The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1298: Chapter 483: Palace Scheming or Rebellion? (Part 20)_3

Especially someone like Tao Yong, the Great General. He opened his own mansion, and besides the regular household soldiers, he has also raised five thousand subordinates.

So many people, all their living expenses require money.

The biggest source of income for the Tao Family comes from a salt field in Bohai.

Now, all of a sudden, Tao Yong’s good son-in-law points a knife at the salt administration... this isn’t just about cutting at the flesh of the noble families, but it’s going after the lifeblood of the Tao Family!

Let alone providing support, Tao Yong didn’t jump up and curse, which was already giving face to the Emperor, his son-in-law.

So, after court, when Tao Yong was summoned to Ganlu Palace by Emperor Yongcheng, and ”persuaded” to help, he flatly refused.

Emperor Yongcheng: ... Damn it, isn’t he just way too disrespectful?

He’s supposed to be my father-in-law.

Moreover, the two families have an alliance.

If the Tao Family won’t support Emperor Yongcheng, how could he have married such a stubborn, unruly woman as Empress?!

Now, the Tao family’s daughter is flaunting in the harem, Emperor Yongcheng needs the Tao family’s support, yet Tao Yong, this old scoundrel, behaves like this!

How hateful Emperor Yongcheng feels.

A self-centered person like him won’t reflect on himself: If everyone opposes, could it be that his directive really has issues?

He only thinks: These people, all look down on me, all want to cause trouble and block me!

Tao Yong: ...

Seeing such a ”grudge-bearer” little Emperor, he suddenly felt a bit regretful.

With such a capricious King, unwilling to listen to advice, can the Tao Family really achieve the wealth and prestige they anticipate?!

The father-in-law and son-in-law, each with their own thoughts, departed unhappily.

Emperor Yongcheng, as if being a trapped beast, kept pacing back and forth in the big hall.

Is his first directive about to die in the cradle?

No way!

Absolutely not!

He can’t let Empress Dowager He and the Imperial court laugh at him.

He mustn’t give up halfway, he wants to be a more wise and valiant Emperor than Father Emperor.

Like a donkey walking in circles, Emperor Yongcheng spun around several times until suddenly recalling a phrase from Lady Hu, and a light bulb went off in his head!

”... Wet nurse was right, you can’t put all eggs in one basket.”

”I shouldn’t rely solely on Feng Shou and Tao Yong. I should find more helpers, and also take the chance to bring back Nianer!”

Emperor Yongcheng surely is an obsessed romantic, even in such times, he doesn’t forget to plan a little for his little best friend.

Or rather, he already had such thoughts, but today’s affairs thoroughly provoked him!

”Selection? Widely recruit for the harem?”

He Tiantian guessed Emperor Yongcheng would have some unexpected actions, yet she hadn’t thought this little Emperor would be so capricious!

Uh, calling it capricious is light, this damn thing is downright foolish, courting death.

He married Lady Tao just under three months ago, should still be in the honeymoon period.

Even if it’s a political marriage, even if he doesn’t like Empress Tao, the Emperor can’t slap faces like this.

He’s not just slapping Empress Tao’s face alone but tearing off the Tao family’s whole skin, trampling it on the ground repeatedly!

Alliance, alliance, was initially meant to use the Tao Family as leverage.

Emperor Yongcheng, however, directly offends the Tao Family to the death.

Is he planning to utterly fall out with the Tao Family?

Helping He Tiantian organize memorials, Wang Shijiu, hearing this news, couldn’t help but shake his head silently.

Emperor Yongcheng is truly foolish!

Wang Shijiu felt secretly relieved: It’s fortunate I didn’t marry him, otherwise, now the one being slapped might have been her, Wang Shijiu.

If she lost face herself, that’s one thing, but it would implicate the family!

This is Wang Shijiu’s deepest bottom line.

Thanks to Empress Dowager He, it was she who promptly reminded her grandfather, Wang Shijiu and the whole Wang Family weren’t dragged into the mire by the little Emperor.

Thinking this in her heart, Wang Shijiu glanced gratefully at ”Empress Dowager He”.

He Tiantian naturally didn’t miss Wang Shijiu’s gaze, she could also guess this smart woman’s thoughts.

Yes, Wang Shijiu was not wrong, Emperor Yongcheng is a foolish brat.

Yet this person still thinks himself clever.

He widely recruits for the harem, to a normal person, it’s absolutely courting death.

But to Emperor Yongcheng, he feels he’s made a great move.

He Tiantian can fully guess Emperor Yongcheng’s thoughts, nothing more than thinking Tao Yong is not supportive enough, so he finds more ”Yue Families.”

Not only gaining more support, but also creating a sense of crisis for Tao Yong—See, if you won’t help me, I’ll really find others to assist.

He’s looking for competitors for the Tao Family, making Tao Yong feel the pressure, then desperately pursuing merit.

Ha, who does Emperor Yongcheng think he is? Is he some coveted prize everyone fights over?

Or thinks, sitting the throne, holding the Imperial Jade Seal, he’s an iron-clad Emperor, unshakeable by anyone?!
