The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 705: Chapter 286 This Time It’s Swindler Again (2)

He Tiantian opened her mouth and couldn’t help but ask, ”Can’t we change the course of history?”

In the Dian Niang Book Library, eight out of ten time-travel novels revolve around changing the historical process.

If there’s no change, what’s the point of time-traveling?

Is it just to experience the bitter life in ancient times without smartphones and WIFI?!

Just like those high-quality web novels on history channels, if there’s no change and it just follows the historical framework, wouldn’t readers curse the writers to death?

”You can make changes, but not too significant ones!”

Student Xiao D patiently explained, ”For example, in the upcoming novel world, which originally has a mythological tone, the protagonist can try to change the status quo bit by bit.”

”Exploring new trade routes, improving textile technology, or making glass, making gunpowder, all of that is fine!”

”But the author of this novel got carried away, and his male lead brought the entire Small World straight into the electrical age.”

”Even though it’s fiction, the original work had historical context, and the male lead’s myriad miraculous deeds leaped over more than a hundred years of history.”

”... It’s just that the author probably realized that the plot was becoming difficult to write and abandoned the story right there!”

Student Xiao D spoke up to this point, then seemed a bit helpless.

Setting aside the fact that the author gave the Protagonist too much of a Golden Finger, the first half of the novel was still tremendously exciting.

Many readers felt it was a shame and sent razor blades to Dian Niang Book Library, ardently requesting that the negligent author finish the story.

The author wanted to fill the gaps too, but since the novel’s framework was relatively complete, it had already formed an independent Small World.

Once there is world consciousness, the author can no longer alter it wildly.

One could only find a balance within the constraints of the original work, the original storyline, and so on.

So, that’s when writers had to step in.

Having heard Xiao D’s explanation, He Tiantian slightly furrowed her brow.

Again with the original work, the original storyline!

”...Is this fan fiction?”

With a rising inflection at the end, He Tiantian asked with a certain tone.

”Yes! And it’s fanfiction based on the classic masterpiece of Hua Country, ’Dream of the Red Chamber’!”

Student Xiao D didn’t keep her in suspense and said it directly.

Fanfiction of Dream of the Red Chamber, no wonder!

Earlier, He Tiantian was pondering why altering the original work’s historical course could lead to the collapse of a Small World.

Because Dream of the Red Chamber is a monumental work, it has already formed a complete novel world on its own.

Oh no, if you include the numerous fanfictions based on Dream of the Red Chamber, it might even constitute a Red Building universe.

Fanfiction should be a second creation built on the original work’s framework, not donning the mythological cloak of a novel like Dream of the Red Chamber but writing a story about an industrialized powerhouse.

It’s not that you cannot write about a powerful country, but that you shouldn’t overextend your steps.

Moreover, the term ”fanfiction” must be considered.

Since it’s under the guise of Dream of the Red Chamber, the original background settings should be taken into account.

Even if the writing quality of the story is high and readers like it, the grand consciousness of the Red Building universe won’t accept excessive alterations.

This world’s collapse might have stemmed from a violent clash between the consciousness of the fanfiction world and the Red Building universe.

After receiving the script, He Tiantian read through it carefully and noticed another issue.

The original novel’s male lead was just a Concubine Son of the Jia family, and if the author set him on a path of studying for the civil examination or earning military merits, that would fit within the framework of Dream of the Red Chamber quite naturally.

But to write him as an inventor, a scientist, who, as a mere noble’s illegitimate son, could spark an industrial revolution...

Well, okay, such a story of reversal would be thrilling, but it hardly seems logical.

Do they really think the nobles of feudal society were just for show?

Do they really believe that the Royal Family would be so ”enlightened” as to let a child from a noble family run rampant?

Additionally, industrialization isn’t something that can be achieved by a single person; it requires the push of the entire social stratum.

It involves many aspects, like mining, smelting, and so on.

In a feudal dynasty, essential resources like salt and iron were monopolized by the court, not to be touched by private entities.

Haha, even hoarding a few pieces of armor could be deemed as conspiring against the state, let alone the male lead’s mass steel production in the novel.

After reading the script, He Tiantian wasn’t particularly keen on taking the task.

She had a hunch that if she repaired the plot in her way, she might not satisfy the readers of this novel.

The task she had just finished had taught her a lesson.

She felt she had done quite well in completing the mission, but because the book’s fans weren’t very satisfied, she only received Basic Points and missed out on any bonuses.
