Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System

When Meng Yunhan arrived at home, she hurriedly went to the kitchen and lifted the lid of the pot. She had been busy since the morning, and because she wanted to save some money for her beloved, she did not dare to waste even a penny at the canteen. So she had been surviving on nothing but warm water. She planned to go back home and eat something. But no food could be found in the kitchen. There was not even a grain of rice left in the pot.

Frowning hard, she turned to look over her shoulder and called out to Han Ruochen. ”Ruochen, didn’t you make sweet porridge with nuts and gojiberries? Where is the porridge? Come and serve me some.”

Her husband only had a few bowls of porridge; surely there should be some leftovers.

”Dad ate it all. Where will I get porridge to serve you?” Han Ruochen walked out of the bathing room and wiped her hands on a towel. She coldly glanced at her mother, whose face was turning blue and red. Clearly, she had money in her pockets, but she was refusing to bring it out because she wanted to give it all to Yun Xinye. Don’t think she had no idea what was going on with her mother these days.

”Impossible! How could this happen? You must have cooked the entire pot, and your dad only had two bowls. Even if your sister were hungry, given her appetite, she could not finish the entire pot alone. Where did you keep the porridge?” Meng Yunhan sent Han Ziyan back home because she wanted her to eat her fill. Though she did not like Han Ruochen, she had to admit that the wretched girl’s cooking was really good.

Meng Yunhan was also craving the porridge since Han Yichen kept praising it.

However, now there was not even a single grain of rice in the pot. What was she going to eat?

”An entire pot of porridge?” Han Ruochen had a mocking smile on her lips. ”Mom, what is the situation of the family- do you not know, or are you pretending to not know? Where will I get so many nuts and goji berries from? Do you not know how much they cost? It was already good enough that I bought enough to cook for Dad, and you are still expecting that I will be able to get enough to cook a pot? Just as I said, I only had enough money to cook for Dad.”

”Are you serious? There is nothing left?” Meng Yunhan’s eyes widened. ”Then what did Ziyan eat when she came back for dinner?”

”How would I know? Since my sister is already a grown-up with two hands, she should be able to cook for herself. If you want to know what she ate, you can wait for her to return and ask her what she cooked, or you can go back to the hospital and ask her.”

”You!” Meng Yunhan was so angry that she started to tremble. She looked at her three children, who were so insensible that they did not seem to care about her or their sister, and rolled her eyes several times. She picked up a cup of water and drank several gulps of water from it before she could bring herself to speak again. ”You three are really good. No matter what, no matter how upset you are, I am still your mother. How can you be so angry with me? How dare you throw a tantrum at me? I was the one who gave birth to the three of you and wiped your piss and poo! Now that you all have grown up, you are even denying me a meal. What is the meaning of this?”

Meng Yunhan just refused to cook. Though she did not treat her children as well as Han Yichen did, she still wanted them to be filial to her. So why was it that Han Ruochen was willing to cook for Han Yichen, but she was not willing to cook for her?

She wanted them to prepare food for her.

Han Ruochen narrowed her eyes when she heard the exclamations of her mother. However, before she could say anything, Han Yong stepped forward. ”Hungry?” He pulled out the lunchbox that he was carrying with him and placed it on the table. ”Go ahead and help yourself.”

Meng Yunhan opened the lunch box that Han Yong placed in front of her, and when she saw the cold steamed buns, she could not help but furrow her brows in anger. ”What is this?” She was starving to death, and her son was giving her cold buns to eat?

She raised her head and questioned angrily, ”I work hard for the entire day, and this is what you serve me?”

Han Yong shrugged casually. With his hands in his pockets, he remarked, ”Mom, if you want me to cook something for you, then you at least need to fill in the groceries. Even the most skilled chef cannot make anything without rice, right? Look at the kitchen. Even the mice have packed up their bags and left our home.” He pointed at the shelves that were so clean that they could see their faces in them.

Meng Yunhan pursed her lips and swallowed the tirade that she wanted to throw at her children. ”Then go and buy something.”

”Okay. Just give me the money.”

Han Yong did not refuse but instead stretched his hands out and asked his mother to give him the money.

Money?

Meng Yunhan’s face turned red when she saw that her son was asking her for money. She couldn’t help but say, ”You are such a grown-up man. Why are you asking for money from your mother? Just go and buy something for me to eat.”

”Mom, are you trying to embarrass me deliberately? You have married such a good wife for me; she keeps all my money with her. I don’t even have a penny in my pocket. I can’t even feed myself and even owe foreign debts...you do you really have to rub salt on my wounds?”
