The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 729: Chapter 294: The Swindler Again (Part 10)

One day!

An entire day!

Jia Cong nearly suffocated to death from his own farting.

He felt ashamed and angry, always feeling that the gazes from everyone around him were off.

Even Jiao Youxin, who had just been assigned to serve by his side, always wore an indescribable expression.

It seemed as if Jiao Youxin was saying, ”Brother Cong looks fair and clever, why does he love to fart so much!”

Jia Cong: ...You’re the one who loves to fart! Your whole family loves to fart!

If it weren’t for that darn Nourishing Yuan Pill, I would never have turned into a farting basket!

However, after the embarrassment, Jia Cong had to admit that although the side effects of the Nourishing Yuan Pill were dumbfounding, it truly had miraculous effects on physical conditioning.

In an era without antibiotics, just with one elixir, within just a few days, the high fever had subsided, and the whip wounds on his body had quickly scabbed over and fallen off.

And Jia Cong, who initially could only lie immobile in bed, could already run around less than ten days after arriving at Xuanzhen Temple.

Jia Zhen, who came personally to report on the progress of purchasing land for Jia Jing, was somewhat astonished.

He had witnessed the pitiful state of Jia Cong that day.

Honestly, whether it was Jia Zhen or Jia She, they agreed so readily to adopt Jia Cong to Jia Jing.

Apart from He Tiantian’s oppressive influence, there was also the belief that Jia Cong’s life would not last long.

He was just a critically ill child, whom even the abundant medical resources of the Capital City may not save, let alone in a remote suburb.

Since he was not expected to survive, and would not pose any threat, why not undertake the adoption? In doing so, they could also satisfy the living ancestor, Jia Jing, so why not?

Yet, just a few days after their last meeting, the assumedly soon-to-be-dead Jia Cong was suddenly lively and running around the mountains, and his own father was showing much indulgence to this adoptive cheap son, leaving Jia Zhen with indescribable feelings.

”...Brother Cong is young and still needs to study, I originally wanted to personally teach him, but I need to focus on alchemy daily and genuinely can’t make time.”

”In that case, go to the academy and find a teacher, who can teach Brother Cong daily!”

Afterward, hearing his father make plans for Jia Cong like this only increased Jia Zhen’s discomfort.

But, as the words of his father, Jia Zhen as a son dared not defy and had to reluctantly agree, ”Yes, I will find a Grand Master from the academy immediately upon returning!”

Because he saw his biological father pay excessive attention to an adoptive cheap son, Jia Zhen felt very discontented.

Carrying an inexplicable mixture of envy and resentment, he went to the clan school just in time to see a group of students causing mischief.

And Jia Dairu, who had lost his only grandson Jia Rui, seemed to have lost all vitality and was even less willing to discipline.

If it was before, seeing the chaotic and noisy clan school, Jia Zhen would not have bothered at all.

But, having just been confronted in the suburban, and his father had specifically inquired about the clan school, Jia Zhen suddenly remembered how he was disciplined by his own father because of his studies as a child...

Under many factors, Jia Zhen erupted, furiously vented his anger, and kicked out all the misbehaving students, like Xue Pan, and other cheap relatives like Ai, Lian, etc.

Jia Zhen specifically went to find Jia Zheng, had discussions, and had Jia Dairu return home to ”recuperate.”

Then, he picked a seemingly composed person from among Jia Zheng’s guests to temporarily manage the clan school.

Subsequently, he rectified the clan school and reestablished the rules.

Although Jia Zhen and the new teachers were not entirely reliable, they were already much better than before.

The clan school gradually began to resemble what a school should look like.

Finally, after selection, Jia Zhen specifically chose a teacher for Jia Cong.

Three days later, Jia Zhen hurriedly went to Xuanzhen Temple, accompanied by that teacher.

He Tiantian specifically tested the teacher, and although he didn’t have much scholarship, he was indeed sufficient for enlightening young children.

Well, that’s about the best Jia Zhen could do; one couldn’t expect him to manage anything more reliable!

Anyway, the ”new teacher” was already on his way, it would just be a matter of a month or two, so just let this teacher temporarily instruct for now.

Moreover, He Tiantian deliberately mentioned the clan school in front of Jia Zhen, not just to find a teacher for Jia Cong but also to remind Jia Zhen to pay attention to rectifying the clan school.

Well... although the outcome was not extremely satisfying, with Jia Zhen’s outburst, both teachers and students of the clan school restrained themselves much more.
