While Everyone Panicked, I Upgraded My Raft

Chapter 56: Chapter 56: The Situation in Other Regions

District 1938.

Jaina Harmon was buzzing with excitement after purchasing the anti-cold gift pack from the Sea Survival Shop.

The previous extreme heat disaster had been a nightmare for her. She had almost died.

The appearance of the Sea Survival Shop was what saved her.

And now, facing the extreme cold disaster, she once again had the Equipment and food to cope.

As soon as she received it, Jaina took out the Charcoal Stove and placed it inside her Wooden House.

After putting Wooden Boards inside, the Charcoal Stove began to burn, radiating waves of comforting warmth.

Her raft was exactly Level 3.

But for Jaina, she was already very satisfied.

She had just upgraded to this Level! She had used the Healing Ointment she crafted to trade for Wooden Boards and iron nails.

After all, her raft had almost been entirely eaten by sharks before.

It was through that ordeal that she realized just how important the surface area of a raft was.

Therefore, after successfully crafting the ointment, she directly put the amount allocated to her up on the trading hall in exchange for Wooden Boards and iron nails.

Only after upgrading did she feel a bit more secure.

However, she knew it wasn’t enough.

Now that she had so much anti-cold Equipment, she planned to sell some more to get Wooden Boards and iron nails to upgrade to Level 4.

From her observations, the world channel had mentioned that after advancing to Level 4, one would unlock the Workbench, Storage Box, and spike.

Especially the Workbench, which could produce a lot of Equipment.

Not to mention other things, she couldn’t even produce a cooking pot herself; she had to trade for it in the trading hall!

If she had a Workbench, she could make a few more cooking pots and then craft more Healing Ointment.

Then there was the Storage Box.

Although she didn’t have many resources, she had a wide variety of them! Her inventory space was simply not enough. With a Storage Box, she would be able to sort and organize everything.

Jaina selected the Hot Water Bag, Baked Sweet Potato, and Basic Blood Regeneration Ointment.

She put them straight onto the trading hall.

And not long after she listed them, they were immediately bought out.

After all, what she wanted were Wooden Boards and iron nails, which weren’t exactly rare commodities.

Once she got her hands on them, Jaina happily began to upgrade her raft.

After the upgrade, she started unlocking new Equipment.

Upon unlocking the wooden fence, Workbench, Storage Box, and spike, Jaina immediately set them up on her raft.

She also quickly used the Storage Box to organize her current resources.

After tidying up, Jaina felt that her Wooden House had become much more spacious.

Then, humming a little tune, Jaina stood before the cooking platform and continued to craft Basic Blood Regeneration Ointment.

This medicine sold well, so it was in her Nature to make more of it; this was the foundation of her future survival and livelihood.

Seaweed and clay were actually quite easy to get; it was just that eggs were a bit harder to find.

She had only managed to feel around and find some eggs while digging in the sand after landing on Thesora.

Originally, she planned to sell most of them. But who could have imagined that when she was about to boil the eggs, she would subconsciously use her Medical Skill, which unexpectedly sparked the inspiration for Healing Ointment.

Even though the composition was weird, it at least allowed her to craft medicine.

Later on, the Sea Survival Shop even started supplying her with the raw materials.

She was going to work hard from now on!

This was her long-term path to survival.

While crafting the Healing Ointment, Jaina took the opportunity to check the messages on the world channel.

[District 1938: (58,372/100,000)]

”Healing Ointment? Hasn’t this medicine appeared in our district before? It showed up even earlier than the Sea Survival Shop.”

”Could it be that a player in our district is affiliated with the Sea Survival Game?”

”That’s for sure.”

”Who is it?”

”Which player? Step forward and let’s chat! How did you get involved with the Sea Survival Shop?”

”Don’t hide it! You’re just hoarding the benefits for yourself.”

”Who? Who exactly is it?”

”She traded Healing Ointment for Wooden Boards and iron nails. Her Level definitely isn’t high.”

”Fuck! What on earth is going on?”

”There is absolutely some inside story here.”

