Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Prize Roulette, Dragon Flute

Because there’s no loophole to exploit here, the exchange prices are clearly calculated.

However, among the building blueprints that can be exchanged, Zong Shen will only consider exchanging for active defense buildings like defense towers, and will not exchange for things like city walls or road barriers.

Since defense towers are all one-time blueprints, normally one set of defense tower blueprints can only construct one building, with many restrictions, whereas things like city walls and road barriers can be repeatedly constructed as long as one has mastered the blueprints, with some resources and time spent.

Another point is the cost issue; the blueprint to exchange for one section of Tier One City Wall requires 22 points, and the material cost is 20 points, with a premium of 2 points since a complete blueprint can be directly placed without labor and with a very short construction time, so the premium of 2 points is quite normal.

Nevertheless, the consumption of city walls is too great. Each section of the city wall measures 10 meters; taking Zong Shen’s current inner wall as an example, with 20 meters left in the middle section of each of the four sides of the city walls, and each side being 180 meters, the total length of the four city walls is 720 meters. Just this part alone requires 1582 points, and this is only Tier One City Wall, only the inner wall part.

As for Tiers Two, Three, and Four, needless to say, they can’t be exchanged for easily. However, Zong Shen can exchange some high-level city walls for the front-line position, which can extend the existence time and resist more attacks.

The exchange points for Tier Three City Wall are 80 points per section, with a durability value of 4000 points, armor value of 60 points, and magic resistance of 30 points, Zong Shen spent 800 points to exchange for 10 sections of Tier Three as a reserve.

Next, he began procuring defense arrow towers, spending a hefty 6000 points to exchange for 6 Tier One Arrow Towers, 3 Tier Two Arrow Towers, and 1 Tier Three Arrow Tower. As for Tier Four Arrow Towers, Zong Shen did not consider them at all because they are too expensive.

Exchanging some Tier Two and Tier Three arrow towers can improve the territory’s capability to deal damage to high armor Captain Level and even Commander Level enemies.

Though Tier One Arrow Towers are cheap, when facing high armor enemies, their damage becomes quite limited.

The configuration of arrow tower strength still needs to be balanced, forming a pyramid-shaped gradient combination to face enemies at various stages and respond calmly.

The equipment plus the building blueprints cost Zong Shen a total of 10472 points. Due to the time stop state, Zong Shen’s points no longer increase, leaving only 2997 points now.

The most important defense buildings have already been arranged, and Zong Shen has no concerns left.

He consecutively opened the fourth category option [Support Items], where there are some simple types of support items.

Including [Basic Recovery Potion], [Ordinary Hemostatic Bandage], [Witchcraft Apprentice’s Potion Soup] as healing items, and also some foods, drinking water, cold-resistant warm clothing, cooling summer gadgets.

The entire Endless Continent is extremely vast, with scattered territories everywhere having various geographical conditions and climatic disasters in all shapes and sizes, so the appearance of these items in [Support Items] doesn’t make anyone feel strange.

portion of food and drinking water each requires just 2 points to exchange, equivalent to 10 portions of basic resources ratio, the price is fairly friendly.

Medical items are relatively expensive, with basic potions requiring 30 points, and bandages also needing 15 points, and potion soup capable of curing colds and flu like diseases requiring 15 points for each portion.

Zong Shen thought about it without purchasing basic potions, as the territory has a Moon God Spring, and basic potions can be made through medicine making once the pharmacy is built, and the necessary raw materials are easy to obtain.

He eventually purchased 20 portions of [Ordinary Hemostatic Bandage], 10 portions of [Witchcraft Apprentice’s Potion Soup], spending 450 points.

The other materials are temporarily not needed, as the climate of this pasture is quite pleasant, neither too cold nor too hot.

After procuring support items, Zong Shen’s points remain at 2547 points.

Zong Shen plans to look at the [Points Lottery], testing his luck.

If luck is bad or the lottery requires too many points, Zong Shen will use the remaining points to purchase equipment or building blueprints for defense buildings.

Opening [Points Lottery], the options are simple and straightforward within ten minutes.

There is only one wheel displayed therein.

About a hundred small sections on top of it, all without labeled information, with a fixed pointer in the middle.

[Exciting and tense wheel of fortune]

[Spend 500 points to spin the pointer and draw one random item]

[The wheel of fortune does not limit the upper and lower limits of rewards, nor does it limit the types of rewards]

[The higher the quality, the rarer the item, the lower the probability of drawing it]

[(Click to spend points and start drawing)]

(Lucky dog’s favorite, trust your luck, it’s not bad to try your hand)

After Zong Shen read the system remarks below the wheel and the strategy note, he vaguely felt this thing was a bit of a pit.

Especially because it does not limit the upper and lower limits of rewards, and with that sentence about the lower probability of drawing higher-level items, it fully proves the water here is deep and probably uncontrollable.

