The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 374: Chapter 170: Tormented Female Lead’s Aunt (Part 8)

He Tiantian seemed very satisfied with Zhao Yongkang’s attitude.

The more considerate and understanding Zhao Yongkang was, and the more he sided with her, the happier He Tiantian became.

Just like a woman in passionate love, her husband’s complete trust and care made her glow.

When He Tiantian was happy, she treated Zhao Yongkang and his family more generously, and even took some initiative to show care.

”Right, right, after Muxue’s college entrance exams are over and she gets into university successfully, let’s take her on a round-the-world graduation trip!”

He Tiantian spoke with such boldness, and her tone showed more affection and concern towards her niece-by-marriage, Su Muxue.

”Great!” Zhao Yongkang smiled elegantly; he truly embodied that gentleness and cultivation to his core.

The couple’s relationship grew closer, and He Tiantian managed to spare some time during their blissful couple’s world trip to either call the nursing home for her mother-in-law or video call Muxue, who was at the boarding school.

”Hey? Muxue, are you practicing Taekwondo?”

One day, after a music party on the cruise, He Tiantian and Zhao Yongkang returned to their room and somehow started talking about how Su Muxue had once learned to play the violin for two years.

He Tiantian immediately took out her phone and video-called Su Muxue.

Su Muxue had just finished her chores and grabbed her phone to have a good chat with her uncle and aunt.

The phone shook, the camera angle shifted, and thus, unintentionally, He Tiantian on the other end saw a set of Taekwondo training clothes hanging on the balcony through the video.

It seemed that He Tiantian suddenly remembered that last time they talked, Su Muxue had mentioned, ”I signed up for a class to exercise.”

At that moment, Su Muxue hadn’t specified what she was learning, but putting two and two together, ”He Sitian,” the Eldest Miss, though not very concerned about her distant relatives, couldn’t have completely overlooked it.

So, He Tiantian casually asked the question.

Su Muxue smiled a bit shyly and said, ”Yeah, I just signed up!”

”Oh my, why would you want to practice something like Taekwondo to get fit? Those are all just for show. Ordinary students just practice it to look good; it’s really not practical at all!”

He Tiantian pursed her lips, displaying some layman’s arrogance.

Su Muxue noticed but didn’t mind, nor did she explain to He Tiantian that ”there are two types of Taekwondo, one is for performance, and the other is for sparring.”

The former indeed is just for show, with kicks and punches intended to look impressive.

But the latter, the combat sport version, truly requires protective gear and involves aggressive action.

And it was this latter type that Su Muxue was currently learning, though she had no proof, she just felt an inexplicable sense of crisis and urgency.

However, these things, she didn’t want to tell her aunt, not because she felt her aunt was just a relative and she didn’t want to share her feelings.

Su Muxue was more worried that her aunt might fret, mistakenly thinking she was learning martial arts for self-defense because she had encountered some trouble!

After moving to the boarding school, Su Muxue had several phone calls with He Tiantian.

It was strange; when she was living at her aunt’s house, no matter how careful she was, she and her aunt couldn’t avoid seeing each other.

Living under the same roof, whether they liked it or not, they had to encounter each other.

Every time they faced each other or their eyes met, the awkwardness was palpable, not to mention for an aunt who was a spoiled and capricious Eldest Miss, even Su Muxue felt uncomfortable.

Luckily, there was her young uncle to mediate, which kept the home atmosphere bearable.

But, Su Muxue and He Sitian always maintained a clear boundary and a definite sense of distance.

However, after Su Muxue moved out, when they communicated again via phone, that boundary and sense of distance didn’t feel as strong.

The face on the phone screen was still that of an affluent and prestigious lady, but Su Muxue still sensed a hint of care and goodwill.

Could it really be that ”distance makes the heart grow fonder”?

Or had she misunderstood her aunt in the past?

Was her aunt a warm-hearted but inexpressive person?

A jumble of thoughts crossed Su Muxue’s mind, but the ultimate outcome was one: after moving to the boarding school, her relationship with her aunt had improved.

When facing her aunt, Su Muxue could speak some heartfelt words or seek her opinion.

”Aunt, I’m just practicing it for fun!”

Whether it’s just for show or practicality, in reality, for a woman whose physical strength is innately weaker than a man’s, the significance isn’t much.
