A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Bestial Outburst (Part 5)

Oh, heavens!

Oh, earth!

Could this possibly get any more embarrassing!

”Where are you trying to go?” In contrast to Seraphina Sterling’s turmoil, Terrence Grant seemed completely at ease. Of course, another way to put it was that he was just shameless!

”I’m hungry!” Seraphina Sterling felt a wave of relief when Terrence Grant didn’t bring up the kiss.

”Let’s eat first.” Terrence Grant thoughtfully opened the takeout container and even rinsed the utensils with hot water.

’Am I looking at an alien?’ Seraphina Sterling wondered. ’Terrence Grant went to buy food? I can’t even picture it! I bet he would’ve been kicked out. He’s so arrogant, people at the restaurant would probably assume he was there to pick a fight!’

Seraphina watched the man, who clearly had no intention of giving her the chopsticks and was instead preparing to feed her spoonful by spoonful. The world suddenly felt surreal. She gulped, her mind reeling with doubt. ’Is this really the arrogant, unrestrained young master of the Grant Family I know? Isn’t this attentiveness a little... excessive?’

”Um, I can feed myself.”

Terrence Grant frowned. ”Are you sure?”

To prove she wasn’t so disabled she couldn’t even feed herself, Seraphina Sterling immediately snatched the chopsticks and started filling her poor, empty stomach. When she glanced over and saw Terrence Grant staring at the chopsticks in her hand with a look of regret, her feelings grew even more complicated. ’What has gotten into him today? The longer I look at him, the more unsettling this gets!’

Seraphina Sterling devoured the meal—which she couldn’t decide was dinner or a late-night snack—faster than she ever had in her life.

”All done?” Terrence Grant hadn’t really had an appetite, but watching Seraphina Sterling eat with such gusto, he quickly finished his meal as well. ’Tonight’s dinner is surprisingly delicious!’ he thought.

Seraphina Sterling nodded, worried he was about to start something else. ’Terrence Grant is acting so strangely tonight!’

”Now that we’ve eaten, let’s discuss what happened right before you fainted,” Terrence Grant said, his expression turning serious.

Seraphina Sterling’s stomach instantly dropped. ’So *that’s* what he meant by ”let’s eat *first*.” There was more on the agenda after dinner!’

”Um... about that... I’m not going to press the issue! Just consider it my way of thanking you for your help!” Even after living two lives, Seraphina Sterling still felt shy discussing such matters.

Terrence Grant had been planning to lay his cards on the table. Ever since Hughes’s reminder helped him understand his own heart, he had been looking for the right opportunity to confess to Seraphina Sterling. After today’s events, he felt an even greater need to give her a proper explanation. But he had barely begun, only to be met with such a response. A firestorm of rage ignited in his chest.

”What did you just say? A thank-you gift? Your kiss is that casual? Does that mean anyone who helps you gets to kiss you? Huh?” Terrence Grant exploded with a distinctly masculine fury. The very thought of another man kissing her alluring lips just as he had made the fire in his heart blaze even higher.

Ugh... ’When did I ever say that? There’s definitely something wrong with his brain today. He can’t even understand plain English!’

Seeing Seraphina Sterling’s silence, Terrence Grant took it as a tacit admission. The fury in his heart reached its breaking point and instantly detonated. He grabbed her shoulders and crushed his lips against hers once more.

This wasn’t a kiss. It was a mauling. He was like a crazed beast, biting and tearing at her lips.

Seraphina Sterling pressed her hands between them, pushing hard against his chest. ’This lunatic!’ But her meager strength was useless against a man driven mad. In that moment, she truly understood the overwhelming power he possessed.
