffing another Oreo into his mouth, and said: ”How many people did your brother lose when they went out yesterday?”

Zhu Xin Xue thought for a moment and said: ”Four people, I guess. Fortunately, my brother’s okay. I was planning to go with him, but he wouldn’t let me.”

Su Changxing nodded and said: ”There’s no way he’d let you go... have some cookies.”

He still handed the remaining Oreos to Zhu Xin Xue.

Zhu Xin Xue took the Oreos without hesitation, immediately stuffing her mouth full, and said in an exaggeratedly mature tone: ”Thank you, Master.”

Su Changxing watched Zhu Xin Xue eating both a lollipop and Oreos, raising his eyebrows, feeling that this little girl had a high tolerance for sweetness, and said:

”You can go out now, I’m about to sleep.”

Zhu Xin Xue took the Oreos and tucked them into her chest, got up and said obediently: ”Alright, Master, take your time sleeping.”

After Zhu Xin Xue left, Su Changxing closed the door, spent thirty points at the discount store, and exchanged for a box of self-heating rice, tearing off the lid and adding water to soak it.

Even though he had eaten quite a few Oreos along the way, he felt he should eat some staple food to feel more comfortable.

Su Changxing placed a head by the door and said: ”What’s the best thing I can do right now?”

The head opened its scarlet eyes and said: ”Regarding what? Everything seems to be going well for you, better than I anticipated.”

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said: ”Is there any way to stop ordinary people from turning into zombies, or at least delay it?”

The head’s exaggerated expression froze, staring at Su Changxing, and after a moment of silence, said: ”You think a lot. According to my analysis, zombies in this world are caused by the influence of high-tier beings, so cutting off the source of this influence would do.”

Su Changxing sliced open a can with a short knife, murmuring with his head down: ”So the only way is still to shut down the energy stations, and each area has one...”

The head said with a strange smile:

”Even if things remain as they are now, in thirty days only some ordinary people will turn into zombies. And even if all the energy stations stop, this influence will still exist; it has become a part of this world, so some ordinary people will still turn into zombies.”

”You need to use the word ’some’ more precisely.”

Su Changxing said irritably, without saying much more, he opened his phone and browsed through the journey logs.

[You sleep in a bad environment, -5 Mysteriousness]

[Your sleep quality was very poor, -5 Mysteriousness]

Mysteriousness dropped by ten points.

”So, if I engage in activities while sleeping, I would lose at least five Mysteriousness points.”

Su Changxing analyzed, he currently had 560 Mysteriousness. If he relied only on sleeping, it would take at least fifty days to max out Mysteriousness.

However, advancing wasn’t the most important thing right now, promotion was. Tier Nine was the easiest stage to promote, the difficulty would increase significantly at Tier Eight.

And the materials for promotion seemed to require the organization of the Giant Hand, or other things, doing tasks might also be an option, the reward for killing the ”Giant Infant” seemed to be promotion, a directional promotion.

Thinking in another direction, there should be other tasks that would also provide opportunities for promotion.

Su Changxing pondered while slicing the luncheon meat in the can into pieces, placing them into the heating lunch box, estimating that heating the luncheon meat would improve the taste significantly.

After more than ten minutes, he tore open the lid, and a burst of fragrance assaulted his nose, with the smell of tomatoes being the most prominent.

”They shouldn’t be able to smell it outside.”

Su Changxing muttered to himself, taking a bite with the luncheon meat, and found that after adding the luncheon meat, the texture of the tomato scrambled eggs was immediately enhanced, elevating the taste to a new level.

In the hallway.

”Damn, who’s committing a crime, eating hot food when it’s not mealtime.”

Qian Runwei twitched his nose, sensitively detecting a fragrance wafting through the air. In the past, he might not have smelled it, but now he could detect even a hint of meatiness.

A skinny young man pointed to the end of the hallway, at Su Changxing’s room, weakly saying: ”Seems like it’s that big brother’s room.”

”······”

Qian Runwei was stunned for a moment, didn’t say anything, and quietly walked away.

······

”Why do they have food while we don’t? Since we’re a team, there shouldn’t be such differences.”

”Exactly, we all joined here today, there shouldn’t be preferential treatment.”

······

Su Changxing vaguely heard a commotion outside, suddenly opening his eyes, glancing at his phone, 12:20.

”Right at noon, an argument over food?”

Su Changxing packed up his things, pushed the door open, and walked out, just in time to see Huang Tao knock down a young man in a black T-shirt with a stick, saying:

”These are the rules, everyone has to follow the rules.”

The young man’s face was covered in blood, a look of fear flashing in his eyes, completely not expecting Huang Tao to directly take action.

Other troublemakers were also stunned, one of the men with a flushed face shouted: ”You dare to hit people, we’re not easy to deal with either.”

He picked up the weapon in his hand and swung it at Huang Tao, who dodged but didn’t avoid it completely, getting hit on the shoulder. Others in the base saw Huang Tao get hit and also swarmed in.

The scene instantly turned chaotic, with nearly a dozen people fighting, while some uninformed people and newcomers watched from the sidelines.

Seeing this mess, Su Changxing realized it was getting out of hand, and someone might get killed, so he stepped forward quickly, kicking one of the troublemakers flying and shouting:

”Whoever wants to die can try again.”

The scene suddenly quieted down, Su Changxing’s kick was truly frightening, sending someone flying four or five meters like they’d been hit by a car.

Su Changxing looked at Huang Tao and asked: ”What’s going on?”

Huang Tao, who had taken a hit to the face, with a bruise, sighed and said:

”Brother Su, these people just arrived, without bringing any supplies, and expect to eat for free. Do they really think we’re fools?”

Su Changxing surveyed the surroundings with a wry smile and said: ”Is that so? No one owes anyone anything, and no one’s doing charity in the apocalypse. Your freeloading behavior isn’t much different from robbery.”

The man with the maroon skin, who was the first to make a move, looked awkward and said: ”You said you’d guarantee food, that’s why we came over, and you started the fight first.”

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said: ”Hmm, the final interpretation lies with Huang Biao, ask him later.”

The faces of these people were pale, obviously not lightly hungry, yet despite this incident, they didn’t suggest leaving.

This commotion made the atmosphere in the hall very tense, and at the same time, much quieter.
