While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Cold Resistance Gift Pack

Rowan Rhodes immediately checked the status of the Sea Survival Shop. Upon looking, she was slightly stunned. After one night, her shop’s Level had increased, and the data had been updated.

In just one night, the resident players had actually completed their trade quotas one after another. She could only say that there were still far too many overachievers.

The upgrade brought quite a few benefits. The number of resident players she could invite had increased by a hundred. She planned to be picky and try her best to select players from different districts. This way, she could also gain a full understanding of other districts.

With this in mind, Rowan Rhodes began contacting the resident players who supplied her.

The next moment, a group of resident players sent their messages.

[District 122 Skye Schuyler: I’m here, I’m here.]

[District 122 Skye Schuyler: Trading Mashed Potatoes*48, Baked Sweet Potato*20.]

[District 122 Skye Schuyler: Both the Mashed Potatoes and Baked Sweet Potato have a warming and hunger-resistance Effect that lasts for 6 hours. The potato experiment succeeded on the second try, and the sweet potato worked on the first try.]

[District 122 Skye Schuyler: If you still have goods, you must give them to me.]

[District 122 Skye Schuyler: Could we not trade entirely in Trading Coin? It would be best if you have cold-resistance Equipment? And then maybe give me some potato and sweet potato seeds?]

[District 122 Skye Schuyler: It’s fine if you don’t have them; whatever is convenient for you.]

**

[District 122 Owen Caldwell: Trading Charcoal Stove*100. High-temperature resistant, burns wood or charcoal. The description says it’s extremely durable Equipment.]

[District 122 Owen Caldwell: I need various cold-resistance Equipment, weapons, wood, and scrap iron.]

[District 122 Owen Caldwell: Sorry for the trouble, and thank you.]

**

[District 122 Faye Sinclair: Trading Insect Skin Warm-up Suit*212. The warming Effect lasts for 8 hours.]

[District 122 Faye Sinclair: Trading Hot Water Bag*208. The warming Effect lasts for 8 hours.]

[District 122 Faye Sinclair: Can you give me some other cold-resistance Equipment? I am too afraid of the cold.]

**

[District 122 Zelda Parrish: Flaming Fire Bow and Arrow*200, temperature control equipment*100.]

[District 122 Zelda Parrish: I want other cold-resistance Equipment aside from weapons, thank you.]

**

[District 1938 Jaina Harmon: Basic Blood Regeneration Ointment*188. It can restore 20 units of Life Value.]

[District 1938 Jaina Harmon: SOB SOB SOB, I finally crafted medical supplies! They were made using Seaweed, eggs, and clay. I don’t even know why this combination worked; it was a sudden burst of inspiration after using a Skill, and I made it with a cooking pot. I will keep doing my best. If you have any eggs, boss, please give me some. I can make more.]

Reading through the messages one by one, Rowan Rhodes was somewhat surprised. Players truly were a magical group of people! They brought so many surprises. It was incredibly worth the investment.

Rowan quickly began confirming the trades. While confirming, everything was settled using Trading Coin. However, she soon initiated a unified trade.

[Sea Survival Shop: Trading Flaming Fire Bow and Arrow*1, temperature control equipment*1, potato*1, sweet potato*1, Charcoal Stove*1, Insect Skin Warm-up Suit*1, Hot Water Bag*1, Basic Blood Regeneration Ointment*1, Mashed Potatoes*1, Baked Sweet Potato*1...]

Rowan sorted out all the cold-resistance Equipment and food, then initiated another trade. After all, the goods submitted by these resident players were indeed quite useful. For such reliable partners, she felt she needed to give something back in return. And her cold-resistance gift package indeed gave the resident players a massive surprise.

In truth, when Skye Schuyler and the others saw that they had received Trading Coin, they were indeed slightly disappointed. But they didn’t force the issue. They hadn’t traded everything they had to the Sea Survival Shop; they planned to trade the rest in their district’s trading hall. The raw materials the Sea Survival Shop provided had already allowed them to secure quite a bit of profit.

Just as they were about to initiate trades within their own channel, they saw the cold-resistance gift package sent by the Sea Survival Shop. Upon clearly seeing the items inside, they didn’t care how many zeros were tacked onto the Trading Coin price. As long as they could afford it, there was only one word on their minds: Buy!!!

After all, even if there were some items they didn’t need, they could absolutely sell them for a high price in their local trading hall. After completing the purchases, one by one, they couldn’t help but express their gratitude.

[District 122 Skye Schuyler: AHHH! This is great! Thank you!]

[District 122 Owen Caldwell: Thank you so much.]

[District 122 Faye Sinclair: Excellent, I can continue making Equipment.]

[District 122 Zelda Parrish: Thank you.]

[District 1938 Jaina Harmon: I will follow you forever.]

[...]

Looking at the wide variety of thank-you messages, Rowan checked the quantities of each item in the background and began listing them.

