While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Zone Players Are ”Red-Eyed” With Envy

The abandoned aircraft was clearly a helicopter, divided into a cockpit and a cargo hold. Rowan Rhodes explored the cockpit first. The moment the cockpit opened, the most eye-catching thing was a pilot’s helmet. Rowan placed it into her backpack, and as soon as she did, she saw the notification above it.

[Head Damage Reduction -5%. Provides warmth and cold resistance.]

Rowan shifted her gaze to the rest of the cockpit, and various scattered pieces of Equipment began to enter her field of vision: first aid kits, safety hammers, compasses, fire extinguishers, wine bottles, bread... Looking at the wine bottle, Rowan’s mouth twitched involuntarily. She wondered if the pilot had been drinking before the crash. Letting her thoughts wander for a brief moment, she continued her exploration.

Flashlights, tape, circuit boards, batteries, Metal Plates, pipes, ropes... Rowan didn’t miss a single resource. Regardless of whether they were useful or not, she would collect them first. Moreover, she directly listed all these resources in the Sea Survival Shop, setting the prices exorbitantly high as usual.

As a result, many players who closely followed the Sea Survival Shop’s listings noticed this immediately. After all, none of the players had ever seen the resources Rowan had just listed.

”Holy crap, wasn’t she just mining?! How did she suddenly get so many resources?”

”These resources are one of a kind. Why do they look like products of civilization?”

”A sunken ship at the bottom of the sea?”

”No, a pilot’s helmet appeared earlier. It should be an aircraft.”

”Wait, is this right? There are planes on the islands?”

”That guess is reasonable. Rowan is currently on an island. Besides ores, there’s an abandoned aircraft.”

”So, is the plot of the survival game about to be unlocked?”

”This game actually has a plot!”

”It’s totally normal for it to have a plot! Otherwise, it would be so monotonous if we just kept salvaging resources and building rafts all the time!”

”Sigh, I don’t know how things will develop next.”

”We’ll just have to take it one step at a time.”

”I’m really curious about the third island now. It’s different from the first two resource islands. A new Chapter is about to begin.”

”...”

Many players kept a close eye on the Sea Survival Shop’s updates just like this. They wanted to deduce from Rowan’s haul what they should be collecting once they reached the third island themselves. After all, following in the footsteps of a big shot was a surefire way to succeed.

Rowan had no idea that players were currently ”monitoring” her every move. After thoroughly searching the inside and outside of the cockpit, she finally found a small compartment beneath the pilot’s seat. Inside were mostly various kinds of papers.

[Blueprint: Helicopter]

[Blueprint: Radio Tower]

[Blueprint: Engine]

[Blueprint: Steering Wheel]

[Map: Glimmerstone Isle Waters]

[Map: Sunken Shipwreck]

[Positioning Card * 2]

It was actually this simple. No wonder the players who had gained rewards previously didn’t leak any information at all. This was a clean sweep; essentially, only one player could obtain it. As long as this player in each zone kept it strictly under wraps, no one else would know. This was a reward meant exclusively for the top player.

Rowan put these blueprints straight into her backpack. She currently lacked the ability to build something like a helicopter from a blueprint. As for the Maps, she would take them out and study them carefully one by one when she had free time. However, it was clear from this that their development trajectory was truly heading towards... high-tech!

Subsequently, after confirming that there were no more resources to scavenge in the cockpit, Rowan turned her attention to the cargo hold in the back. Compared to the cockpit, the resources here were noticeably more abundant.

Supply Crate: Canned food, biscuits, instant noodles, bottled water, energy bars.

Medical Kit: Bandages, Pain Relief Medicine, antibiotics.

Toolbox: Wires, crowbars, tires, wireless headphones.

Weapons and Ammunition Crate: Flare gun, firearm, a small amount of bullets, bomb, Dagger.

After confirming their contents, Rowan directly sent the entire crates to the Sea Survival Shop. At this point, the entire abandoned aircraft had been thoroughly searched. Stepping out of the cabin, Rowan’s eyes flickered as she looked at the wreckage. Last time, she had reaped a massive harvest from dismantling the sunken shipwreck. This time, she would dismantle this abandoned aircraft!

[Dismantling complete: Gained fragments * 20, bolts * 20, Hinges * 20, plastic * 20, iron nails * 50.]

[Dismantling complete: Gained glass * 10.]

[Dismantling complete: Gained batteries * 20, circuit boards * 10.]

[Dismantling complete: Gained Metal Scrap * 100.]

[Dismantling complete: Gained Engine * 1, radar * 1.]

[Dismantling complete: Gained Steering Wheel * 1.]

[...]

The resources Rowan gained this time were similar to what she had acquired from dismantling the sunken shipwreck. Following her old rule, she targeted the aircraft frame last.

[Abandoned aircraft dismantling complete: Gained Metal Ingots * 800, fragments * 500, bolts * 150, Hinges * 150, iron nails * 1000...]

[Gained Black Box * 1]

After the entire aircraft was dismantled, a new notification suddenly popped up at the very end.

A black box?

Rowan placed it into her backpack and checked its Introduction info.

[Black Box: The aircraft’s electronic flight data recorder. It logs flight and performance parameters. With specialized equipment, it can be used to analyze the cause of the crash or uncover parts of the plot.]

After reading it, Rowan let out a long breath. It seemed that, for now, she wouldn’t be able to collect the plot fragments related to the abandoned aircraft in this Sea Survival Game. Putting the black box away, she surveyed the situation at the mountaintop. With the aircraft gone, only some green vegetation remained.

Rowan took out her Iron Axe and began chopping it down. As she chopped, she didn’t forget to utilize her C-level Collection Skill. At the same time, players in every zone were once again shocked by her new wave of resources.

”Batteries, Engines, and Steering Wheels have all appeared.”

”I was wondering where these things were! It turns out they’re on the third island.”

”Oh my god! Aren’t there too many of these resources?”

”Boohoo, I’m so jealous.”

”Now I finally know why Rowan was able to upgrade so quickly. She must have encountered a sunken shipwreck before this abandoned aircraft.”

”I remember now! When she upgraded to a Level 7 Raft, it happened to be a Safe Day. The ocean was completely normal that day.”

”The more I think about this guess, the truer it seems.”

”It looks like we really need to start paying close attention to the seabed.”

”We missed out on a fortune!”

”Is this the difference between a big-shot player and ordinary players?”

”I’m dying of envy. That’s so many resources!”

”If they were given to me, I can’t even imagine how happy I’d be!”

”Once again begging the heavens, please don’t let her be in the same zone as me.”

”I can feel the joy of being in first place.”

”If I can’t be first on the server, I want to be first in my zone! Let’s go!”

”...”

The players in the zones saw Rowan’s massive haul of resources, and their eyes grew green with envy. Every single one of them wished they could trade places with her. Of course, knowing that was impossible, they only had one thought left in their minds:

Charge!

As for Rowan, after clearing out all the green vegetation on the mountaintop, she began bombing the Stones with burning bottles. Once the bombing was done, only a rocky mountain remained. She set up her solar-powered electric drill and iron pickaxe to mine it, then finally returned to her raft.

It was time for her to properly study the Maps.
