The Golem Mage

”So right now, we still don’t know the main reason why they have decided to attack us, How can there be no information?, We have practically already stabilized the realm, and yet there is no information whatsoever.”

The Tier 7 Mage, who had been sent by Great instructor Gideon to find out the reason for the war on the behalf of the faction, was quite stumped as he had not been able to obtain anything tangible.

Every stone he tried turning had turned out to be a dead end.

He had even had some of the Tier 6 mages that entered with him try to gather information, but it had not yielded any profitable results.

”And I have to actually report to Great Instructor Gideon, or he would have my head,” the Tier 7 Mage muttered to himself as he looked at the kneeling Tier 6 mages before him.

”I have an opinion, sir. Why don’t we go ask the hermit master that stopped the attack?, After all, his shop is still here, and with the faction backing you, he should not hold back any information,” suggested one of the Tier 6 mages.

”He definitely can’t say he didn’t realize what happened since he was practically at the center of it when it happened, So if there is anyone who can answer your questions, it should be him,” another Tier 6 chimed in from the side.

”But he is not obligated to tell me anything, and he is also a strong Mage at the Tier 8 realm,” the Tier 7 Mage said, supporting his jaw with his right hand in frustration.

”Just use the reputation of the faction to push him around a little, and he would open up, After all, he is just one Tier 8 Mage, while the great faction has so many hidden Tier 8 mages and acknowledged ones, It would be stupid for him not to help,”

The first Tier 6 to speak gave his opinion again, making the Tier 7 Mage nod in affirmation.

He had been in the Orc villages Abyss region for the past three days, and during this time, they had stabilized the city and reconstructed another barrier.

They have heard rumours of another barrier being erected, but they didn’t believe it, as they felt someone powerful must have put the whole city under a massive illusion spell, as there was no barrier in place.

And now that they had finally stabilized the city, it was time for the command of the city to return to the black-armoured guards’ jurisdiction.

The least they could do now was to send a general-level black-armoured officer ( Tier 7) , along with countless captains( Tier 6) to support him, as they needed to reassess the dangers posed by the Orc villages.

The negligence of leaving the control of the city in the hands of a few captains had shown how futile it would be if another attack were to happen.

They had to increase the security of the city if they didn’t want to lose it, They had only been lucky this time because Terran and Old man Alderic had been around to help.

--

Inside the armoury store, the air was heavy with the scent of oil and leather, as the carcass of the massive demonic beast that Alec had slain lay on the ground.

Old man Alderic stood there with his two workers, who he had released from their underground prison as they tried to move the huge demonic beasts to the back store.

As the Tier 7 Mage entered with confidence, dressed in elegant attire, his eyes were immediately drawn to the scene unfolding before him.

His curiosity piqued, as he approached old man Alderic, who appeared weathered as he had not yet created the antidote pill.

”Where did you get all these demonic beasts, old man? Where did they come from?” the Tier 7 Mage asked, his tone filled with curiosity.

With a stoic look on his face, old man Alderic looked up, seemingly unfazed by the presence of the Tier 7 Mage.

As he gestured to his workers, urging them to move the demonic beast faster.

”Just creatures that my boy, who wandered into the beast king region, killed a few days ago. It caused quite the chaos in the city, as he scored big this time,” Alderic replied nonchalantly, but a sense of pride could be detected in his voice as he talked about Alec.

”I am a member of the faction, and I demand to know more about what happened a few days ago when the Orcs attacked, I need comprehensive details of the incident, and I heard you were the right person to ask,” the Tier 7 Mage finally revealed his intentions to old man Alderic.

And old man Alderic halted his movements, turning to face the Tier 7 Mage, his eyes colder than steel.

”A member of the faction, you say?, How thoughtful of you to mention it. Do you think your affiliation grants you special privileges here?” he retorted, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

”Indeed, it does. There is no one in the War God Mage Academy who doesn’t know about the faction. And if you think you are mighty, you are just insignificant beings in the eyes of the faction, ones that can be exterminated.”

” So I advise you to answer my questions respectfully, and I may be able to put in some good words for you in the presence of the higher up,” the Tier 7 Mage replied, a smug tone in his voice.

Without uttering a single word, old man Alderic swiftly raised his hand and delivered a powerful slap across the Tier 7 Mage’s face.

The impact was so forceful that the mage was sent flying through the air, crashing into a display of shining armor nearby.

Weapons and armor clattered to the ground, and the store fell into an abrupt silence as the two assistants gasped in shock.

The Tier 7 Mage struggled to regain his composure, feeling a mixture of pain and embarrassment.

”How dare you...you old fool!” he exclaimed, his voice filled with anger.

Old man Alderic watched with a stern expression, unaffected by the chaos.

”In this store, I am the master, and Respect is earned, not demanded. Remember that, young one. Now, if you don’t want to be buried in the ground, disappear from my sight,” Alderic said calmly.

As the Tier 7 Mage glared back, seething with newfound humility and a bruised ego, he slowly stormed out of the room.

Meanwhile, old man Alderic bowed his head, intending to get back to work when he heard the sounds of the doorbell jingling, signalling the arrival of someone else.

Another man walked in, his face covered by a hood.

Old man Alderic tried to see through it, but a rune on the hood seemed to be blocking his gaze, Since he was still weak and unable to use his full powers, he couldn’t penetrate the barrier.

This realization made Alderic furious, as it was still his weak strength that allowed the Tier 7 Mage to leave with just a slap.

Because If he had been at full strength, that mage would be buried six feet under with all he did, the man who had just entered slowly removed the hood, revealing his face.

If anyone had seen him, they would have been surprised, for the man who entered was none other than the new Dean of the War God Mage Academy.

However, the reason for their surprise wouldn’t have been his presence here; it would have been the fact that he had to cover his face to come here.

As the Dean, he had the right to go anywhere within the lands of the War God Mage Academy without being questioned, yet he had come in secret.

The Dean bowed lightly and cupped his hand towards old man Alderic.
