Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1209: Chapter 1223: Shen Jie Is My Mother

This kind of courtyard layout is one of five at Saintly Charity Nursing Home, prepared for couples who wish to retire here but still want to live independently.

Knowing that Grandma Li might not be accustomed to having service personnel deliver meals three times a day, An Ran had Dean Fang specially prepare this type of courtyard.

The bedding in the bedroom is new, and the wardrobe is empty.

”Every season, the nursing home distributes new clothes to the elderly, but since we don’t know Grandma Li’s preferences and sizes, after she arrives, a staff member will assist her in choosing clothes,” Dean Fang explained.

”Every day the kitchen will have staff deliver fresh vegetables and fruits to each household, and essentials like rice, flour, and oil can be provided at any time. Every resident’s phone has both external and internal lines, the internal phone can connect to service personnel with a direct dial of three digits, and assistance is available immediately. If the elderly have difficulty operating it, quick-dial can be set up for single-digit dialing,”

An Ran nodded continuously while listening, indeed worried that Grandma Li, coming from the mountains, might find it uncomfortable adjusting to life in the nursing home, or rely solely on the service personnel, feeling defeated.

She knew, despite Grandma Li being elderly, she couldn’t stay idle; she did all the work at home by herself.

It’s perfect now, here all worries are gone. If Grandma Li wishes to live independently, she can close the door and enjoy her life. If her health declines or she gets even older, there’s no need to worry about being without Changsheng by her side, with no one to take care of her.

Nearing noon, Lu Yi brought Grandma Li and Changsheng to the nursing home.

Opening the car door, Grandma Li saw An Ran waiting under the car, and her blurry gaze held a gentle warmth, like sunlight in winter, lonely yet warm.

”Grandma Li, do you remember me?” An Ran stepped forward and asked.

”I remember, I remember, you’re Ran, more beautiful now,” Grandma Li reached out and gently stroked the top of An Ran’s head, affection spread across her smiling face.

An Ran helped Grandma Li into the courtyard, ”Grandma Li, from now on this small courtyard will be your home, if there’s anything you’re not happy with, I’ll ask the staff to make adjustments.”

Grandma Li looked around the small courtyard, uncertainty in her eyes, ”This small courtyard is just for me and Changsheng?”

”Yes, this small courtyard is only for you and Changsheng, if you need daily necessities, talk to the staff, every day someone will deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to you. If you need anything else, you can ask them too. There are several other courtyards nearby where other elders live. If you ever feel bored, you can visit them or take a walk in the front. The little garden up front always has elders sunbathing there,”

Listening to An Ran’s words, the uncertainty in Grandma Li’s eyes gradually turned into delight. If it weren’t for Changsheng, she’d rather die in that small valley.

Thinking about living in a big city felt helpless and terrifying, especially hearing about coming to a nursing home, fearing that people here would look down on her. But for Changsheng, she still came.

Unexpectedly, An Ran managed to dispel all her worries.

”Ran, thank you,” Grandma Li said sincerely, holding An Ran’s hand.

”Grandma Li, it’s what I should do, Shen Jie is my mother,” towards the end, An Ran’s eyes reddened.

Grandma Li smiled kindly, she knew even though her vision was fading, her heart was bright.
