Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1244: Chapter 1258: Food Safety Supervision Bureau

Mom Xiong, upon seeing the man, reacted as if she’d seen a savior, crying even louder, ”Brother, if you hadn’t come, I would’ve been beaten to death by them. Hurry and call someone to arrest them. Not a single one of them should be allowed to escape. I want them to pay the price.”

The middle-aged man walked over and saw Dad Xiong lying on the ground with his face covered in blood, while his own security guards were rolling on the ground, groaning in pain. His expression turned frighteningly dark as he coldly addressed Zhang Liang and Fang Hui standing there.

”I don’t know how my people offended you two to deserve such a beating. This is a society governed by law. The entire area of the Kong Mansion Banquet is under surveillance. We have already called the police, and you’d best turn yourselves in.”

Upon hearing the man’s tone, Fang Hui immediately recognized him as the manager here. Hearing the woman call him ’brother’ clarified their relationship, explaining why Dad Xiong was so arrogant.

Although he had been in Nan’an all along, he had heard about the Kong Mansion Banquet chain in the Imperial City. A few years ago, he had visited the Imperial City with his family and had also taken them to dine at one of their restaurants. However, that restaurant wasn’t as grand as this one, which seemed to be the main branch.

It seems that being able to open a decent-sized chain in the Imperial City, the owner of the Kong Mansion Banquet must possess a certain level of power and influence.

But now, it seems they’ve hit a hard wall this time.

Fang Hui nonchalantly rubbed his arm, which was still sore from hitting someone earlier, and put on an air of politeness, saying, ”It’s good that the police are coming; I, too, would like to ask why, when I came to the Kong Mansion Banquet to eat, I was blocked and not allowed to leave, and then confronted by a bunch of security guards making threats. Is the public order in the Imperial City really this bad?”

Hearing Fang Hui’s words, Kong Linghui looked over at the parking spot behind him, and when he saw the person beside the car, his pupils shrank suddenly.

Standing by the car, in light gray dress pants and a pure white shirt, was none other than Shen Wenxuan, the leader of the Imperial City’s Food and Health Supervision Bureau.

Kong Linghui’s heart skipped a beat; he hadn’t expected Director Shen to come to their Kong Mansion Banquet for a meal—could this be an undercover visit?

But then he thought about how they had always maintained strict food safety standards, and even if Director Shen dropped by occasionally, there wouldn’t be a disclosure in this regard. He breathed a slight sigh of relief, but the next second, his heart tightened again.

What did that man just say? Their car was blocked in its parking space and was threatened by the hotel security staff.

He then looked at the car in front; a red Ferrari. Though red Ferraris were not uncommon in the Imperial City, the license plate looked somewhat familiar.

He glanced again at his fallen brother-in-law and his pitifully crying sister. Wasn’t that car his sister’s?

At this moment, Mom Xiong was still clamoring, ”Brother, we’re just back from Nan’an today, and we ran into them at the airport, where they gave us a hard time. They relied on their numbers to bully Little Bao and me. When Da Zhi argued with them, just look at how they beat Da Zhi, Brother. We can’t let them go, and the security here is terrible. How can so many of them not handle these three?”

Kong Linghui, not caring anymore about who might have been facing off against who, hurriedly stepped forward with a flattering expression, ”Director Shen, Director Shen, it’s such an honor to have you here, but our reception has been lacking. I wonder if there’s been a misunderstanding?”

Shen Wenxuan was debating with Mu Xingfeng over whether An Ran would leave with him to the Shen Family or with Mu Xingfeng to the Mu Family, but upon hearing someone address him as Director Shen, he turned his head to see that Kong Linghui was already right in front of him.
