The Golem Mage

The Gordon’s clansmen have showed him that a person’s battle powers were not solely determined by their realm, a fact he reluctantly admitted after being with them for just few hours.

Even now, in the city, he only felt safe because they were still with the Gordons.

Because he knew that The Gordons’ clansmen would have their backs if anything went wrong, especially since the city was going through an attack at the moment.

That’s why him and what was left of his group continued to follow the Gordons; as they always seemed to have a plan for any situation.

As much as Pale didn’t want to admit it, he couldn’t deny the feeling that he got that him and his group wouldn’t survive for long in the Abyss without the support of the Gordons’ clansmen, they were a little Experienced now but they knew they were still amateurs.

”We would be delighted to accompany you until you leave the Abyss,” Pale said, extending his hand for Agnes to shake.

But Agnes was taken aback, She never expected Pale, who had been rash and irresponsible, to be the one trying to be the good person.

But she wasn’t ready to fall for it, as she felt it was all an act, until suddenly, a loud explosion rang out, but there was a barrier there protecting them, looking even more solid than the last time, indicating that the city was still protected.

The city barrier, which had been previously destroyed, was now back up again.

And the resident mages in the city were surprised and unsure how this had happened since they had witnessed the barrier breaking down before their eyes.

Then, a deep voice reverberated throughout the area, capturing everyone’s attention.

”He he he, Alderic, you still pretend to be taller than your height even in old age, You’re as amusing as ever,”

Another Orc appeared, accompanied by three other Tier 7 Orcs , including the Tier 7 orc who had led the previous attack, as they stood behind him, showing his positions.

”How dare you call me that!, If my mental powers could influence people of the same realm, you would have found yourself buried six feet under the ground by now!” The short man, whose name was Alderic, couldn’t help but get angry at the new Orc’s statement.

He had been called a short man multiple times in a day, and he couldn’t recall the last time he had faced such an onslaught of insults.

It had started with Terran, whom the Great Instructor in the earth realm believe would decide the winner of their bet.

Little did they know that Terran is buried in an unexpected tide of sand, Following Terran’s mistake, was his own disciple Arthur, and now the leader of the attack on the human city had also called him a short man.

”I see you still haven’t lost that fetish of yours, However, if you ever hope to make me fall for you like that, you would first have to surpass me and become a Tier 9 Mage, But are you even capable of reaching that realm?”

Grimgore teased Alderic, who stretched his hand into the air, seemingly waiting for something.

”Before your annoying weapon arrives, there’s something I’d like to understand, How does your city have another barrier?” Grimgore questioned.

Alderic simply stared at him, Though he appeared to be wearing only a fur robe that covered him completely, but Alderic had fought Grimgore enough times to know that underneath that fur robe lay formidable armor and his weapon capable of maximum destruction.

He had quickly activated the academy’s emergency barrier as soon as he sensed Grimgore’s mana fluctuation.

In fact, he had initially chosen not to engage in this conquering the city fight, as he wanted to allow the humans to suffer a little because they had been complacent during their peaceful times.

However, the moment he sensed Grimgore’s forceful mana, Alderic decided to take matters into his own hands.

That’s why he put the captain who was in command into a slumber with a swift slap.

He wanted to do more, especially after the captain had previously slapped him, but he restrained himself, since now was not the time to punish him for his errors.

Finally, his long sword reached him and rested in his palm.

It was covered by a white scabbard adorned with intricate runes, Alderic wasted no time in caressing his weapon.

”I see you don’t want to continue talking with me, but if you think I didn’t come prepared, then you’ll be surprised, This isn’t going to be just like last time,” Grimgore said.

”Say that when you’re finally able to defeat me. Last time we fought, I chased your ass for over two days, beating you until you acknowledged me as your ’papi’. I can still do that. And as for your ambition of wanting to conquer this city today, forget it. It’ll only happen over my dead body,” Alderic replied defiantly.

”I’m glad you said that already, as that means I’ll have to kill you first,” Grimgore said as he untied his robe, revealing the heavy armor underneath.

With his two short axes hung at his waist, and Unlike other orcs who liked showing some skin, Grimgore’s armor covered every part of his upper body.

”My lord!” someone flew towards him, presenting him with a helmet that matched his armor.

With one hand, Grimgore received it and put on the helm, that had two short horns.

He stared back at Alderic.

”I’ve always hated your overconfident behaviour. Always believing you can defeat anyone, Do you think you’re better than all the other Tier 8 lifeforms?” Grimgore asked with a frown on his face.

”I don’t care about any other Tier 8, Heck, I haven’t even considered myself a top Tier 8 lifeforms, I just know I’m better than you, Even if you showcase your spirit equipment armor set crafted by ancient dwarves, it still won’t stop me from beating you,” Alderic confidently stated.

”How...?” Grimgore was perplexed that Alderic had discovered the origins of his newly crafted possession.

”How? It’s simple. In my free time, I seem to have picked up an interest in crafting things, and along the way, I became a master forger,” Alderic casually replied, causing Grimgore to almost choke on air.

’ Free time my foot!, Becoming a master forger isn’t a mere plaything, If it were, there would be countless master forgers among the high-ranking lifeforms, and we wouldn’t have to beg to get our equipment forged by those snobbish forgers,” Grimgore thought to himself, clearly impressed annoyed by Alderic’s skill.

”So, are we going to do this, or are you going to take your team of orcs back and accept defeat?, You do know you can’t defeat me, right?” Alderic said, casually shrugging his shoulders.

”Well, I won’t know until I try,” Grimgore replied.

In an instant, he appeared to teleport from his previous position to directly in front of Alderic.

However he had not teleported, his movements were just too quick for the mid-tier mages and orcs to see.

Even the Tier 7 orcs nearby could only catch a glimpse of a streak of light as Grimgore moved.

With lightning speed, his right hand struck out towards Alderic’s chest.

Reacting swiftly, Alderic defended himself by using his sword, which was still in its scabbard, to block the attack.

The impact created a deafening explosion as a powerful shockwave and a fierce gust of wind erupted, sending a long arc of wind in all directions from the point of contact.

This move happened so rapidly that even the Tier 7 orcs witnessing the encounter couldn’t fully comprehend what had just occurred.

Grimgore wore a wicked grin on his lips as he stared at Alderic, who now appeared somewhat pitiful.

The black armor that Alderic had been using to disguise himself had been obliterated, revealing his normal, shorter stature in his work clothes.

”Now I’m pissed,” Alderic declared.

As if in response, white tattoos began to emerge all over his body, gradually transforming into a magnificent suit of armor.

As he became fully adorned in his spirit equipment set.

With this transformation, Alderic’s entire demeanor changed completely, from the grumpy old man to looking like a revered knight, donning shining armor and wielding his long sword.
