The Golem Mage

At the academy, the entire council of esteemed Great Instructors had gathered in the meeting hall of the new Dean’s House.

As they exchanged uneasy glances, the weight of hurt and anger was palpable among them.

All of this stemmed from a revelation that shook them to the core.

It had all started when one of the two Tier 8 mages who is responsible for guarding the space passages to the Orc regions approached the new Dean with grave news.

That the portal that had functioned flawlessly for years had undergone a drastic change, and the once serene blue light had transformed into a forbidding shade of red, impeding any mage from entering the space passage.

This development alone was enough for the academy to realize that the city in the Abyss was under attack.

But what infuriated the new Dean even more was the discovery that there were no assigned High Tier mages within the based city in the Abyss.

Their absence was undoubtedly the reason why the space passage had been sealed off that easily , as there was no one strong enough to intervene against the assailants casting such a space lock spell, and this Is the reason why the Dean had called for all the Great Instructor.

”I’m sure by now you all understand the main reason behind me calling this meeting, which concerns the academy’s city in the Orc space passage.”

” I cannot fathom who leaked the information about the city lacking High Tier Mages to protect it in the first place, or who had the guts to believe they could do without my knowledge,”

The new Dean addressed the Great Instructors from his seat, casting a stern gaze upon those seated on the left and right sides of the hall.

Most of the instructors showed a perplexed expression towards the Dean’s statement, but he remained unconvinced.

In his mind, the only individuals with enough authority to reassign the High Tiers mages of the academy were the Great Instructors present at the meeting.

”Apologies, Dean,” an elderly man with streaks of black hair spoke up , his voice carrying wisdom and experience.

”The lizard men in the second space passage under the academy control and the Minotaurs in the third space passage have formed an unexpected alliance, causing unrest.”

” So I took it upon myself to deploy the Tier 7 commanders from the Orc villages regions passage to support the other two passages, and at that time It seemed necessary, given the lack of recent conflict we have had with the Orcs,” Gideon explained.

Gideon is a peak Tier 8 mage and also the father of Igor.

Upon hearing what had happened with his son almost being attacked by Terran, he had rushed to emerged from seclusion.

However, he soon found himself taking the fall for another issue, as It turned out that the faction he was aligned with had been responsible for relocating the High Tier mages to the other passages without the new dean’s knowledge , as they were driven by their own hidden agenda.

While they had never anticipated that the Orcs would launch such a devastating attack, they were confident that nothing would happen to Gideon who was taking the blame, particularly because he is supposed to be in the same realm as the new Dean.

The Dean’s frown deepened as he realized that Gideon had volunteered to shoulder the blame for what had transpired.

With Gideon’s confession, there was little the Dean could do to punish those are really responsible or the pawns they used to get it down

Given the powerful forces supporting Gideon in the War God Mage Academy, It became evident that Gideon was merely obeying someone else’s orders.

The Dean reluctantly accepted that he must not offend the faction within the academy until he gained enough strength to challenge them.

If he were to touch their interests, they would stop at nothing to make his life difficult, In the past, when his senior apprentice brother, Mad Dog, was still present, the faction had treaded carefully due to his position as the Hall Master of the Disciplinary Hall.

He had the authority and power to keep them in check, Despite their numerous attempts to manipulate him, their schemes had always backfired.

Mad Dog had become an ardent opponent, determined to dismantle their plans and undermine their influence within the academy like it was his life goal.

However, in his absence, they were free to act as they pleased, The Disciplinary Hall had lost their sword of justice and could not even muster the strength to arrest any member of the faction when they committed wrongdoing.

They were filled with fear over the potential backlash they might face in the absence of their leader.

And that is why Although Igor had been identified as the one who threw Alec and his fellow clansmen into the Abyss, they refrained from punishing him due to the circumstances.

Instead, they turned a blind eye, Their only wish now was that Terran would forget all that happened and not meet his demise, as the faction had been eagerly searching for an opportunity to kill him, fearing he might become another Mad Dog in future with his talent.

”If he was here, I wouldn’t have to stress myself,” the Dean mumbled, leaning back in his chair. Find adventures on NovelFire.Côm

Although he said those words lightly, they stung the ears of all the high-tier mages present, especially those who were members of the faction.

After all, to prevent High Tier Mages who had hundred of meters sensitivity from overhearing something, restrictions on space had to be imposed.

Merely murmuring those words felt like an indirect slap in the face to the faction, as they knew exactly who the Dean was referring to with his statement.

Their facial expressions instantly changed, reminding one another of their plot to send Mad Dog to guard the special rift as he reached the Tier 9 Mage Realm.

They had hoped to be rid of him, even wishing for his demise, Yet their plan had failed, as they had heard rumours of his growing strength.

Now, mentioning his name had always put the faction in a tight spot.

”It’s a challenging situation I find myself in, However, it’s clear to all of us that even the Monarch Orcs have abandoned those regions, leaving them as training grounds.”

” The reason for this is simple most of the resources in that area have been fully plundered and utilized elsewhere according to their desires, So, either way, the passage is not worth all the trouble, We can easily secure it from here before they turn it into a space gate that they can use to attack us every Blood Moon,” Gideon explained.

”That would not be possible, Don’t tell me you are forgetting about the thousands of lives that are there. Are you planning on giving up on them so easily?”

Ignatius, a disciplinary Hall elder and one of the great instructors, asked with a frown in response to Gideon’s suggestion of locking down the space passage, while there was still a city of mages there.

From their standpoint, such a move would prevent the Orcs from opening a space gate that leads to the Academy every blood moon after he captured the city, and gain access to it.

However, it would also mean trapping everyone human mage with the Orcs, with no means of escape and a vast distance of a million miles over the treacherous Red Abyss sea before reaching another space passage and a city belonging to humans.

It almost felt as if Gideon was condemning them to a death sentence, like he saw them as already dead while they were still alive.

”In that case, I have a proposition for Ignatius, Dean,” Gideon interjected.

”What might that be?” the Dean inquired.

”I am fully prepared to fund all the necessary renovations for the city and compensate the families of the fallen mages, However, this will only happen if we somehow find a way to regain control of the city under the Academy within the next 24 hours.”

” Otherwise, we will have no choice but to proceed with locking down the space passage” Gideon stated.
