A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Mr. Grant Appears (7)

Inside the room, after Seraphina Sterling fired, she coughed up a mouthful of blood from the force of Ronan Winters’s kick. She was certain her injury was nearly as severe as his gunshot wound.

”Impressive! It’s been a very, very long time since I’ve been shot! This pain... it’s almost nostalgic.” A smile played on Ronan Winters’s lips, but his words dripped with murderous intent. It was the first time Seraphina Sterling had seen someone threaten another person with such elegance.

”You brought this on yourself! If you hadn’t attacked me, I wouldn’t have fired! It’s good that you can feel pain. At least it proves you’re still alive, not just a walking corpse!” Seraphina Sterling watched him warily, bracing for a sudden attack. ’This man is completely unpredictable!’

”No one who hurts me ever meets a good end!” With that, Ronan Winters drew the pistol from his waistband, his eyes gleaming with excitement. ”Let’s find out... whose gun is faster, and whose is more accurate!”

They fired almost simultaneously. But as Seraphina Sterling pulled the trigger, she dropped to the ground instead of running for cover. As a result, Ronan Winters was hit again, while Seraphina hit the floor and immediately rolled aside, dodging his bullet.

”So? Had enough?” Seraphina Sterling panted. ’If I’d been a fraction of a second slower, there’d be a gaping hole in me right now.’

”Compete? Of course, we’ll compete!” Ronan Winters seemed to feel no pain. His eyes were bloodshot, like a starving wolf’s. ’It’s been so long since I’ve felt this kind of danger!’

This time, Seraphina Sterling didn’t dare to make a reckless move. She took cover by the window, waiting for Ronan Winters to attack.

Just as Ronan Winters was about to pull the trigger, the door was kicked clean off its hinges!

”Ronan Winters! We’ve always stayed out of each other’s way, but you dared to kidnap my brother and beat him to a pulp. You’ve got some real nerve!” Terrence Grant stormed in, radiating pure fury.

”Mr. Grant, I’m afraid there’s been a misunderstanding.” Ronan Winters holstered his pistol. He glanced past Terrence Grant and saw Logan Grant, his face so bruised and swollen he was almost unrecognizable. Ronan’s brow furrowed involuntarily. ’The Grant family is not to be trifled with.’

”Misunderstanding? Bro! There’s no misunderstanding! None at all! He kidnapped one of my classmates, too!” Every word Logan Grant spoke sent a jolt of pain through his lips. ”Seraphina Sterling! Seraphina Sterling! My brother’s here! We’re safe now!”

Seraphina Sterling frowned. ’Was that Terrence Grant’s voice?’

’Seraphina Sterling?’ Terrence Grant’s pupils constricted. ’She’s here too?’ He had only been away on a mission for less than a month, and somehow she had already managed to provoke the Winters Family.

What angered him most was that she had faced this kind of crisis and hadn’t asked him for help. If Logan hadn’t called him to the rescue, he might never have known she was in danger. Terrence Grant was in a foul mood.

Seraphina Sterling stepped out and glanced at Terrence Grant’s ashen face. ’He seems to be in a terrible mood! Is it because Logan dragged him into this mess?’ It never occurred to her that his anger might be related to her own situation.

”Bro, these two are my friends. I’m taking them with me!” With Terrence Grant there, Logan Grant had all the backup he needed, and his voice rang with confidence.

”No. You can take Logan Grant and the other girl, but Seraphina Sterling stays. We have unfinished business.” Ronan Winters rejected the demand without a moment’s hesitation.

Terrence Grant’s eyes swept over the two gunshot wounds on Ronan Winters’s body. ”If you value your life, I’d advise you not to get into a shootout with Seraphina Sterling. Even king can’t hit her. What makes you think you can?”
