A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Mr. Grant Appears (3)

”The Sloan Family... I left their son half-dead. And you? How do you think I’ll punish you?” Ronan Winters rose to his feet and slowly approached Seraphina Sterling. At six feet tall, his frame instantly enveloped her.

”With your fingers? Your toes? Or your eyes?” He reached out and took a strand of her hair, twisting it around his finger as he leaned close to her ear. ”Or perhaps—your body.”

Logan Grant’s heart seized. ’This man is trouble! What are we going to do? We’re on his turf!’

Seraphina Sterling fought to control her racing heart, forcing her breathing to even out. ”I believe we should be discussing my friend’s situation.”

Ronan Winters froze for a second, then burst out laughing and turned to sit back down on the sofa. ”You’ve got guts! More than any woman I’ve met before, at least!” With a wave of his hand, two large men brought Genevieve Churchill forward.

”Seraphina? Logan Grant? What are you doing here?” Genevieve Churchill stared at them in shock. After a brief pause, she exploded. ”Holy shit! You shameless bastards actually kidnapped me to threaten someone else? Have you no shame? You call yourselves men? Aren’t you embarrassed to be such a disgrace to your gender? Does your mother know you’re this pathetic?”

Genevieve Churchill opened her mouth and unleashed a torrent of insults, her voice the only sound filling the room.

The corner of Logan Grant’s mouth twitched. ’Are all women these days this fearless? One Seraphina Sterling was more than enough, and now there’s a Genevieve Churchill on top of it! Compared to these two, I feel completely outclassed!’

With a sharp SMACK, Genevieve Churchill was slapped across the face. ”Shut your mouth if you want to live!”

Genevieve Churchill stuck out her tongue and licked the blood from the corner of her mouth, then shot him a piercing glare. ”Tch! You lay one more finger on me. I dare you. See if I don’t rip that arm off your body.”

The man wiped the blood she had spat on his face. ”You bitch! You’re asking for it!” he snarled, raising his hand to slap her again.

Just then, the fruit knife in Seraphina Sterling’s hand went flying, its sharp tip burying itself in the fleshy web of the man’s thumb.

”AAAARGH—” The man clutched his bleeding hand and glared at Seraphina Sterling. His vicious gaze was murderous. ”Young Master!”

The room fell instantly silent. No one had expected such a sudden turn of events. All eyes, wide with astonishment, fixed on Seraphina Sterling. ’The distance might have been short, but hitting a hand with a thrown knife? Isn’t that a bit too much like something from a movie? How on earth did this girl do it? And to dare use a knife in front of the Young Master... truly, the ignorant know no fear. The last person who pulled a knife in the Young Master’s presence has probably been reincarnated several times by now.’

”Sir, your subordinate is in dire need of a lesson in manners,” Seraphina Sterling said without a trace of fear. On the contrary, she broke into a faint smile, the dimples on her cheeks making her look all the more radiant and charming.

Logan Grant shot a worried look at Seraphina Sterling. ’Anyone could tell this man was dangerous, but she actually dared to pull a knife on his turf! How can she be so fearless?’

Genevieve Churchill, on the other hand, was overcome with guilt. ’Seraphina only did that for my sake! If this angers that man, the consequences... I don’t even dare to imagine!’

The happiest person in the room was Miles Galloway. He knew Ronan Winters’s temperament better than anyone. ’He hates it when people act out of line in front of him, let alone pull a knife and injure one of his men! All I wanted was to vent my frustration, and now I don’t have to worry about a thing. I can just watch the show and wait for the finale!’
