The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 714: Chapter 289 This Time It’s Swindler Again (5)

”It shouldn’t be so! There’s nothing wrong with the Elixir Recipe! I refined the elixir myself, the entire process, without delegating it to anyone!”

Jiao Da had yet another outpouring in the outhouse.

He felt as if he was about to excrete half his life away; finally, after a struggle to pull up his trousers, he made his way outside, only to hear the Grand Master of his family rambling on and on.

Once he understood He Tiantian’s words, Jiao Da almost stumbled and fell to the ground.

What?

This batch of elixir was personally refined by the Grand Master?

No wonder! No wonder he almost excreted himself to death after taking the elixir!

Jiao Da’s vision went black, his body swayed violently, and inside, he felt a sense of despair that was beyond tears.

Whimpering, Grand Master, even if you wished to engage in alchemy, you should at least find a real Taoist.

In these times, the word ”professional” didn’t exist, but letting a Taoist refine elixirs was surely better than allowing the Grand Master to fumble around like an amateur.

Jiao Da suddenly felt like his life was truly in danger at Xuanzhen Temple.

”Grand Master, this, this servant’s life belongs to the Jia family. For you, I’d test the elixir; even if I died, it’d be no loss!”

Jiao Da held back until he couldn’t anymore, running to He Tiantian, fell to his knees with a thud, grabbed her robe and wailed.

”...This servant is just worried about the little ones back home, I have no other thoughts, I only hope that if one day this servant truly dies, please, Grand Master, for the sake of this servant’s undying loyalty, take just a little care of my descendants!”

Jiao Da wept with snot and tears, the words he spoke were extremely tragic.

Actually, his heart wasn’t nearly as agitated.

He had already reconciled himself with his fate: he was old and didn’t have many good years left.

If he could exchange his old life for wealth and honor for the Jiao family’s descendants, it would be all too worth it!

”You senile servant, what nonsense are you spouting?”

He Tiantian feigned an expression of infuriated embarrassment, ”I refined an Immortal Pill to strengthen the body’s foundation, not arsenic. What the devil are you scared of?”

Jiao Da: ...If you’re not afraid, why don’t you eat it yourself?

Pouting his lips, he looked dolorously at He Tiantian.

He Tiantian acted as though she were guilt-ridden, then waved her hands disorderly, ”Alright, alright, rest assured. I know you’re loyal; I’ll have Brother Zhen look after your progeny!”

Finally, Jiao Da got a promise from the Grand Master, and his heart settled down at last.

He had no regrets or attachments, and the sense of fear diminished greatly.

In the following days, Jiao Da indulged in eating and drinking, and surprisingly, his complexion improved significantly.

Some chronic ailments and old injuries disappeared without a trace.

Jiao Da himself noticed these changes in his body; he even felt as if he had become younger by a decade.

Feeling all this, he dared not conceal it and hurried to find He Tiantian to report.

He Tiantian pretended to be moved, ”I knew it! I knew the Elixir Recipe was without fault!”

However, to err on the side of caution, He Tiantian still ordered someone to call for a doctor.

The doctor carefully took Jiao Da’s pulse, examined his body, then gave a diagnosis with a hint of envy, ”Nearly sixty years of age, yet possessing such a robust constitution, old man, you’re quite fortunate.”

Jiao Da’s eyes widened as he looked at the doctor, then turned his head to look at He Tiantian.

He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but considering the presence of the doctor, an outsider, he held back.

As a loyal servant who understood the rules, Jiao Da naturally knew the wisdom of ”keeping one’s mouth shut.”

After the doctor left, and no outsiders remained in the chamber, Jiao Da cautiously asked, ”Grand Master, could it be your elixir actually works?”

”Haha, I knew it, I knew it would be like this!”

He Tiantian acted as if she were extremely excited, not even addressing Jiao Da’s question.

She was even eager to pop one herself.

Jiao Da was a loyal servant, though, and dared not let his Grand Master take such a risk.

Even though he, a mere lowly servant with tough skin and a hardy constitution, faced no issues after consuming the elixir.

But the Grand Master was different, a true Noble.

Always pampered and cared for, he had never suffered the slightest hardship, even during his time at the Taoist Temple.

Not to mention the actual efficacy of the elixir itself, but those initial life-threatening bouts of diarrhea—

Just the thought of diarrhea made Jiao Da’s stomach rumble uncontrollably, and his anus couldn’t help clenching tightly.

”Grand Master, why don’t we find someone else to test it further? Please don’t rush to take it yourself!”

Jiao Da, afraid of any misfortune befalling his master, hastily urged with a worried tone.

”Find whom? Those little runts of your family?” He Tiantian finally deigned to acknowledge Jiao Da.
