Chapter 140: Chapter 140: The Drawbacks of the Tailor

”Bang, bang, bang~”

Flames spewed from the muzzle.

Bullets flew past the ”Tailor” from all directions, not a single one hitting him, not even approaching him within a meter.

The ”Tailor” remained with his eyes closed, he didn’t need his eyes to control these threads, as if each thread had a pair of eyes.

However, Su Changxing noticed that if the bullets were just a bit faster, they could break through the ”Tailor’s” defense.

This meant he should choose the ”Pistol Enthusiast” upgrade path.

”Flashbang? Pistol? Quite interesting.”

The ”Tailor” lowered his hand, opened his eyes, and looked at Su Changxing, with a stiff smile on his face, like a mask, a permanently fixed expression that showed no genuine emotion.

As a Tier Eight Extraordinary, his body had been significantly strengthened, so the effect of the flashbang on him was very short, lasting only a moment.

Su Changxing stopped shooting, turned into a black shadow, and ran along the wall towards the outside. If he could just get out of this room, he could at least ensure his own safety.

If he couldn’t get out, it might be a dead end.

Trapped inside, being slowly killed by the ”Tailor,” it’s likely the ”Tailor” didn’t come down directly, holding a mindset of tormenting them.

Torture?

From the ”Tailor’s” various actions, he was clearly a pervert, often able to kill the enemy directly but choosing instead to torment them, dismembering and injuring them, letting them die slowly.

The distance wasn’t far, roughly seven or eight meters, which, given Su Changxing’s current physical strength, he could cover in a quarter of a breath.

Su Changxing didn’t know what the situation was with the headquarters, seeing him make such a risky move, and shouted anxiously:

”Kid, stop, stop, you’ll die if you rush in, that guy is definitely one of the top Tier Eight Extraordinaries.”

It perceived that the ”Tailor’s” strength might be even greater than it appeared. He was a top Tier Eight Extraordinary.

Unfortunately, Su Changxing couldn’t hear its shouting.

Everything happened in an instant, from Su Changxing throwing the flashbang to completing his shooting in about two seconds.

Chen Ling was the first to react. The moment the flashbang ended, he rushed out with Su Changxing.

He knew that at this time, he absolutely couldn’t go one by one; that would only lead to one-by-one deaths. Rushing all at once might have a chance.

Upon exiting the storeroom, he saw a shocking scene: Su Changxing ran forward along the wall at an incredible speed, appearing only as a phantom.

Three red lines sliced towards Su Changxing, one side-slashing from arm height, one horizontally slashing from thigh height, and another thrusting towards Su Changxing’s abdomen.

With almost no room to evade, this seemed like a dead end.

Swooshing sounds brushed his ears, and Su Changxing could only watch himself running towards those three red lines helplessly while more red lines had already cut off his retreat, simultaneously issuing commands to dodge and advance.

The fully unleashed strength and speed of his body exceeded his expectations, approaching ten in power, speed, and physique.

Su Changxing leaned back his head, twisted his upper body, dodging the red lines above and below in a strange posture. The steel saber in his hand met the incoming red lines, sparking.

A noticeable silver-white indentation appeared on the back of the blade.

The set of movements was incredibly natural, without any hint of stiffness, seemingly instinctive, like using your arms to brace a fall or instinctively blinking when stimulated—a fighting instinct.

But it wasn’t over yet. Seeing Su Changxing expertly dodge the attack, the ”Tailor” showed an excited expression. In the next moment, five threads lashed towards Su Changxing, weaving into a web in the air with sharp sounds, like bird chirps.

”Clang~”

Su Changxing held the steel saber, slashing at the center of the web. The blade collided with the red lines again, sparking and producing metallic clangs.

Streaks of blood-red liquid slid along the threads, splattering into droplets, continuously trembling.

This time, Su Changxing didn’t completely dodge; his shoulder, thigh, and abdomen were all deeply cut, with a lot of blood gushing out.

Yet his movements showed no hesitation or slowness, unimpeded by the injuries.

Fortunately, his body managed to avoid dismemberment; the wound on his arm was precisely a third of its entirety.

By now, he had reached the ”Tailor’s” rear-side, creating a distance between them once more.

Su Changxing looked down at the ”Tailor” from an elevated perspective, his eyes flashing sharply, with his wounds healing at a visibly rapid rate.

Behind him was the night, intertwined with pale moonlight, and across him were Qin Decang, Zhang Daxi, and others, watching Su Changxing standing outside.

Countless thoughts whirled and flashed in Su Changxing’s mind. Facing such a powerful presence, unquestionably, leaving was the best choice.

To live, one must know how to avoid harm and seek benefit...

Su Changxing surveyed his injuries from a God’s Perspective.

Indeed, that’s how it was.

From beginning to end, the ”Tailor” never intended to kill him directly. The threads only injured his non-vital areas: his arm, thigh, abdomen.

His mind raced, Su Changxing realized that it might not be due to some psychological perversion. The ”Tailor” had no reason to spare him in these circumstances.

Perhaps the methods of torture were not active but passive. The Tailor didn’t want to kill him; he couldn’t, due to positional limitations.

This is the flaw of power, the flaw of position.

The flaw of the ”Skillful Tailor” was that he couldn’t kill directly; he could only use indirect means to kill... So that’s why the Security Bureau member Su Changxing encountered had only their hands cut off.

That’s also why the ”Tailor” only amputated Xu Chu’s limbs without killing him.

Like a double-edged sword, the stronger the power, the greater the flaws.

Information from ”True Knowledge” kept flickering.

[Half Twisted Humans (Extraordinary): Skillful Tailor with Silk Manipulation, Tier Eight, healthy, angry. A tailor who likes to torment but lacks the courage to kill; his favorite method is amputating limbs and watching the victim die slowly.]

There was an opportunity.

If the ”Tailor” wouldn’t kill directly, then there was room for maneuver.

”Bang, bang~”

Su Changxing once again raised his pistol towards the ”Tailor,” repeatedly pulling the trigger while running sideways.

Three bullets traced three ripples in space, each with a half-second interval, shot at different positions on the ”Tailor’s” body.

The previous firing density was high, blocked by the ”Tailor,” so he wanted to try shooting from different angles.

Qin Decang conjured a fireball. Both sides practically attacked simultaneously, reaching an unspoken understanding.

The red threads in the space danced again, defending, shredding the flame, blocking bullets, and suspending the attack on Su Changxing.

”Boom~”

The fire exploded in the room, impacting the ”Tailor” to a certain extent, causing his gray-brown coat to flutter in the wind.

Su Changxing keenly noticed that a bullet veered and hit the ground near the ”Tailor’s” feet, indicating that a bullet had nearly struck the ”Tailor” directly.

The approach of simultaneous attacks from different directions was effective; at least the Tailor showed weakness facing such an attack.

Not only did Su Changxing notice, but Chen Ling and others also noticed. It meant that Su Changxing’s pistol could indeed threaten the ”Tailor.”
