Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 153: Chapter 153: Anticipating Crisis from a Macro Perspective

Zong Shen felt a sense of nostalgia in his heart.

Don’t be fooled by his seemingly carefree and relaxed demeanor.

He was already among the top echelon of Lords.

Even with cheats and strategies at his disposal, he found the current situation rather vile.

Surely, other Lords must be feeling even worse.

Especially after the official period, when rules were adjusted, and survival became even more challenging.

The many trivial development and construction issues were enough to frustrate the Lords, not to mention the Burrow Challenge that now loomed.

After attending to the feverish farmer, Zong Shen extinguished the little spark of fantasy in his heart.

He felt somewhat listless.

He let Aisha and Luna roam freely.

Zong Shen wandered in the territory, hands clasped behind his back, taking advantage of the dimming daylight.

Eight plots of Basic-Level Fertile Land formed two square formations.

Each square covered an area of 400 square meters, which was a little over half an acre.

They had been fully tilled and seeded.

One square was planted entirely with wheat, while the other was planted with sprouting potatoes and tomatoes.

Tomato seeds were found within the fruit and needed to be extracted, then sprouted and planted.

The two female farmers chosen by Zong Shen, Erya and Xiaoping, were skilled in planting and farming, evidently having abundant experience.

The farmland was well tended.

As the territory’s population grows, a reward mechanism will be necessary.

This will help stimulate labor enthusiasm.

Currently, they could still willingly work for free, but once the territory becomes formalized, with commerce and urban characteristics, a complete economic system must be established, replacing collective labor’s concentrated benefits with residential taxation.

After all, these farmers are not Zong Shen’s serfs, and he did not wish to be a mere farm owner.

Looking at the current situation, reaching the point of establishing an economic system requires a stable development period.

Currently, 1218 units of Wood and 958 units of hemp remain in the territory.

This includes resources previously acquired from the territory of Sangui Yingshu and the Lord named Guan Hai’an.

As well as resources gained from the market listing and territory gathering.

Several Kobolds specialized in stone mining, while farmers and Goblin Rippers handled hemp and Wood gathering.

Overall efficiency was quite impressive.

Not long ago, three new Tier One Elemental Arrow Towers were constructed, otherwise, the resource inventory could have been higher.

The remaining resources are enough to construct nineteen sections of wall.

Zong Shen first came to the back of the territory, where sixty meters of wall was needed to reach the planned length of two hundred meters.

A twenty-meter gap was left in the middle as a reserved space for a gate.

After placing four sections of wall, he went to the west side and placed eight sections, again leaving a twenty-meter gap in the middle for the future gate, temporarily blocked with a Tier One Road Barrier in the meantime.

The remaining resources were enough to build seven sections of the wall.

At this point, the western and northern edges of the walls had completely closed off.

Zong Shen decided to continue construction on the east side, starting at the corner from north to east.

After placing all, he called San Pang to arrange manpower for construction.

Each section’s construction time is forty-two minutes.

After finishing this phase, it was completely done.

Of the buildings constructed at noon, only the unfinished Tier Two Elemental Arrow Tower in the small courtyard still required approximately two to three hours.

During this time, the Wolf Cavalry and defensive Arrow Towers had repelled several waves of Burrow Monsters.

As time passed, more and more monsters emerged from other burrows.

The quantity of Burrow Monsters roaming the land exceeded those being destroyed.

This resulted in the total number of Burrow Monsters in the wild increasing along a curve.

Moreover, the number of territories capable of attracting burrows was relatively fixed.

All Burrow Monsters attracted to the same target would eventually converge and form groups.

Starting with a few, then a dozen, a hundred, a thousand, or even more clustering.

Zong Shen stood in the territory’s pasture, already planning ahead for potential challenges.

Once a monster tide forms, the impact is greatest on the frontline soloing the burrows.

With fortifications and troop advantages, holding a burrow entrance wasn’t particularly difficult.

But once Burrow Monsters began forming elsewhere, they faced a two-front dilemma.

Another variable needed consideration: burrows refreshed at noon daily, increasing intensity.

Today was only the first-level intensity; by tomorrow noon, Tier Two intensity would begin.

The enhancement ratio of intensity remained unknown, but eventually, low-level and high-level Burrow Monsters would mix.

It would form different power tiers, like a true wave of monster tides.

With endurance and impact.

The distribution of burrows was entirely random.

Meaning in the same area, certain places had higher monster density.

Additionally, territory size also had some impact.

In this Burrow Challenge, many Lords might suffer significant losses.

Even Zong Shen dared not be complacent.

Only by constructing as many defense buildings as possible or utilizing terrain to reduce defense difficulty could they overcome this challenge.

Once this challenge is surmounted and Points Exchange begins, they could grow stronger in a wave.

It’s a forceful push for Lords to face the challenge.

If they respond passively, even if surviving the Burrow Challenge, they’d miss the chance to strengthen, reducing the likelihood of overcoming subsequent challenges.

The aim is for all Lords to exert full effort into developing and fighting!

Simultaneously weeding out Lords lagging in development, passive, and oblivious to the situation.

Only retaining those with high quality and aptitude.

It’s a sieve, conducting repeated selection!

Weeding out the stragglers, retaining potential Lords.

The cost of exclusion is death.

Zong Shen forecasts crisis from a macro perspective.

According to his predictions, the first outbreak should occur on the third and fourth days of the challenge.

”The walls must be fully completed within three days!”

”Defense buildings are far from sufficient, but in three days, all Ancient Guardians should have matured.”

Zong Shen pondered solutions and suddenly remembered the first planted Ancient Guardian, which should’ve fully grown by now!

By now, the sky had safely darkened.

Completion of two walls significantly increased the territory’s sense of security.

Yet, around the territory, the shouts of Wolf Cavalry and the sound of arrows still occasionally broke the silence.

These sounds attested to the lurking monsters in the darkness, constantly assailing the territory.
