The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 396: Chapter 177: The Female Lead’s Aunt (Part 15)_2

Zhao Yongkang painted a picturesque description of the B&B life, seemingly intent on convincing Su Muxue to extend her stay for a few more days.

”Little Uncle, this B&B is really out of the way!”

Su Muxue listened to Zhao Yongkang’s endless chatter while curiously scrutinizing her surroundings.

She noticed that the ”B&B” mentioned by her little uncle didn’t seem like a place open for business, and instead, it resembled a private mountain villa.

After all, for business purposes, one would definitely choose a location with good access and convenient transportation.

And this place—

Su Muxue, having interned at He Group for two days, was a rookie in the business field but still had learned a thing or two about commerce.

But regardless of what she learned or common sense, Su Muxue felt that this place was absolutely unsuitable for a B&B.

There was only one house on the entire mountain. Standing in front of it and looking around, the nearest neighbor was on another mountaintop.

It was as hopeless as trying to chase a mountain with a run-down horse.

What seemed a short distance in a straight line would take at least a day or two to reach by foot.

The surrounding forests were lush, and nearby farmers, to attract business, had let loose small animals like rabbits and chickens.

With more animals, the ecosystem improved, and some wild creatures that had retreated into the mountains in earlier years began to reappear.

Just the other day, someone encountered a wild boar on Nanshan and there were also canine animals, unclear if they were wolves or dogs, lingering in the fields.

Su Muxue held her breath, concentrating intently, feeling somewhat uneasy standing in front of this estate.

...This place really didn’t resemble a proper B&B; instead, it seemed more like a cell designed to confine or keep someone under house arrest.

Confinement—Little Uncle—Assistant Zhou—A boss with a hole in his brain!

A chain of information perfectly formed in Su Muxue’s mind. She didn’t want to think too poorly of one of her few remaining relatives.

But she trusted her intuition more.

Su Muxue quietly gathered her inner strength. Yes, after a month of training, she had actually developed the legendary inner strength.

She had also mastered both sets of martial arts secrets that Sister Sitian had given her.

Orchid Brushing Acupoint Hand, Luoying Divine Sword Palm—she couldn’t claim to have reached a high realm, but she was certainly capable of dealing with a few skilled men with no problem.

”Oh, it doesn’t matter if it’s remote, the key is that the environment is great, and the B&B is fully equipped with amenities and supplies. You won’t get bored even if you stay in the room all day!” Zhao Yongkang hurriedly explained.

Later, perhaps afraid that Su Muxue would truly dislike the place for being too remote and just leave, Zhao Yongkang grabbed his niece by the arm and directly led her into the villa.

Behind them, the big iron gate of the yard closed, and the two heavy security doors of the house also shut.

Zhao Yongkang pulled Su Muxue into the living room and pushed her down onto the sofa before he finally let out a long sigh.

”Ah, I left my easel outside!”

Zhao Yongkang seemed to suddenly remember this, a look of annoyance on his face, while he didn’t forget to tell Su Muxue, ”Muxue, you just sit here. I’ll be right back!”

”Oh, right, if you get bored, you can walk around. Your room is on the second floor, you can go check it out and see if it’s to your liking!”

While saying this, Zhao Yongkang quickly headed for the door.

Zhao Yongkang’s figure soon disappeared at the doorway, and the door was closed again with force.

As if to add to the ambiance, just as the door closed, the previously sunrise-filled sky suddenly gathered dark clouds.

Crack!

A bolt of lightning flashed through the dense clouds.

The sound, sudden and jarring in the silent mountains, seemed to strike directly at one’s heart.

Su Muxue was startled.

What, what kind of plot is this?

Is it the beginning of a tragedy?

Haunted? Or is there a criminal on the loose?

Su Muxue’s heart raced, and it was in this tense atmosphere that sudden footsteps, tap tap, tap tap, echoed in the large living room.

Su Muxue looked up, carefully identified the source, and found that the sound came from the staircase.

Following the sound, she first saw a pair of black, high-end leather shoes, then neatly pressed suit pants.

And then—

Is this Leng Mo sick or what?

It’s not like clocking in for work, nor attending a formal negotiation or gathering. Is there really a need to wear a crisp suit at a so-called B&B, a private holiday spot?

That’s not how one should show off.

Thinking he’s an overbearing boss? A refined scoundrel?

Su Muxue genuinely disliked Leng Mo, to the point where she even disapproved of his dress style!

”Why are you here?”

Su Muxue stood up from the sofa, asking discontentedly.

”That’s a question you should ask your little uncle.”

Leng Mo, full of swagger, adjusted his diamond cufflinks, his tone still carrying that confident and arrogant air of someone in control of everything.
