Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 113: Chapter 113: The Man with Severed Arms

Su Changxing spent 20 points in the Mysterious Shop to exchange for two light blue T-shirts. He replaced his tattered clothes with one and put the other in his backpack as a spare. He also exchanged for a gray-brown long coat.

This coat was quite well-made, with sturdy fabric. More importantly, it had pockets inside and out, making it convenient for him to store a short knife, magazines, and a pistol.

Outside, aside from some hermetically preserved clothing, most clothes were dirty and worn, and in damp places, they even grew green-black mold.

Therefore, exchanging clothes in the shop was a good choice. Although simple in style, the quality was exceptional in all aspects.

Su Changxing opened the position column and noticed that the positions in the Mysterious Shop were different but still didn’t match him.

[Tier Nine Observer (Middle Rank)] Same tier position already obtained, cannot exchange

[Tier Nine Reader (Lower Rank)] Same tier position already obtained, cannot exchange

[Ninth Rank Striver (Middle Rank)] Same tier position already obtained, cannot exchange

[Tier Nine Chopper (Lower Rank)] Same tier position already obtained, cannot exchange

[Tier Eight Iron Bone Boxer (Middle Rank)] Does not match current position

If all need to be developed by oneself, then what is the point of these Tier Nine positions?

Su Changxing suddenly had such a thought. Those who haven’t become Extraordinaries can’t see this information. After becoming an Extraordinary, these Tier Nine positions are useless.

”······”

”······”

”So these positions will be opened to ordinary people later. Once certain conditions are met, others can develop pathways via the shop to become Extraordinaries.”

Su Changxing judged that this should be related to the so-called Extraordinary Era. Once 100,000 people have become Extraordinaries, the Extraordinary Era will commence.

Perhaps at that time, ordinary people will be able to directly exchange for positions in the Mysterious Shop.

”If 100,000 people could develop paths, the infection issue might be greatly alleviated, allowing more people to survive... However, the number of Extraordinary is not controlled by humans, only affected by the number of Mysterious Shops.”

Thinking like this, Su Changxing felt a bit of dread. He had reason to believe that the time for them to start the Extraordinary Era was already pre-designed by some existence... There’s a high probability that this wouldn’t happen within these thirty days.

He looked at the huge metal ball and used ”True Knowledge” to explore.

[This seems to be a replica of something, mysterious and unpredictable]

A replica?

Meaning this thing has an original body, huh.

Su Changxing noticed that the head hadn’t spoken for a while and asked, ”Head, do you know what this metal ball is?”

”······”

”······”

No one answered.

Su Changxing’s heart skipped a beat. He opened his backpack, took out the head, and found its expression in a daze, losing consciousness, like a marble statue devoid of spirit.

Upon entering the Mysterious Shop, the head lost consciousness, possibly because it wasn’t recognized by the Mysterious Shop but entered here...

Su Changxing stuffed the head back into the backpack, tidied up a bit, and left.

A white light flashed, his vision darkened, and a roar reached his ears. He was back on the street, with not many Zombies around.

The voice of the head came from his side, ”Ten minutes... Kid, what just happened? Your world’s Doomsday Game seems a bit odd.”

Its voice surprisingly heavy, this was the first time Su Changxing felt such emotion from it.

”What were you like before?”

Su Changxing started running toward the next Mysterious Shop, intending to gather as much Attribute Enhancement as possible tonight, which was the fastest way to increase his combat power so far.

The head dismissively said, ”What else? Just kill. The more you kill, the more rewards you get. Eventually, everyone went crazy with killing. Normal people all died, and those alive were lunatics.”

Su Changxing retorted, ”You admit you’re a lunatic.”

The head sneered, ”If you want to survive, you’ll become a lunatic like me. In this situation, no one won’t turn into a lunatic, constantly struggling in death and despair until death.”

The world merged into darkness; night winds surged. Su Changxing ran alone on the vast street. The iron poles of the streetlights glimmered with Bai Ze’s faint light, resembling bone spurs piercing the ground.

All he wanted now was to survive, and if possible, help more people survive.

Another Mysterious Shop was nearby, just a couple of streets to the side.

Having walked over a thousand meters, Su Changxing faintly heard a scream up ahead. Going a bit further, he saw four or five Zombies feasting on a corpse.

He circumvented it, estimating the nearby Mysterious Shop might have been occupied.

”Brother······”

Su Changxing heard a faint cry and looked toward its source, from the bushes.

Who is it?

He tightened his grip on the steel saber, body tense, cautiously approached the bushes, his steps rustling through the grass.

He didn’t know what it was. Was it human or something else? After encountering the ”Giant Infant,” even seeing a ghost wouldn’t surprise him.

With Night Vision, Su Changxing saw a man in the dark bushes. His arms were empty; his hands were cut off at the root, blood flowing from him.

The man lay on the ground, eyes blinking, looking at Su Changxing with faint blue light in them.

[Human: Severely injured, despairing, he seems to have some special ability.]

From the surrounding traces, Su Changxing judged this man had just run here, maybe escaping something.

He squatted at a certain distance, looking at the man, asking, ”What happened?”

The man spat a bloody foam, weakly said, ”I am Wang Baotong, a Security Bureau member... If possible, I request your help. There are Hunters up ahead; we need support.”

He knew anyone brave enough to walk alone at night must have considerable strength.

Su Changxing asked, ”What are Hunters?”

Though he already had a guess.

The man shakily said, ”They should be survivors in this world. They harbor great hostility toward us, and they are formidable, like monsters.”

Su Changxing appraised his injuries, calmly stating, ”You won’t survive.”

The man whispered, ”I know······”

The voice abruptly stopped as a short knife plunged into his temple.

Su Changxing took a deep breath, fingers trembling slightly, then withdrew the short knife. Warm blood spurted out, running down his hand like thick, warm syrup, somewhat sticky, somewhat viscous.

The man’s injuries were too severe to survive. He’d be eaten alive by Zombies shortly, which would be even more painful.

This ended his suffering.

Picked up the phone that fell on the ground.

[Plundered an eliminator, gained 0 points]

”Transferred the points already?”

Su Changxing was a bit surprised but not disappointed. He wasn’t short on points; having more was good, but not having them didn’t matter.

It seemed there were quite a few Security Bureau people nearby, encountering survivors in this world.
