The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1288: Chapter 480: Palace Schemes Pale in Comparison to Rebellion (Part 17)_2

Originally, her plan was to strike Zheng Nianer with a whip, hoping to disfigure her directly.

In this way, even if Emperor Yongcheng became angry, as long as some time passed, she would eventually gain his forgiveness.

And Zheng Nianer, having become an ugly woman, the Emperor, no matter how nostalgic, could not continue to favor her.

Tao Youwei was determined, even if it meant quarreling with her husband, to eradicate future troubles.

But now—

She had already swung the whip and publicly hit someone. Without anyone intentionally reporting it, the Emperor would soon know.

The Emperor would certainly be angry, but Tao Youwei’s objective was not achieved!

Biting her lower lip hard, Tao Youwei decided to go all out, regardless of the consequences.

She continued to wave the soft whip, specifically aiming at Zheng Nianer’s head.

Zheng Nianer clumsily covered her head with her hands, desperately trying to dodge.

In the process of dodging, she stumbled and fell directly to the ground.

She struggled and rolled in pain on the ground, while Tao Youwei stood there nobly, like a dignified lady disciplining the most lowly concubine in her house, continuing to lash the whip.

Although the surrounding women were shocked by Tao Youwei’s arrogance and cruelty, none of them stepped forward to stop her.

Nor did anyone help Zheng Nianer!

They... probably many of them were secretly cheering in their hearts.

Indeed, these noble women originally looked down upon Lady Hu and the whole Zheng Family.

Yet for the sake of the Emperor, they had to pretend to be polite to this mother and daughter, which made them feel suffocated inside.

Now, finally seeing Zheng Nianer being whipped, if they didn’t clap and cheer on the spot, it already meant they knew restraint.

Zheng Nianer, having lived two lives, was in such a sorry and miserable state for the first time!

Especially in her previous life, she might not have been a wealthy second-generation or a powerful second-generation.

But she was fortunate to live in an era of law and peace.

Even as an ordinary citizen, she would not be publicly humiliated by the powerful!

But now, she, she was clearly also the daughter of the Lord’s Mansion, how did it end up with her being whipped?!

With so many people around, so many pairs of eyes, not a single one showed sympathy, nor did anyone feel that tyranny was shameful; they all chose to ignore it.

In their hearts, they might even be taking pleasure in her misfortune!

Zheng Nianer had been in the Dayuan Dynasty for some time, and for the first time, she keenly felt the hierarchical strictness of the feudal dynasty and personally experienced the benefits of ”privilege”!

In the past, it was her mistake, or rather she was too naive; she didn’t want to be a man’s appendage.

She actually thought she could rely on knowledge beyond this time and space to become an outstanding woman in this era!

How ridiculous?!

This is a feudal dynasty where privilege reigns supreme.

Even if she created something new, before she could use it to exchange for the wealth and honor she desired, it would be taken away by those with power and influence.

Being able to preserve her life would be considered lucky; if things didn’t go well, she might even lose herself completely!

I must have power, I must become a person above others.

I, I never want to be whipped in public like an animal again!

The pain from the soft whip landing on her body was nothing compared to the pain in her heart.

Zheng Nianer clenched her teeth, forbidding herself from making any sound.

Even if it hurt her to death, she would not let those women see her make a joke of it!

However, Tao Youwei’s lashing did not last long.

The commotion here had indeed alarmed the Matriarch of the host family and all the elders.

They came rushing over, and Lady Hu was among them.

”Nianer! My Nianer!”

Lady Hu rushed forward and saw Tao Youwei punishing her daughter like a slave, making her roll all over the ground, her eyes turned red.

Indeed, she was a slave, but a slave of the Royal Family after all.

For more than ten years, Lady Hu had lived a life of being flattered and revered, and she had long forgotten that before being chosen by Lady He as the Prince’s wet nurse, she also once knelt humbly at the feet of the nobles.

As for whipping, it was not something she hadn’t experienced.

Being punished to kneel, going hungry, these were common occurrences.

Living a life of luxury and ease for more than ten years, Lady Hu forgot the past and truly regarded herself as a rich person.

And the scene before her eyes completely awakened Lady Hu’s memory.

Many years ago, when she was just a young girl of around ten years old, she had also been punished like this by her master and the housekeeper lady!

But, Lady Hu was, after all, the Emperor’s wet nurse, her character had long since become strong.

The daze was only for a moment, she quickly regained her senses.

She just happened to unintentionally bump into Tao Youwei, throwing herself onto Zheng Nianer’s body.

”Nianer, my Nianer, what, what has happened to you?”
