Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1203: Chapter 1217: Mr. An Has Guts

On Monday, it was rare for Lu Yi to be late, but he hurried in from outside just as the bell for the last class was ringing.

An Ran took advantage of the teacher writing on the blackboard to quietly nudge him and softly ask, ”Did something happen? Why were you late?”

From what she knew about Lu Yi, although studying medicine was just a hobby for him and he didn’t plan to pursue it after graduation, he took his studies very seriously. Since the start of the term, he never arrived late or left early, regardless of the weather.

”No, I just went to my alma mater. I’m planning to bring Changsheng here to continue his studies,” Lu Yi glanced at the teacher as he explained and then tapped An Ran’s forehead with his pen. ”Pay attention in class, or else the teacher will scold you again later.”

An Ran rubbed her forehead, looking at Lu Yi’s profile.

During those days they stayed at Grandma Li’s house in Qingfeng Town, Lu Yi often chatted with Changsheng. Initially, she thought it was just because they were both boys and had more topics in common, but she didn’t expect Lu Yi to really care about that child.

Changsheng is a smart and diligent kid. It was said that after finishing middle school, he scored excellently to get into the county’s high school, but his spot was taken by a child from a wealthy family.

If Lu Yi brings Changsheng to study in Nan’an, then what about Grandma Li?

Grandma Li, already so advanced in years and not in good health, relied heavily on Changsheng. If Changsheng left for school, wouldn’t that leave Grandma alone in the village?

Thinking it over, An Ran decided to call Saintly Charity Nursing Home after class, to see if they could bring Grandma Li there to spend her later years. This way, not only would her living be secured, but Changsheng could also visit her when he was on break.

Grandma Li had shown kindness to her and her mother. If it weren’t for Grandma Li’s kind accommodation back then, she and her mother might not have made it.

After class, An Ran directly called Dean Fang at Saintly Charity Nursing Home.

To facilitate things, An Ran asked Dean Fang to find either a single courtyard or private suite for Grandma Li so that Changsheng could visit her at the nursing home during holidays.

During her last inspection of the Saintly Charity Nursing Home, An Ran had noticed that there were two rows of independent small courtyards in the back, which were part of the Saintly Charity Nursing Home’s high-end VIP area.

The environment is top-notch, and every elderly person or elderly couple can live in an independent courtyard, with professional medical staff conducting regular check-ups and care, although the fees are also the highest.

This area is the main source of income for the Saintly Charity Nursing Home.

An Ran arranging for Grandma Li’s stay would certainly be free of charge. Even so, given that the major shareholder of the Wenshan Group gave the word, Dean Fang had no reason to refuse and promptly indicated that the arrangements would be made quickly to ensure that once Grandma Li arrives in Nan’an, she could directly move into the Saintly Charity Nursing Home.

The call was made on the way to the cafeteria, and An Ran didn’t shy away from Lu Yi or Xiao Xiao. Now, the three of them having meals together had become a routine.

Seeing An Ran hang up the phone, Lu Yi shook his head with a smile, ”It seems Mr. An has more guts than me. I did mention to Changsheng about finding a place near the school for them and bringing Grandma Li along, but Grandma Li refused. She has lived in the mountains her whole life, and although she can’t bear to part with Changsheng, she doesn’t want to come to the city and live her later years in an apartment. I still remember Grandma Li finding our apartment building small and only suitable for raising pigeons, like a dovecote.”