[Listed Items: Flaming Fire Bow and Arrow*800, temperature control equipment*300, potato*50, sweet potato*20, Charcoal Stove*52, Insect Skin Warm-up Suit*164, Hot Water Bag*160, Basic Blood Regeneration Ointment*140, Metal Ingots*100, Metal Wall*5, battery*1, oxygen bottle*1, plastic, fragments, bread...]

The items in the first half were resources and Equipment that were relatively rare at this current stage. Naturally, their prices were also quite expensive in comparison.

After sorting everything out and confirming the quantities, Rowan clicked to confirm the listing.

In an instant, the typically scarce Sea Survival Shop suddenly burst with a pile of goods, ranking at the very top of all listed items. Some players who constantly kept a close eye on the Sea Survival Shop and the trading hall saw the items and began tapping with trembling fingers, terrified they wouldn’t manage to snatch anything.

Some players saw what they needed, but because they didn’t have enough Trading Coin on hand, they could only watch helplessly as the items sold out, sighing in deep frustration. Many of the players who successfully secured items were beyond thrilled. All in all, the eyes of practically every player on the entire server were directly focused on the Sea Survival Shop.

They never expected the Sea Survival Shop to be this incredible. On the very first day of the extreme cold natural disaster, it delivered such a bountiful gift package to them. The previously silent District 122 world channel was now completely exploding with activity.

”AWOOO, the Sea Survival Shop is too awesome!”

”Listing so many cold-resistance items.”

”I snagged some! I knew hoarding Trading Coin would be useful.”

”Speaking of which, this is my first time seeing a lot of these things.”

”Who isn’t in the same boat!”

”An Engine and battery are already out!!! Could it be that we can develop electricity later on?”

”Not ’could it be,’ we definitely can! Someone has surely already started living a life with electricity!”

”OMG! The gap between people is way too big!”

”@Zelda Parrish, boss, are you already using electricity??”

”Zelda Parrish: No.”

”Even a Level 6 boss hasn’t. The Level 7 boss, Rowan Rhodes, has definitely achieved it.”

”I feel like some of the items in there look very familiar! I saw them in the trading hall.”

”@Owen Caldwell @Faye Sinclair @Skye Schuyler, what is going on???”

”Skye Schuyler: The Sea Survival Shop provided me with potatoes and sweet potatoes and asked me to craft items with special Effects. I took the job, earned a tiny bit, and put them in the trading hall.”

”Owen Caldwell: Right, just earning a little bit by relying on craftsmanship.”

”Faye Sinclair: I’ll do my best to make more, and I’ll trade the rest with the players in our district.”

”Isn’t the Sea Survival Shop just acting as a middleman platform?”

”This is great!”

”Harold Thompson: @Celia Lynch, it looks like a boss like you is going to be suppressed by someone else very soon.”

”Celia Lynch: My mind isn’t as narrow as yours. The more players with these special Skills there are, the better the ecological environment of our district will be. Let’s do our best everyone, and together, let’s claim the top spot for survival rate during this extreme cold disaster. When the time comes, we can get at least another 10 wooden chests. Also, for those who know their own Skills but don’t know how to utilize them, you can take a look at the special goods listed above. For example, Healing Ointment likely involves medical-related Skills. For potatoes and sweet potatoes, those with Farming or Collection Skills can pay closer attention to seeds...”

”@Harold Thompson, Celia Lynch is still a boss in our hearts. If you can’t learn from the broad-mindedness of others, then don’t sit there acting bitter.”

”@Harold Thompson, during the last natural disaster, you lived comfortably relying on Coconuts. Let’s see what you do during this extreme cold disaster.”

”Harold Thompson: Hehe, I’ve disappointed you. I bought cold-resistance Equipment. I bought it from both the trading hall and the Sea Survival Shop.”

”@Harold Thompson: Then since you’re enjoying the benefits provided by players in the same district, be a little friendlier. Don’t go around instigating trouble all day. Those who stand out too much will be targeted.”

”Harold Thompson: What do you mean??? Are you targeting me? You bastard, fuck your whole family.”

”Stop polluting the world channel, okay? We still want to see some survival experience!”

”@Faye Sinclair: Did you make that Hot Water Bag? How do you make it?”

”Faye Sinclair: I modeled it after real-life hot water bags and sewed it using Rough Insect Skin. You just pour boiling water into it. If you have a lot of scrap iron on hand, you can make a small iron kettle.”

”Then wouldn’t filling a glass bottle with water work too?”

”...”

After listing the items online, Rowan subconsciously paid attention to the world channel. Watching the flame war unfold in the middle of it all, she immediately fell silent.

Harold Thompson really did come out to make a fool of himself on a regular basis!

Fortunately, the vast majority of players had clear, discerning eyes. Compared to arguing, learning more ways to survive the natural disaster was the most important thing.

What Rowan didn’t know was that, apart from District 122, other districts were also engaging in heated discussions.
