The Golem Mage

”Alec !” Agnes exclaimed, straining to listen to the noise coming from the city gates.

”I think Alec is back!”

”Yeah, it’s definitely him,” Terran confirmed.

”No one else is called that name, I can hear the screaming, By the way, don’t let him know I’m here. I’ll see you all later.” With those words, Terran disappeared from their midst.

In truth, Terran had sneaked into the Abyss with the intention of protecting Alec, just like most elders in Big clan would do for their younger generations.

However, instead of helping Alec when he gets into trouble next, Terran ended up being the one getting in trouble, He didn’t want Alec to perceive him as an overprotective master.

So when Terran heard the chanting from the city gates, his heightened senses as a high-ranking mage allowed him to clearly hear what was being said.

He was well aware that they would label Alec as the Abyss Troublemaker, Knowing that he didn’t want Alec to feel like he was being followed by his master like a babysitter, Terran knew he had to leave, and that was exactly what he did.

Just as they were about to search for Alec, they started hearing the chanting growing closer until they eventually spotted Alec and about twenty nine golems behind him all carrying large sacks.

They were accompanied by numerous mages who had been waiting in the city for the portal to reopen, so they could return to their academy.

But since they hadn’t left yet and saw Alec returning with so much loot, they felt a sense of relief.

It was the first positive thing that had happened after the orcs’ failed attempt to capture the city, they decided to go loose with praises for him.

”Do you see what I mean?” Arthur remarked with a stylish air.

”Even if a colossal meteor were to fall on the entire region, wiping out countless creatures and races, and they declared only one person survived, I would never doubt that person is Alec.”

”What do you mean?” Knight questioned.

”Simple,” Arthur chuckled.

”That bastard’s life is even longer than that of cats with nine lives, and he is so handsome that He even managed to make a female hyena fall in love with him.” Arthur joked as

Knight laughed along with Arthur, but their laughter abruptly ceased when they felt a chilling presence behind them, Turning around, they were greeted with the sight of Agnes smiling. Stay tuned to NovelFire.Côm

”Now! Won’t you go greet our leader instead of unnecessarily gossiping here?” Agnes exclaimed, her left eye sparkling as if she were about to summon a spell if any of them dared to utter such words again.

”Of course!” Arthur gulped, and the entire group quickly made their way to Alec, embracing him tightly.

As Alec was truly impressed that they had all managed to survive and make it to the city, without any scratch.

”While we were shivering here, fighting for our lives, you were out in the wilderness making a profit, I told you, Brandon, it would have been better if I had stayed with our esteemed boss Alec, that way I would still have a small share of his immense loot,” Arthur complained, gazing at the golems who were carrying the large sacks.

There were many golems that Terran had never seen before, but their presence with Alec meant that he either had them under control or was their master as well since they have some slight semblance to the main Golems.

Smack!

”When will you ever change?, When there was trouble, you were the first to run away, Now, when it’s time to split the profit, you’re shamelessly the first to act, It’s not your fault but it’s Alec who caused it by tolerating your misbehaviour,”

Agnes snapped through gritted teeth, clearly furious with Arthur at that moment.

”Boss, she’s going to slap my senses away if this continues,” Terran slumped, clutching onto Alec’s legs, attempting to elicit sympathy.

However, it seemed that no one was paying attention to him since they were all accustomed to the bickering between him and Agnes.

”Now, you all can go back, Thanks for accompanying me. And Arthur, let go of my legs. I have to go see the old man at the armoury!” Alec addressed the crowd, prompting them to disperse.

However, most of them lingered nearby, eager to see just how much Alec had earned this time.

While they had only heard of Alec’s past exploits, they were now convinced he must have made a significant score, with the amount of sack he had his golems bring in.

Arthur, still unwilling to release his grip on Alec’s legs, suddenly felt a shiver trickle up his spine, This time, he was certain it wasn’t Agnes.

And when he looked up, he was met with the intense gazes of Titan, Legion, Oni, Hive Queen, and Butcher, as they were the ones closest to him.

”Do you want to die?, Don’t tell me you didn’t hear the master’s words,”

Legion mumbled from behind Alec, his voice barely audible but Arthur understood the threat implicit in his words.

”What the hell has gotten into this sadistic bastard?, He’s reverted back to his old ways, I thought all of his humanity was lost when he became a piece of steel,” Arthur thought, quickly releasing his grip on Alec and allowing the rest of the group to draw closer.

As they started discussing and telling Alec how the short man who used to attend to them in the counter of the armoury had handled the leader of Orcs who attack the city.

All of this came as a surprise to Alec, as he had not been aware that the city had been under attack, let alone the fact that the man he was going to exchange his loot with is said to be a top-tier Mage in the Tier 8 realm.

The high rank intimidated him as they entered the War God Mage armoury.

Meanwhile, in the Blaze Clan, the geniuses of younger generation from their inner branch who had been deployed to catch the sixth elder of the Lanzt and the Blades had all returned to their respective inner branches.

They made their way to their specialized training cave, where the air inside was a hundred times hotter than the outside.

However, they were all wearing the robes that have been engraved and encrypted with matching runes provided by their clan, so they were unaffected by the extreme heat.

The cave had been specifically designed to only accommodate those with the Blaze Clan bloodline.

If an intruder were to mistakenly enter, they would burn to death without proper preparation or protection.

Even if they had some form of protection, their powers would be significantly reduced inside the cave.
