The Golem Mage

Three days had passed since Alec and his gang returned from the Abyss, and rumour’s about their exploits spread like wildfire throughout the academy.

However, the news that circulated through out the academy was a mix of good and bad.

On the positive side, it was revealed that Alec had ventured into the Abyss once again and had returned with a substantial profit.

His haul included countless sacks overflowing with the bodies of slain demonic beasts, This accomplishment reaffirmed Alec’s status as the strongest rookie in the academy.

However, in contrast to Alec’s success, the War God Mage Academy faced an unexpected situation, The prestigious Royal Mage Academy located in the capital had sent a delegation of their new generation students for an exchange program at the War God Mage Academy.

This act was a customary practice of the Royal Mage Academy, but it had never before been extended towards the supposedly weaker War God Mage Academy.

Many reputable academies were taken aback by this decision, still unable to digest the fact that the revered Royal Mage Academy had chosen the War God Mage Academy as a place for their students to learn from, when they have all been waiting hopefully that they would be picked next.

If Alec had been aware of the situation’s details, he would have understood the reason for the Royal Mage Academy’s choice, as behind their visit lay a concealed motive – a cover-up for a much larger scheme.

Their true intention was likely that revenge, to further assert their ulterior motives, the Royal Mage Academy had already challenged all the new generation students of the War God Mage Academy.

Their provocation indicated that they were searching for exceptional talent among the aspiring mages of their rival academy.

Leaning against the background, Bolton Blaze cast a smug gaze upon the twenty-member genius team he had brought with him to the War God Mage Academy.

Ever since the failed attempt to kill Alec in the capital, Bolton had been relentlessly searching for other methods to eliminate him.

The fear and horror he initially experienced back then had faded from his memory, overridden by his burning desire for revenge.

He disregarded the warning of the renowned ”Spear Mad Man” of the Gordons clan, who had cautioned him against leaving the capital, knowing full well that he would become a hunted man if the fourth elder of the Gordons clan found out.

Throwing caution to the wind, Bolton devised a new plan to kill Alec, one that would distance himself from the act.

When he learned that he would have the opportunity to lead the students interested in the exchange program due to his Uncle passing the responsibility to him to gain experience,

He used his clan’s influence to sway the choice of academy towards the War God Mage Academy.

Because this was where Alec had enrolled, and Bolton aimed to crush Alec’s spirit by defeating him in his own academy.

He even used his wealth to entice some of the worst troublemakers, delinquents, and prodigies of the Royal Mage Academy to accompany him on this exchange, all with the sole purpose of humiliating the entire War God Mage Academy and ensuring Alec’s demise in combat.

”So, how is it ?” Bolton asked, observing the mages before him.

”Pathetic, weak, and no match for our academy, Iver Dragonmir and Asher Blaze shouldn’t have even bothered joining us, We alone could have easily defeated the entire junior generation of the War God Mage Academy, leaving them with no place to hide their faces in shame,” remarked Lucky.

Lucky is peculiar and eccentric mage of the thunder element, he was way different from Astrid, who had a low affinity for the element and had to relied on Thunder Mana rings to control lightning.

He was a mage with a high affinity for the thunder element, boasting the ability to cast thunder spells without the need for thunder rings.

Additionally, he had a strong resistance to the thunder element and was formidable in terms of strength.

They had been at the academy for an entire day scouting and challenging down, yet they hadn’t encountered anyone particularly strong.

This was mainly due to the fact that most of the stronger individuals had either moved to the Orc zone in hopes of obtaining something after what happen or were in seclusion.

The War God Mage Academy had a history of its powerful members not staying within the academy, leading the mages from the Royal Mage Academy to mistakenly believe that they would only face weak opponents at War God.

”I’m not talking about that, Let’s not forget that our mission isn’t just to tarnish the reputation of this college; we also have to kill that brat called Alec Gordons, Have any of you managed to spot him yet?” Bolton Blaze asked, his voice simmering with anger.

In truth, he didn’t care about the other students; they could all perish for all he cared.

His utmost desire was to humiliate, defeat, and ultimately kill Alec in a manner that would appear accidental.

”How far he has fallen, When he defeated me, I had believed he would go on to achieve great heights, Who would have thought he would end up in such a desolate place?, He is no longer my equal, I can’t wait to see him and exact revenge for what he did to me, reclaiming my lost pride in the process,” Iver Dragonmir said, finally breaking his silence.

Since their arrival at the academy, they had received exceptional treatment, including being provided with a lavish villa, where this conversation was taking place.

Iver Dragonmir, who had been defeated by Alec during his visit to the capital, had eagerly accepted Bolton Blaze’s invitation to seek revenge, when he heard Bolton’s plan.

After his defeat at the hands of Alec, he had lost the support of his clan and had to work harder than ever to acquire cultivation resources.

They believed that someone like him, who could lose to a bastard even the Blaze Clan never acknowledge, did not deserve their backing.

However, despite the setback, the defeat had sparked a breakthrough in his mentality, propelling him into the Tier 4 Mage Realm.

And he had defeated all those who had once mocked him, reclaiming his lost authority.

The only thing left for him to regain now was his honour, and to achieve that, he had to defeat and humiliate Alec as well.

And This is the primary reason why he had agreed to accompany Bolton and the rest of the crew to the War God Mage Academy, even though he was looked down upon for being the only third year in the group.

”I don’t care what you all say, Whether you defeat him, beat him, or even tear off his limbs, it all means nothing to me, just know his life belongs to me, as only I am allowed to kill Alec Gordon or should I say Alec Blaze ” Asher Blaze declared, his face partially covered as an eerie smile appeared on the other side of his face.

Flames erupted from his body, but these were not the usual red flames. Instead, they flickered with a bone-chilling blue colour.
