Chapter 197: Chapter 197: Demon State, Spear of Calamity

He remembered the remarks from the previous strategy; after devouring this [Blood-Drinking Demon’s Heart] in the Demon State, the Demon Transformation skills would exhibit some unusual changes.

Thinking of this, he opened [Personal] and began to check his attributes.

All the attributes didn’t have any obvious changes, but the Life Value directly increased by 400 points, from 488 points to 888 points. In addition, the mass killing of the Spider Web Monsters had increased his Level by one, becoming lv19, with seven or eight thousand experience points needed to reach lv20.

After the rule adjustments at the end of the Newbie Stage, the state reset after leveling up is not as dominant as before. It can only clear some negative states, heal some not very serious injuries, but injuries like the penetrating wound under Zong Shen’s ribs, or severed limbs, disability, etc., cannot heal instantly, only allowing the wounds to begin to improve.

He glanced at the attributes and turned his gaze towards [Skills].

In the skills list, the original [Demon Transformation] has become [Demon State].

There were some slight changes in the skill’s name.

Zong Shen expanded the details and began to peruse.

[Skill: Demon State]

[Demon State: Transform into a powerful demon, increasing the base damage value by 1.65 times, base Life Value by 2.5 times, attack speed by 1.35 times, Armor Value and Magic Resistance by 2.2 times, with 30% physical damage immunity, and able to absorb 10% of the damage dealt to enemies as one’s own Life Value.

Weapon attack will inflict an additional 30 points of Chaos Damage and you can throw Chaos Light Balls for ranged attacks, with a maximum attack distance of 80 meters, the damage attribute is Chaos Damage that ignores armor, the Duration is 3 minutes, Cooling Time is 60 hours)

Passive Effect: Splash shot lv10 (attacks in Demon State can cause splash effects, dealing 50% of this attack’s damage to up to three surrounding targets)

Demon’s Heart (Life Value increases by 400 in daily state and Demon State. When Life Value is below 10%, entering a near-death state will awaken the Demon Will, triggering the power of the Demon’s Heart, forcing one entry into Demon State for one minute, restoring 100% Life Value, during which the Demon Will takes over the body, this effect will have an opportunity once every 72 hours)]

(After absorbing the power of the Demon’s Heart, your Demon Transformation skills have been enhanced. There are many types of demons, and their essential power is born in the rift between the twists and counterbalance of Light and Void. This is a powerful force, but remember not to get lost in the power of the demon, the most powerful strength is always within your heart)

Zong Shen carefully reviewed the detailed changes of [Demon State] and the strategy remarks filled with some warning implications and seemed to ponder over something.

Thinking back now, entering the Demon State indeed felt great, that omnipotent sense of power was intoxicating, the demon’s power and traits are truly strong.

The Cooling Time of [Demon State] was shortened by 12 hours compared to the original [Demon Transformation], Duration increased by 2 minutes, there is no 10 minutes of weakness state after the Duration ends, and the attribute gain in all aspects has increased. Two more passive effects have been added, increasing the group damage capability in Demon State and the survival ability in daily state.

Although letting the Demon Will take over the body for a minute is somewhat unreliable, in the near-death state it absolutely equates to having an additional life-saving card.

After all, [Demon Transformation] is a skill constrained under Lord’s Rules, a kind of existence that has been dataized, but no matter how formidable the Demon’s Heart is, integrating with [Demon Transformation] has to abide by the constraints of the Lord’s Rules.

Overall, [Demon State] is definitely a trump card skill that can be used as a killer move. Zong Shen’s strength will also be greatly improved because of it, and to him, such trump card-type skills are beneficial in abundance.

Usually maintaining the daily state, enemies cannot correctly assess his strength. At critical moments, entering the Demon State instantly doubles the strength, able to immediately reverse the battlefield situation.

Even when defeated, there is still one chance to reverse in a near-death state, entering the Demon State for a minute, with the Demon Will taking over the body. This amounts to an extra life, a true life-saving skill.

Zong Shen closed the personal attribute information and sat down on the edge of the pool, the entire Blood Pool had completely dried up, revealing the exposed rock bottom below, where many pieces of armor and weapons were submerged, along with shells and Blade Legs from the Spider Web Monsters.

The Evil Blood Pool couldn’t dissolve these things, and after being absorbed by the Demon’s Heart, they all fell to the bottom of the pool. At this time, the warriors under Zong Shen gathered them all up and piled them in front of Zong Shen.

Among them, the Calamity Battle Spear of the Spider Web Monster Lord and the Longbow of the Spider Web Monster Queen Airena, their weapons, and armor were separately collected.

Korby and another Wolf Cavalry struggled together to carry the Calamity Battle Spear to Zong Shen.

”My Lord, this is the Long Spear previously used by the Spider Web Monster Lord...”

”Whew... it’s particularly heavy.”

Korby reported with panting breath, and the two of them brought the Giant Spear to the front of Zong Shen, placing it on the ground.

”Clang!”

