The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 742: Chapter 298 Doubt_2

”You’re calling yourself fat with a standard weight, so does that make Su Lei, George?”

Su Lei, hmm, he was one of those guys who ranked girls behind their backs.

He Tiantian just snickered at this.

Her own weight was a hundred and eighty, with a face full of acne, and she still had the nerve to be critical of girls?!

”Pfft!”

Hearing the words ”George,” Ma Siqi couldn’t help but laugh out loud, instantly picturing a big, fat, floppy-eared black pig in her mind.

”And there’s Zheng Duo, he’s thin alright, but he’s like a stick, is that attractive?”

He Tiantian brought up another boring boy who liked to be bossy with girls.

”...No, not good-looking!” Ma Siqi said with a laugh, shaking her head.

Even Zhou Zixuen couldn’t help but join in, ”Yeah, those guys are some fat, some skinny, and with utterly ordinary looks, yet they have the audacity to criticize girls!”

”Besides, even if someone is a bit heavy, so what? Are they eating their rice or digging up their ancestral graves? Is it necessary for them to be so petty and relentless?!”

Truly, ”Brother Xuan” knew how to cut to the heart of the matter.

He Tiantian laughed along.

After some kidding around, He Tiantian straightened up and said, ”Siqi, I run because I want a healthy body; I do it for myself, not to please others.”

”As long as we’re healthy, being a bit fat, a bit thin, or a little darker, a little lighter—it’s all fine, and there’s no need to care about what others think.”

Ma Siqi wasn’t truly insecure, she was just a bit sensitive about weight issues.

Having heard the advice of He Tiantian and Zhou Zixuen, her concerns began to fade.

Right, why should I live by what others say?!

As long as I’m healthy and not affecting or hurting anyone else, my appearance is nobody else’s business.

Especially those manipulative guys in the class, if she really got gaslighted by them, that would be foolish.

”That’s right! I am me, who cares about what others think?”

Ma Siqi declared boldly, grabbing a bun and chomping down on it voraciously.

He Tiantian and Zhou Zixuen saw this and couldn’t help but laugh again.

”Speaking of discipline, I actually think Chen Nan’s dedication to studying really qualifies as disciplined!”

He Tiantian just happened to glance at Chen Nan’s bed and suddenly made this remark.

”Yes! Chen Nan studies so hard, she leaves before dawn every day and at night, after lights out, she hides on the stairs reading!”

Mentioning the dormitory’s study role model, Chen Nan, Ma Siqi and Zhou Zixuen both nodded without hesitation.

”As for the competitive pressure over our bodies, looks, and whatnot, they can be put aside for now; we could actually learn a thing or two about ’discipline’ from Chen Nan.”

He Tiantian said jokingly.

”That’s right! We’re students, it’s not about looks, talents, or body shapes, studying is what truly matters!”

”Right! Guys, let’s get this rat race started!”

After shouting such a silly slogan, the three of them burst out laughing and fooling around again.

But the topic of ”discipline” came to a close, and they hurriedly finished breakfast and jogged to the classroom for early self-study.

And so, He Tiantian returned to her regular and busy study schedule.

Running, attending classes, going to the library to do research during free time, she kept repeating the same routine, and time flew by exceptionally fast.

Before she knew it, the weekend arrived.

Early Saturday morning, after her run and breakfast in the dining hall, He Tiantian slung her backpack over her shoulder, ready to head to the long-distance bus station to catch a coach to the Provincial City.

”He Tiantian!”

He Tiantian had just stepped out of the school gate, approaching a bus stop on the street, when she noticed an unremarkable car stopped in front of her.

The driver’s side window rolled down, revealing a somewhat familiar face.

It was none other than Major Yuan Hao.

”Major Yuan Hao, hello!”

He Tiantian approached and greeted him politely.

”There’s no need to be so formal, just call me by my name!”

Yuan Hao’s stern face broke into a smile, and he extended a hand from the window as an invitation, ”Get in, I’ll take you to the Provincial City!”

”Thank you!” He Tiantian didn’t decline, briskly opening the door and making a beeline for the back seat.

The front passenger seat always seemed reserved for someone close.

Although she trusted the Soldier, it still didn’t feel right to be too ”forward.”

He Tiantian stowed her backpack, settled into her seat, and buckled her seatbelt.

Yuan Hao saw her actions in the rearview mirror, and once she was settled, he started the car and headed onto the highway.

Blending into the flow of traffic, Yuan Hao drove while chatting with He Tiantian—
