Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1205: Chapter 1219: Who Does Heaven Ever Spare?

”An Ran, your soup, I specially ordered a small pot to make black bean fish head soup for you, it’s the best for nourishing your energy and blood.”

Looking at the bowl of soup Zheng Kai brought over, An Ran looked at the egg seaweed soup in front of him.

An Ran: ”...”

Hahaha, no one can escape fate!

Watching the plate and soup in front of An Ran, Xiao Xiao chuckled.

”Not bad, Zheng Kai, you put some thought into making the meal for An Ran today, this year in the medical department hasn’t been wasted.”

Zheng Kai scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed by Xiao Xiao’s words.

”My mom always says we should help each other as classmates, especially since we’re all studying medicine, we should have a heart full of compassion. This is just a small thing, not worth mentioning.”

”A heart full of compassion? Shouldn’t it be universal love? You can’t favor one over another, next time help Lu Yi and me with our meals too, alright?” Xiao Xiao said, looking at Zheng Kai’s reddened ears, grinning mischievously.

”No need, I’ll still get it myself,” Lu Yi disdainfully interjected, while placing a piece of braised ribs from his own plate onto An Ran’s.

An Ran, biting on a carrot slice, saw the shiny, oily braised ribs, so moved that she almost burst into tears, ”The one who understands me is Lu Yi.”

Zheng Kai looked at An Ran and then at Lu Yi, his gaze darting between the two, creating quite a lively atmosphere. Finally, he drank half a bowl of soup in one go, put down the soup bowl, and spoke again, breaking the suffocating atmosphere.

”An Ran, the nursing home will host some activities during the Mid-Autumn Festival. I checked, this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival coincides with the National Day holiday. How about we go to the nursing home together to spend the festival with the elderly?”

Almost every holiday, Zheng Kai spends his time at the nursing home, because, to him, spending festivals with the elderly, bringing them warmth and joy, is the happiest thing.

”I know about this, but I might not be able to go. I’m planning to go home for the National Day holiday. If I don’t, my grandpa and grandfather are almost ready to come to Nan’an to bring me back.”

During the summer vacation, Mu Xingfeng stayed here, so An Ran didn’t return to the Imperial City. Because of this, her grandfather called several times, complaining that she didn’t think about him, and if she doesn’t go back for the National Day holiday, he’s likely to send his guards to bring her back.

Moreover, Mu Xingfeng is still in the Imperial City, maybe he won’t need her grandfather to act, Mu Xingfeng can just come and take her.

”Alright then,” Zheng Kai responded dejectedly, shoveling food into his mouth from his plate, occasionally glancing at Lu Yi who was picking food into An Ran’s plate.

Until the meal was almost over, Lu Yi handed his seaweed egg drop soup to An Ran, ”You drink mine.”

An Ran was just being choked by a piece of spinach, so she didn’t refuse and took a big sip immediately.

Xiao Xiao then handed his soup to Lu Yi, ”You drink mine, I’m tired of the seaweed egg drop soup from the cafeteria.”

”You just have your eye on An Ran’s fish head soup, right?” Lu Yi teased Xiao Xiao, taking Xiao Xiao’s soup to drink.

”I only don’t want to waste Zheng Kai’s good intentions, so I’ll reluctantly take it,” Xiao Xiao laughed, taking the black bean fish head soup from An Ran’s spot, then said to Zheng Kai, ”Ranran has been drinking too much river water recently, she’s avoiding fish, so I’ll drink this soup for her, thanks.”

”No worries, Xiao Xiao, go ahead,” Zheng Kai waved his hand, looking at the trio’s soup bowls. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration hit him, his eyes lit up like a 200-watt bulb.
