Nina Jacobs had been thinking a lot these past two days.

Establishing a base hadn’t been her original intention, but now that it was built, she had to be responsible for it.

She needed a public-facing administrator.

This administrator couldn’t just be a puppet. He had to have his own ideas, be willing to contribute to the base, and want to grow and become stronger along with it.

Among the trustworthy people around her, she believed Felix Finch was the most suitable.

”I’ll be spending more time away from the base from now on, and it needs someone in charge. I hope you’ll be that person.”

Nina Jacobs finally stopped walking and looked at Felix Finch.

She had considered Mirelle Keller, but for Mirelle, the most important thing was revenge.

That wasn’t the case for Felix.

Even if it was just for Freya Finch’s sake, he wouldn’t risk the entire base.

’Going away?’

Felix Finch could understand, more or less, after hearing her explanation.

If she just needed someone to take over while she was away, he could accept.

”Okay, I understand. I’ll do as you say.”

Felix Finch replied.

Nina Jacobs nodded in satisfaction.

Just then, Lynn Carter and the others arrived.

”What are you all doing here?” Felix asked.

It was already evening, time for rest.

”I... I still have some Superpower left to use up,” Lynn Carter said, a little embarrassed.

”Us too. We just recovered some.”

The others also walked up to the water tanks and, without another word, began to conjure water.

Felix Finch and Nina Jacobs exchanged a glance, then smiled in unison.

”Miss Jacobs.”

Seeing Nina Jacobs about to leave, Lynn Carter hurried over.

”Is something wrong?” Nina asked.

Lynn Carter nodded. ”It’s about what I said before, about wanting to go back to Lornwood Base...”

Lynn Carter had changed her mind.

She wanted to bring her family here.

She just didn’t know if Nina Jacobs would help her.

”Of course. If that’s the case, you won’t have to go to Lornwood Base yourselves. It would be too dangerous,” Nina Jacobs said.

Given the current situation at Lornwood Base, anyone who wasn’t a Water Element Superpower User could enter and leave freely.

Lynn Carter and the others had been smuggled out of Lornwood Base by Tristan Lynch’s group. Going back would be no different from walking right into a trap.

”Is that really okay?”

Lynn Carter asked, pleasantly surprised.

She had thought Nina Jacobs wouldn’t agree.

”As long as they’re still alive, there’s no reason why not.”

After Nina Jacobs agreed, a few other Water Element Superpower Users in a similar situation to Lynn Carter also changed their minds.

”Are you planning to go to Lornwood Base alone? That’s too dangerous.”

Felix Finch said as they walked away from The Aquifer.

Although he had never been to Lornwood Base, he knew that if the people there found out Nina Jacobs was from Tomorrow Base, they probably wouldn’t let her return so easily.

”Wayne Warner will be with me, and besides, no one at Lornwood Base knows who I am.”

Nina Jacobs planned to set out in three days.

The news that Felix Finch had become the person in charge of Tomorrow Base spread quickly.

Tristan Lynch and his group felt like their world was ending.

So much so that when Nina Jacobs opened her door in the early morning, she saw five people waiting for her outside.

”Sta— Miss Jacobs, my injuries have healed. You haven’t forgotten about us, have you?”

Tristan Lynch said with a hint of grievance after stepping inside.

”Your injuries have healed completely?” Nina asked.

Of course she hadn’t forgotten about Tristan Lynch and his group.

Last night, she had even checked their Friendship levels in the system.

She found that they were all surprisingly high.

Especially Tristan Lynch. His Friendship had reached 82.

This shocked her.

After all, these people were all from The Aegis Conclave.

Tristan Lynch thought Nina Jacobs was worried about his injuries and immediately replied,

”Thanks to you, Miss Jacobs, my injuries have completely healed.”

”It seems your constitution is quite good,” Nina Jacobs didn’t forget to praise him.

Tristan Lynch had indeed been on the verge of death at the time.

Achilles Renner’s Metal Wheel had sliced his abdomen clean open.

She had hesitated about whether to save him, but in the end, she used a bottle of ”Healing Potion” on him.

”Hehehe, as a Superpower User, my constitution is naturally a bit better. But I heard you’ve appointed Felix Finch, Miss Jacobs? Are you sure there’s no problem with using him?”

Tristan Lynch asked tentatively.

Only they and Felix Finch knew best how they had treated him back then.

He suspected Felix’s next move would be to kill them.

This was one of the reasons why Lachlan and Corisande hadn’t dared to show their faces for the past two days.

”Do you know how many people are in Tomorrow Base right now?” Nina Jacobs asked mysteriously.

”200? Less than 200?”

Tristan Lynch didn’t know why Nina Jacobs was bringing this up.

”And what about Lornwood Base?” Nina asked again.

”20,000—oh no, was it 30,000 or 40,000,” Lachlan answered.

”Exactly. Once Tomorrow Base makes a name for itself, Lornwood Base will surely see it as a thorn in its side,” Nina Jacobs said.

After all, she had already made them a grand promise, and now she had to make good on it.

Tristan Lynch now understood Nina Jacobs’s meaning.

Tens of thousands against a few hundred—the disparity in strength was too great.

As the saying goes, the nail that sticks out gets hammered down. Promoting Felix Finch so heavily was actually setting him up for a fall.

”So Miss Jacobs is this farsighted. We understand now,” Tristan Lynch said, enlightened.

”Good, as long as you understand. I have some supplies that need to be collected from a few places. Since your injuries have healed, I’ll have to trouble you to make another trip.”

Just like before, Nina Jacobs took out a map with several supply points marked on it.

Beside it was a list of supplies.

”This... pots, bowls, pans, gas stoves, gas canisters...”

Tristan Lynch and his group glanced at the list, momentarily suspecting that Nina Jacobs had given them the wrong one.

”They’re all essential supplies,” Nina Jacobs replied.

Most of the items she was sending Tristan Lynch and his group to collect were things the base would need in the future.

Gralem Prison currently had a small amount of supplies, but it was far too little for a base.

These things weren’t too difficult to find right now, just time-consuming and labor-intensive.

”We guarantee we’ll complete the mission!”

Tristan Lynch replied, bracing himself.

Nina Jacobs nodded. ”Be careful.”

Today, she had to build the final defensive line—the one furthest from the base.

For the zombies, this trap would be their first obstacle.

Nina Jacobs planned to use the simplest design: a deep pit with spikes.

Of course, the pit needed to be covered with a thin layer of road surface. If a large number of zombies attacked, this surface would surely break, causing the zombies on top to fall into the trap.

Two consecutive days of high-intensity Superpower use hadn’t left Nina Jacobs feeling drained. Instead, it made her control over her Earth Element Superpower much more fluid.

Digging out the trap was as easy as flipping her hand.

Cordelia noticed this too, because it only took her and Nina Jacobs the better part of a day to complete the final trap.

”Someone’s coming.”

Felix Finch had also finished clearing out the nearby zombies with his team.

His Spiritual Element Superpower could detect the situation around the base.

There was a large number of them—a full two hundred people.

”It must be Mirelle Keller and the others, returning.”

Nina Jacobs’s guess was correct.

After hearing about the situation here, Thaddeus Wren had brought everyone from Pyralia.

”Tobin went to Lornwood Base first, and so did Rhonda Rowan.”

Reginald Sutton said to Nina Jacobs after getting out of the car.

”I know. He let me know beforehand.”