The Giant Spear fell and struck the solid rock bottom, making a clear clang sound.

Zong Shen looked at this Calamity Battle Spear with interest, showing a keen expression on his face.

An ordinary Wolf Cavalry’s strength is more than twenty points, after enhancement and upgrade, Korby’s Strength Attribute has reached more than thirty points.

Nonetheless, they needed to work together to carry this Spear of Calamity, indicating its weight was no less than the Dragon-Slaying Heavy Sword, knowing that the Strength Requirement of the Dragon-Slaying Heavy Sword was as high as 42 points.

This Long Spear is nearly three meters long, in proportion to the five-meter-plus stature of the Spider Web Monster Lord Leopold, it is just a Short Spear, but in front of Zong Shen, this thing is a Giant Spear, merely the spear body is as thick as an arm, covered with Magic Runes on the surface, the spearhead even flickers with a black gleam, appearing quite extraordinary.

[Broken Calamity Battle Lance (Orange)]

[Broken State, Attributes/Durability Decline]

[One-Handed/Two-Handed]

[Quality: Legendary Level]

[Piercing Damage: 86~89]

[Blunt Damage: 54~57]

[Attack Range: 295]

[Attack Speed: -16%]

[Durability: 0]

[Strength Requirement: 48]

[Skill: Death Spear lv20 (Throw the Calamity Battle Spear, maximum range 200 meters, inflicts 2.0 times piercing damage on the target, 35% chance to cause crippling effect, after throwing, the Calamity Battle Spear will automatically return, cooling time 4 hours)

Calamity Incarnation lv10 (Transform into Calamity, within 5 minutes increase life value limit by 30%, armor value and magic resistance by 20%, attack power by 15%, movement speed by 10%, attack carries 20% disease effect, after duration ends, will fall into 10 minutes of weakened state, all attributes decrease by 25%, cooling time 28 hours)]

(Weapon of the Calamity Giant Chief, forged from Celestial Calamity Demon Iron, broke in half during a brutal battle, this part was found in the mine ruins by Spider Web Monster Lord, the other half was picked up in the chaos of those days and transformed into a Calamity Long Rod, now stored in the treasure vault of Count Douglas’s mansion in Lentax Giant City, if both parts are gathered, there’s a chance to fully repair it)

Zong Shen reviewed the attributes and notes regarding the Calamity and realized it’s another battle-damaged legendary weapon.

However, because it is a spear, the damage isn’t as severe as the Dragon-Slaying Heavy Sword, showing better attributes and durability than the Dragon-Slaying Heavy Sword.

Moreover, this piece has another part that was picked up and lost to the outside world and transformed into a Calamity Long Rod, now stored in the mansion of Count Douglas in Lentates Giant City.

It can be imagined that if it weren’t for the damage, this battle spear would be at least five meters long, only giants standing six to seven meters tall or other tall races of creatures could flexibly wield it.

Even now, after breaking, for an ordinary human like Zong Shen, it’s still considered a giant spear, nearly three meters in length aside, even the girthy spear shaft is exaggerated, ordinary humans find it hard to grasp, even if they meet the strength requirements to use it, it’s tough to combat freely.

Zong Shen stood up, gripping the spear shaft with effort, only able to grasp it reluctantly with strength of 43 points, swinging it is laborious, it can only be stored for now, kept as a reserve.

Beside the battle spear is Leopold’s armor, regrettably mostly ruined, scars all over, and size is unsuitable, requiring repair and modification.

On the other side, the Spider Web Monster Empress’s equipment is mostly intact, armor size fits well, the Empress only has a large abdomen below, upper body is similar to humans, with some modification to the chest, Zong Shen could wear it, besides the armor, the longbow looks quite good too.

Zong Shen held it, pressing the bow limb lightly with a hand, the feedback elasticity is robust and strong, it’s truly a good bow.

[Horned Eagle Battle Bow (Purple)]

[Two-Handed]

[Quality: Rare Level]

[Piercing Damage: 59~62]

[Effective Range: 400 meters]

[Effective Firing Height: 260 meters]

[Attack Speed: +8%]

[Durability: 320]

[Agility Requirement: 32]

[Strength Requirement: 25]

[Skill: Split Shot lv10 (Enter Split Shot state, each shot arrow fires two additional split arrows to the sides, causing 50% of this attack’s damage to surrounding enemies, lasts 5 minutes, cooling time 2 hours)

Summon Horned Eagle lv15 (Summon a lv15 rideable Horned Eagle Battle Beast, duration 20 minutes, cooling time 8 hours)]

(Standard weapon of Tier Five Elf Race soldiers, Horned Eagle Shooters from ten thousand years ago, discovered by Leopold in ruins, gifted to Spider Web Monster Empress Airena)

Attributes of this longbow are quite good, although not comparable to broken legendary weapons, it’s still a very excellent longbow.

Granting it to Wenresa, it can replace her excellent level [Windwalker Longbow], maximizing her combat ability.
