Chapter 110: Chapter 110: The Night

Time, 7:10

Dusk gradually extinguished, and the ruined city welcomed the night; the sky, streets, and zombies all darkened.

For some reason, Su Changxing did not reject this darkening feeling. He had already adapted to being active in this deathly silence, starting to get used to the howling in this quietness.

Coming into the night, he felt like he became the master here, as if he were a Dreamer, and this place had become his dream.

After handling everything, Su Changxing and Huang Biao returned through the half-dark sky, and by this time, the zombies had become especially active, rushing at them from a distance away.

Su Changxing lifted his knife facing forward, a zombie just charged over, its head hitting the blade, and died.

Qian Runwei frantically pushed away a zombie, already scratched with a few bloody marks on himself, taking a sharp breath and saying, ”These zombies are too fierce, like they’re on steroids.”

Huang Biao killed a zombie while taking a moment to finish off a zombie on the ground, sternly saying, ”Focus, if this claw hits your neck, you’re done for.”

Qian Runwei took a deep breath, steadied himself, and stayed beside Su Changxing, only needing to watch out for zombies attacking from the side.

Every swing from Su Changxing could precisely kill a zombie. The not-so-dense zombies couldn’t break through his blade’s defense range.

The distance here wasn’t long. Besides Qian Runwei getting slightly injured, the six of them returned to their base with relative ease.

Walking in the stairs.

Huang Biao’s expression was somewhat solemn again, feeling these zombies had noticeably grown stronger, then relaxed and mimicked Su Changxing’s tone, saying:

”These zombies are quite unscientific. They’ve clearly become stronger in just a few days. What were they doing before, as if... it’s because we arrived that they got stronger.”

Su Changxing spread his hands, calmly saying, ”Maybe we are the source of these zombies’ strength, or this is just a game, a level, the difficulty seems quite reasonable to increase over time.”

God, it’s really reasonable.

Yan Xu and the other four appeared silent, feeling oppressed, unable to imagine what these zombies would be like in thirty days.

Back at the base, Su Changxing happened to see Zhu Wenwu in the study, lighting a kerosene lamp, rapidly hand-drawing a map.

”Are you drawing the map of the surrounding area?”

Su Changxing was surprised by Zhu Wenwu’s drawing skills; he didn’t use any tools, just relying on a pen, perfectly recreating the map on his phone.

Zhu Wenwu looked up and chuckled. His lips were evidently redder than in the afternoon, saying, ”Haha, contributing in my way, Boss Huang said he needed a physical map, so here I am drawing it.”

Su Changxing looked at the map under the orange lamp, admiring, ”It’s really well drawn. If you can’t be a pipeline engineer, maybe you could change to being an artist.”

Zhu Wenwu scratched the back of his head, a bit embarrassed, saying, ”I can only draw some maps; saying I can draw is a far reach.”

Huang Biao came in, also visibly impressed, saying, ”Impressive, didn’t know you had this ability. With a physical map, it’s easier for us to discuss.”

Su Changxing thought for a moment, saying, ”Indeed, it’s more convenient, Huang Biao, I’ll rest for a bit first, and come over by eleven.”

Although he wasn’t tired at all now, for a Dreamer, sleep time is like a storage bar.

Though it is a hard requirement, today sleeping more means sleeping less tomorrow. Theoretically, he could sleep for a day and a night, and then not sleep for a few days and still be mentally full.

Huang Biao pointed outside the door, saying, ”As you requested, your room is arranged at the very end of this floor, which is also considered the safest place, I’ll take you there.”

Originally, Huang Biao arranged a room for Su Changxing next to him, considered the best spot on this floor, spacious, with more people around.

But he refused.

He had too many secrets while sleeping, inconvenient to be seen by others.

Close the door properly.

Su Changxing laid out his sleeping bag, cooked two boxes of self-heating rice, and ate it with a can of fried fish from the supermarket.

This fish had a crispy exterior, the meat was somewhat tough, the taste was salty and very greasy, not too good overall, but it went well with rice.

While eating, a light knocking sounded at the door, followed by a gentle yet immature voice, with a shameless tone.

”Teacher, what are you eating, it smells so good.”

Su Changxing took a sip of water without speaking.

”Teacher, do you usually lick the lid or something? I’m really good at that, can lick it super clean.”

Su Changxing almost spat out his water, replied in annoyance, ”Go away, I’m going to sleep.”

”Okay, teacher.”

Zhu Xin Xue’s footsteps faded away from the door.

Su Changxing took another big gulp of water, diluting the saltiness in his mouth, then lit some incense in the corner, took out the head, and placed it at the door.

The head praised, ”Didn’t expect you to be quite sentimental, knowing to take me out voluntarily.”

Su Changxing raised an eyebrow, not explaining, set the alarm, and fell asleep.

Not waiting for the alarm, Su Changxing woke up on his own. With full sleep, he seemed to control his sleep time.

He tidied up and walked towards the hall. At this time, there were more people at the base, whispers came, gathering in small groups chatting.

But he never saw that woman who had spoken to him before; she was probably already dead in that survivor attack.

Entering the study, there were more than ten people gathered around the wooden table inside, including Yan Xu, Zhu Wenwu, and Huang Biao, who was giving them a pep talk.

”In this Doomsday Game, being timid is a slow death, it’s a dead end. Even if it’s dangerous at night, we still have to go out and seize the resources from the Mysterious Shop. That’s water, food, even strength. Only when we are strong as a whole, can we possibly survive this doomsday.”

These people were either young or middle-aged, presumably the elites in the base, and the ones preparing to go out at night.

Having more people going out at night isn’t necessarily better. Too many people might attract more zombies, and some with weak combat abilities or lacking courage may become burdens.

Su Changxing found a seat nearby and sat down, realizing Huang Biao could really talk, passionately speaking alone for more than ten to twenty minutes before pausing.

Huang Biao paused and looked at Su Changxing, saying, ”Now what do you say? Any suggestions?”

Su Changxing thought for a moment, saying, ”You’d better take a steady approach, or it might easily trigger an Undead Tide. I’ll tell you the location of the Mysterious Shop later, um, you continue.”

He really didn’t have much to say. His experience wasn’t suitable for the group nor these people, mainly reminding Huang Biao to be steady.

Huang Biao seemed steady, but carried an attribute of being rash, which others might not realize, but he understood clearly.
