Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System

Han Ruochen sucked in a breath. She wanted to pick something up and hit Han Ziyan on the head. No matter how stupid she was, there was a time and place where she could act up. Why was she pretending to be wronged in the hospital ward? Was she afraid that no one would know that she, as the adopted daughter, was being tormented by their family?

She closed her eyes and calmed herself down before saying to Han Ziyan, ”There is no need. The soup is almost finished, and there are no leftovers. Ziyan, you are a grown-up, and you also have a good job at the warehouse. Just buy something at the canteen to eat, alright? We are all busy with the matters at hand, looking for a way to earn money. You should be a little more understanding.”

Since Han Ziyan wanted to act pitiful, then Han Ruochen would remind her that her current job was because of the Han family.

If not for the fact that she was too embarrassed to ask Han Ziyan whether or not she was ashamed to ask for fish soup that was meant for patients as a healthy woman, she would have hurled the empty lunchbox at Han Ziyan’s head. This woman was getting more and more outrageous with each day.

Han Ruochen did not say anything too harsh, but Han Yichen was already embarrassed. The pride that his eldest daughter had earned for him was seemingly destroyed and discarded thoroughly by the words of his adopted daughter.

The ward mate was also embarrassed. The fish soup in his hands now felt like a hot potato. He kept having a feeling that he might have deprived another family’s child of food.

”Uncle, don’t think too much.” Han Ruochen noticed that the man was having a hard time and tried to ease the atmosphere. ”Ziyan has been spoiled by us; she speaks without thinking. Don’t worry, she has a good job and earns twenty-eight yuan a month. She can easily take care of her meals even if we don’t cook anything for her. Don’t take her words to heart.”

Han Ruochen easily broke the awkward atmosphere. First she pushed the blame onto Han Ziyan’s personality, and then she simply revealed the fact that Han Ziyan earned a good salary of twenty-eight yuan. A meat bun only cost eighteen cents to one yuan.

When Han Ziyan heard Han Ruochen’s words, her face turned red in anger, and she glared at the woman. This woman was just her nemesis. Han Ruochen was actually telling everyone that she, as a grown-up woman, did not have a good temper and was unwilling to spend her money on food and was taking advantage of her adoptive family. Han Ruochen was really cruel.

”Dad, I have something to do today.” Han Ruochen stood up from the stool. She packed away the lunchbox and then said to her father, ”I have something to do today. So I need to leave early. I have already asked Sister Xuehan to come and keep vigil once I leave.”

”Sure, there is no need to worry about me. I am feeling better than before; you just take care of yourself.” Han Yichen smiled and agreed with Han Ruochen; he knew how hard his daughter was working for him, so he did not question her about where she was going, because he knew that his daughter must have some kind of job.

”Dad, I will also take my leave. I need to head over to the warehouse; there are some things that only I can manage there after all.” Han Ziyan also stood up quickly.

Though there was still time, Han Ziyan did not want to stay at the hospital anymore. Not only was she hungry, but she was also bored out of her mind. At least her father could talk with the ward mate, but what was she supposed to do? The two of them had many points that they wanted to discuss with one another, but Han Ziyan did not have any interest in their conversation. She had been sitting idle for the past few hours and felt like mould would soon grow on her back.

What was more, she had been listening to the praises that her adopted father had for his biological children. He praised everyone, including Han Jianyou, who did not even come to look for him and said that the boy was smart and talented. But there was no mention of her; it made her feel like she was fairly lousy in comparison to Han Ruochen and the rest, and she did not like it.

And Han Ruochen just arrived. She had been resting at home and did nothing all day long. She did not even cook dinner last night and brought food from outside; it was she who had worked hard while Han Ruochen only knew how to have fun, and yet her father was full of praise for Han Ruochen and the others, but he did not even mention her. Why? Because Han Ruochen and Han Yong cooked a few meals for him?

Since that was the case, then her father might rely on these children and stop asking her to take care of him.

Han Ziyan simply cared about her own interests; she did not even consider a simple thing that Han Yichen was in a dangerous accident, and he might end up in the operating theatre at any time. What was more, even if he was feeling better, there was a good chance that his wound could bleed at any moment. As Han Ziyan had the time, she should have stayed behind until Han Xuehan arrived, such that there would be a next of kin in case something happened to Han Yichen.

But the woman did not care about such things; the only thing that she was worried about was her own interests. She did not even care about the fact that she sounded unfilial and abrupt because of her hurried and impatient tone.
