The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 369: Chapter 168: Tormented Female Lead’s Aunt (Part 6)_2

But, she really couldn’t manage to be a loving elder, showing various kinds of affection and care towards Su Muxue.

She was polite yet distant, even somewhat cold.

Of course, the reason He Sitian had such an attitude wasn’t solely because of her personality.

What was more important was that she was less than ten years older than Su Muxue, and the prospect of living under one roof with a sixteen or seventeen-year-old was daunting, to say the least, let alone having to act as a loving, amiable elder.

Tsk tsk, He Sitian thought, I’m still a little princess myself, really not cut out for taking care of someone else’s child.

He Sitian’s attitude towards Su Muxue was neither warm nor distant, a greeting upon seeing each other, a procedural inquiry about how life was going, if there was a need for money, and then, there was no more.

Just now, after finishing her homework in her room on the second floor, Su Muxue had heard noises downstairs and came down, waiting in the living room.

Seeing He Tiantian entering the house, Su Muxue greeted her with a smile and then expressed her thoughts, ”Aunt, I’m in my second year of high school now, and the workload is getting heavier. I have night self-study every day, and I want to apply for boarding school! Is that okay?”

Boarding school?

Su Muxue attended a public high school, and it was the best one in the province.

Because it was the best, it attracted students from other regions as well as the suburbs of the city.

To accommodate these students who faced inconveniences traveling to and from school, the school had a dormitory building where students could apply to stay.

The dormitory building was new, with very decent conditions, said to have been donated and built in recent years by some outstanding alumni and social elites.

The accommodation fee and other related expenses were not expensive, and the school also specifically provided life instructors and dormitory managers.

However, Su Muxue had already been studying at this high school for one year, this being her second year.

Last year, after Grandma Su underwent heart surgery, Zhao Wenkang and He Sitian discussed and decided to send the old lady to a high-end private nursing home.

Su Muxue, on the other hand, was taken home by Zhao Wenkang.

Even under these circumstances, Su Muxue did not apply for boarding school.

After more than a year, He Sitian was not particularly affectionate towards Su Muxue but had never mistreated her.

She was wealthy and generous, providing Su Muxue with the best in terms of food, clothing, and other essentials.

After the start of the second year of high school, when Su Muxue began attending night self-study, He Sitian arranged for the family driver to pick her up directly from school.

Su Muxue felt a bit embarrassed but also accepted her aunt’s kindness.

...Everything had been going quite well. Yet all of a sudden, Su Muxue proposed to stay in the boarding school.

Moreover, today, her gaze towards ”He Sitian” was not as close and grateful as usual but filled with more complex emotions.

He Tiantian had also noticed this complexity, which was why she felt some speculation and unease.

Something was not right, the female lead had become very off.

If it weren’t for the certainty that this novel did not include rebirth or time-traveling themes, He Tiantian would suspect that this female lead had some sort of ”adventure”.

Knowing the script well, she was aware that the top-grade aunt ”He Sitian” would betray her, but she lacked evidence at the moment.

If she couldn’t confront her, then she could only hide in the school for the time being.

Fortunately, her school provided boarding conditions, and by using ”studying” as an excuse, Su Muxue could not only persuade her doting junior uncle but also shut the top-grade aunt up!

But there’s a problem: this book does not have any rebirth or time-traveling plotlines, so the female lead should be the original character.

While talking to Su Muxue, He Tiantian was carefully observing her every minor action.

Combining these observations with her knowledge about Su Muxue from memory, He Tiantian could be sure that Su Muxue was indeed Su Muxue; the possibility of her being reborn was very slim.

Because people who have experienced rebirth, even if they remain themselves, have clear differences from their past selves.

With the vicissitudes of the world and maturity they’ve experienced, growth and worldliness that permeate from their bones might not be perceived by the person themselves, yet those familiar with them could feel it.

And the Su Muxue in front of her was still simple and naive.

At most, there was a hint of something else in her pure eyes.

At the moment, He Tiantian could not be sure what exactly Su Muxue had gone through.

But He Tiantian was certain that Su Muxue must have sensed danger, and she had grown wary of ”He Sitian”, the aunt.

How interesting, ha!

No wonder this mission’s difficulty level was three stars.

It seemed to be just a simple torturous script, but unexpectedly, it hid other plots.

”I asked Uncle, and he agreed!”

Unaware that He Tiantian was analyzing her internally, Su Muxue pursed her lips and chuckled lightly, like a pure and graceful lily.