And the price of 500 points is not cheap, equivalent to 2500 portions of wood, many lords may not even have enough possessions to draw once.

”Let me try once and see how it goes!”

”After all, it’s just 500 points, I ain’t short on money!”

After hesitating for a while Zong Shen still decided to test the waters anyway, after all, he isn’t short on these points.

He clicked to draw, 500 points were directly deducted, and the wheel began to spin rapidly.

Within seconds, the wheel stopped, the pointer aimed at one of the squares, and the wheel began to glow, a prompt appeared while his storage grid also gained an item.

[Drawing successful]

[Acquired: Pet Contract (Purple)]

Drawing a Rare Level item right off the bat was beyond Zong Shen’s expectations, also immediately lifting his spirits.

”This time my luck isn’t bad!”

”Lucky indeed!”

Zong Shen had previously obtained this pet contract, and Blood-toothed Wild Boar Eight Immortals was a contracted pet.

However, the contract he got back then was only of Green Quality; this time he drew a Purple Rare Level one, which is absolutely not on the same level of rarity.

[Pet Contract (Purple)]

[Can be used to contract any non-humanoid wild creature. The success rate fluctuates depending on the state of the creature, with a base success rate of 60%]

(How about finding a mate for Pigsy? Then next year there’d be a bunch of piglets in the territory.)

Ignoring the teasing strategy, Zong Shen’s gaze returned to the wheel again. The Purple Pet Contract had a higher base success rate, so when encountering some powerful monsters in the future, he could fully attempt to contract and subdue them.

Currently, Zong Shen still had 2047 points, enough for four more draws. Having tasted success, he was now filled with anticipation for the lottery, and a gambler’s mentality began to take hold.

”One more time!”

He clicked to draw again.

The wheel began to spin, and a few seconds later it stopped, once again with flickering lights. This time Zong Shen was a bit disappointed at the prompt that appeared.

[Draw Successful]

[Acquired: Soft Toast Bread ×16]

He had only drawn food, spending 500 points just to get 16 pieces of toast bread, a real loss this time!

Zong Shen refused to give in, and the gambler’s mentality made him a bit reckless and hopeful, so he immediately started drawing again!

[Draw Successful]

[Acquired: Kodo Beast’s feces ×6]

...

[Draw Successful]

[Acquired: Villager’s Beloved Handkerchief ×1]

...

In a row, two rounds of the lottery resulted in gray items that were utterly useless.

Especially that [Kodo Beast’s feces], even though it was noted below to be ”high-quality fertilizer,” Zong Shen still felt frustrated!

It was almost insulting.

After three attempts without gain, Zong Shen couldn’t help but feel that the wheel’s trickery ran deep...

Now with only 547 points left, he could draw for a reward one more time. Gritting his teeth, Zong Shen decided to give it one last shot!

If he drew another useless item this time, he swore never to draw again!

Zong Shen concentrated, clicked one final time to draw, and the wheel began to spin. His nervousness grew.

The panel’s light flickered and gradually stopped, and a prompt appeared.

[Draw Successful]

[Acquired: Dragon Flute (Special) ×1]

A new item that he had never seen before was added to his storage grid.

He was now left with only 47 points, not enough to participate in the Wheel of Fortune again.

Even if he wanted to draw, he couldn’t; even if he wanted to regret it, there was no turning back.

Deciding to just close the [Points Exchange], he focused on opening the storage grid to examine the item called the Dragon Flute.

This was a flute carved out of bone, with a rather rough design and uneven bone joint marks on its body.

The most important thing was that this item was only marked with the word (Special), with no indication of its quality or color.

This was quite unusual. The last item Zong Shen obtained without a displayed grade was the [Mysterious Broken Horn] marked as (Unknown).

Now he wondered what significance this Dragon Flute held.

[Dragon Flute (Special)]

[A peculiar dragon flute made from the nasal bone of a Tusked Black Dragon, which when played can attract nearby wandering giant dragons]

(The only dragon flute on the continent, created by the ancient Dragon Slayer Warriors Basda Budra a thousand years ago. When played, it emits a special sound wave that can greatly attract nearby wandering giant dragons, which might be handy in the future.)

A flute capable of attracting giant dragons, but as far as Zong Shen was concerned, it was of no practical use for now...

Even if these creatures were attracted, they would not be easy to get along with, let alone follow his commands. Currently, the power gap between Zong Shen and the giant dragons was too vast.

Without a relatively balanced strength, it would be hard to demonstrate any impressive maneuvers, even though the hints in the strategy seemed to imply something.

In the short term, this thing would likely just be collecting dust.

Overall, the five points lotteries couldn’t be called hugely profitable, but neither was it a significant loss, and Zong Shen’s mood returned to normal.

He closed all the glowing screens and quietly awaited the end of the Time Stop Effect.

The temporary opening of the points exchange this time around was like rain in a drought for all the lords, alleviating the ever-increasing pressure of the Burrow Challenge.
