While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Radio Tower and Radar

After waiting for quite a while, Rowan Rhodes didn’t see anyone use a Positioning Card on her. It was actually a little bit of a shame! After all, she had been preparing for a raft war for a long time. Fish Spear Guns, Burning Bullets. Both of these were formidable weapons for dealing with rafts. It seemed these people didn’t have the guts.

As for her using a Positioning Card to seek out others, Rowan paused. She felt that robbing other people’s rafts wasn’t as good as developing her own! Because the Speed of robbing couldn’t match the Speed of her own development. Besides, she didn’t have any targets at the moment. Nor did she want the blood of innocent players on her hands.

”More and more people are using Positioning Cards.”

”My god! What are they trying to do?”

”It feels like a storm of blood and gore has suddenly broken out.”

”Boohoo, I won’t get targeted, will I?”

”Right now, the players announced across the whole server are basically the top-ranked ones. They look down on us in the back rows! I think I’m quite safe for now, but who knows about the future.”

”That’s true!”

”It’s the early stage of the game right now, so the numbers are relatively low. In the future, more and more people will use Positioning Cards.”

”We’re just trying to play the game properly, yet there’s actually robbing going on.”

”Anyway, let’s just stay far away from these named big shots!”

”I noticed that the big shot, Rowan Rhodes, hasn’t launched any attacks on players. Did she not have time to use one, or does she not have any?”

”Shh, don’t remind her!”

”Maybe the big shot just looks down on us small fries for now!”

”And if she sets her sights on us later?”

”Just don’t worry about it anyway; it won’t be your turn.”

”I feel like she isn’t the type to initiate an attack, as long as you don’t provoke her.”

”...”

Watching the topic of Positioning Cards circle round and round only to land back on herself, Rowan fell silent. Quite a lot of people were indeed keeping tabs on her every move. Well, there were also quite a few who understood her. Seeing that most players had already put their guard up, Rowan turned her attention back to her own affairs. The issue with the Positioning Cards wouldn’t end anytime soon; it would likely even intensify. If any individual or team really targeted her, she wasn’t afraid.

Rowan continued inspecting the sunken ship Map. On the Map, the coordinates of various sunken ships were directly displayed. And the hidden information revolved around the islands near these shipwrecks. However, just having the coordinates wasn’t enough, because she didn’t know the coordinates of her raft’s current location either. So she had to determine her own coordinates first. This involved the blueprints she obtained from the abandoned airplane: the radio tower and the radar.

The radio tower could search for signals and transmit them over greater distances, meeting the requirements for long-range communication. The radar could display islands and resource points within a certain radius. It could be said that the radio tower served the radar. First, the radio tower would be used to locate the signal point, and once there, the radar would determine the specific details. She had two radars; right now, she only needed to craft the radio tower.

[Radio Tower: Wooden Board x10, plastic x14, circuit board x6, Hinge x1, bolt x4, scrap iron x8, copper ingot x2, blueprint x1.]

Once it was crafted, Rowan prepared to place it. Both the radio tower and the radar needed to be placed on the second floor or higher. Rowan set up the brackets and wiring for the radio tower and radar on the third floor. As for the receiver, Rowan placed it right outside her room’s door. From her door, she conveniently had a field of view of over two hundred degrees, allowing her to make adjustments at any time based on what she saw and what the radar displayed. Even the Steering Wheel was placed nearby by Rowan. This spot effectively became a control room.

Right now, there were few things—just the Steering Wheel, the radio tower receiver, and the radar display. But once the raft’s Equipment was upgraded later on, they could be integrated together to form a modern control room. By then, the controls for the entire raft could be centralized in one place. In this life, the raft’s development was truly so much faster. Rowan couldn’t wait to reach her previous life’s level as soon as possible, and then develop even further beyond it. Even though she didn’t know the subsequent developments of the Sea Survival Game, she was still confident she could live an even better life.

With a smile playing on her lips, Rowan immediately activated the radio tower and radar. Upon activation, the transmitter in the middle of the radio tower on the third floor began to rotate frequently. As for the radar, its screen continuously scanned. It had to be said, the radar was extremely useful. During the scan, the resources in the surrounding waters were directly displayed on it, densely packed.

[Resource: Wooden Board]

[Resource: copper ore]

[Resource: Drift Bottle]

[Resource: Wooden Crate]

[Resource: Pumpkin Seed]

Every single resource was clearly labeled, obviously giving players more choices. The value of this radar was truly very high. It was just a pity that she didn’t have the radar’s blueprint on hand, so she couldn’t manufacture it. If she could manufacture them, she would certainly be able to exchange them for a lot of resources. The radio tower, on the other hand, could be produced and sold.

Thinking this, Rowan immediately returned to the workspace on the first floor and directly began producing radio towers. She connected them to the Sea Survival Shop and set a price for direct sale. It was the same process as the other items she currently had for sale. Of course, while selling, Rowan didn’t forget to purchase the corresponding resources in the Trading Hall. There were more resources available today, and more players were listing items.

Rowan once again realized the benefits of having a large population in the sector. That was: there were also more resources. For a single resource, if one player provided one, there would be over ninety thousand of them. Did she worry about resources? Not at all.

Just like that, Rowan listed another new product. And almost the instant she listed it, many players noticed.

”A radio tower? What’s it used for?”

”It turns out it’s for locating islands that have radio towers.”

”Like Glimmerstone Isle?”

”Yes, there are radios in the abandoned airplanes. As long as there’s a radio tower on your raft, you can find the islands with abandoned airplanes.”

”Then this Equipment is pretty good!”

”Dismantling one abandoned airplane yields one.”

”Then how come there are suddenly so many?”

”A player got the blueprint and mass-produced them!”

”There are blueprints on the abandoned airplanes?”

”Definitely! But the people who got them are absolutely a tiny minority in our sector.”

”Then quite a few players must have gotten them, right?”

”Yeah, quite a few, probably a few thousand in total! But there shouldn’t be many who can mass-produce them.”

”Rowan Rhodes.”

”It’s highly likely her. A resource tycoon with a Level 8 Raft, she should have unlocked electricity a long time ago and can automate production, which is why she can make so many.”

”Holy crap, most people are still hand-crafting everything, yet she’s already entered the automation stage?”

”Well, this product isn’t something we need to buy right now anyway. If we buy it later, the price will be a bit cheaper.”

”That’s true.”

”But there really are more and more products in the Sea Survival Shop now.”

”Yeah! I’m only worried that my pockets aren’t deep enough.”

”Also, when will someone in our sector finally be able to contact the Sea Survival Shop? That way, our sector’s goods could also be listed on the Sea Survival Shop and sell for more money.”

”...”

Similar discussions were happening across different sectors. Their understanding of the Sea Survival Shop platform was growing deeper and deeper. They knew very well that this platform was a lifeline for their sectors. Anyone with a bit of education understood how the economic cycle worked.

Meanwhile, after listing the radio towers, Rowan began inputting the coordinates of the various sunken ships into her own radio tower. She would check and choose whichever was closest.

Just as Rowan was advancing toward her goal, the other players were not having a peaceful time at all.