”We’re all players here. Come out and tell us, it’s not like we’re going to do anything to you.”

”...”

Looking at the players who kept egging her on to reveal herself, Jaina pursed her lips and said nothing.

She would have to be an idiot to step forward.

Once she did, she would be put on a pedestal and targeted.

Her secret identity had to be kept strictly under wraps.

On the previous island, a large number of players had died.

Human hearts were truly sinister!

And this game of life and death only infinitely magnified the evil lurking at the bottom of human hearts.

At this moment, Jaina was truly glad that she had encountered the Sea Survival Shop.

It was her salvation.

She would continue to study and research diligently.

District 5323.

When Ian Sinclair received the request for goods from the Sea Survival Shop, he had already realized something.

The Sea Survival Shop was definitely about to list new items on its shelves.

His request for a Steering Wheel, Engine, and battery yesterday had been rejected. However, he felt that the rejection didn’t mean the other party didn’t have them. Rather, these resources were simply too precious to be casually sold to players in private.

Only by releasing them to the broader Sea Survival Game would it match the true value of such precious resources.

Sure enough, a moment later, the Sea Survival Shop’s items went live.

He immediately noticed the battery and bought it without hesitation.

Browsing through the rest of the items and confirming there was no Engine or Steering Wheel, a flash of disappointment crossed Ian’s eyes.

If they weren’t listed, it meant the Sea Survival Shop genuinely didn’t have them.

His gaze unconsciously swept over the current number one ranked player, Rowan Rhodes.

Then how did she get hers?

While pondering this, Ian shifted his attention to the anti-cold gift pack sold by the Sea Survival Shop.

The potatoes and sweet potatoes inside it were considered treasures to him.

That was right! His Skill was none other than Farming.

He had never expected this to be his Skill.

However, this Skill was still incredibly useful in the Sea Survival Game.

Especially after he planted palm trees, Coconut trees, Mango trees, and Watermelons.

As long as he used his Skill, the yield would double every time they matured.

Moving decisively, Ian prepared a small clay pot and started Farming indoors.

At the same time, Ian observed the activity on the world channel.

[District 5323: (38,475/100,000)]

Looking at the player count that had dropped by another few hundred, Ian’s eyes darkened.

He didn’t know what was happening in other districts, but he knew that the game had only just begun, yet more than half the people in his district had already died.

And all of this was related to a particular gang within his district.

They formed groups right out in the open on the world channel.

When they discovered the first island and realized that players could gather there, they hatched the idea of robbing others.

Countless players had died at the hands of this group.

Many of those who didn’t die were forced to hand over at least half of their resources.

This allowed such a team to rapidly expand and grow stronger.

Oh no, it wasn’t just one team anymore; it was several teams.

Seeing the first team reap the benefits, other teams had been established one after another.

”There really are a lot of good things in this Sea Survival Shop!”

”I didn’t expect the goods in this shop to sell out so quickly.”

”Hahaha, I bought everything. I can easily survive this extreme cold weather now.”

”Our leader is awesome!”

”Follow me, and you’ll all live good lives.”

”It’s just that the harvest from Thesora this time was too small.”

”I think when we reach the next island, we can kill more players. We need to quickly drop the population below 10,000 so we can switch to another district and rob them.”

”Haha, good idea.”

”...”

The entire world channel was overflowing with malice.

Many players trembled in secret, and in the end, they could only grit their teeth and join this marauding team.

Because if they didn’t rob others, they would only be robbed themselves.

The reason this group of thugs spoke so brazenly was because they knew that even if the other players were aware, it was useless.

Because players were forced to go ashore on the islands.

Many players had discovered this during their time on the first island.

If they didn’t go ashore, their rafts would never be able to cross that boundary line.

Looking at the chaos on the world channel, a trace of disgust flashed through Ian’s eyes.

He didn’t know if every district was like this, or if it was just his own.

If they were all like this, then perhaps the number of players killed by mutual slaughter would be far greater than those who died to the natural hazards of the Sea Survival Game.
