Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1212: Chapter 1226: Did We Make Things Difficult for You?

An Ran nodded, ”I didn’t plan to save you money, just wanted to eat snail noodles myself, and thought it’d be a good chance for you to try it. The snail noodles from this place are very authentic. Mu Xingfeng even praised how tasty they are.”

Xiao Xiao looked at An Ran, who was calmly speaking nonsense with her eyes wide open, knowing full well that she brought up Instructor Mu several times just to mess with Sun Wangbei.

She chimed in, ”Yeah, this is a local specialty, and Lin Junyang also thinks it’s pretty good.”

Sure enough, Sun Wangbei gave up on his final struggle after hearing this.

Fine then, since his brothers have eaten it, he might as well try it too.

But this dining environment...

Sun Wangbei was different from Mu Xingfeng and the others; as a soldier, they often don’t have the condition to be choosy about food. During field training, eating and sleeping in the open is common, and on missions, they often stake out criminals, so as long as it’s clean and hygienic, it’s good enough.

Sun Wangbei, apart from now being the big boss of Jiawen Entertainment, never came to such places to eat during his school days as his family conditions were decent.

Furthermore, his outfit was simply too conspicuous. Nowadays, even if college students don’t have the means to pursue material things relentlessly, most still have some knowledge of those big brands.

People around started whispering, occasionally giving him glances, making him feel terribly uncomfortable.

”Young Madam, I’m really risking my life to accompany you today,” Sun Wangbei couldn’t help but complain, his face showing grievance as if being forced into something against his will.

”What? Bringing you here is making you feel aggrieved?” An Ran crossed her arms, looking as if she’d make him face consequences if he dared to agree.

Sure enough, Sun Wangbei straightened up instantly, ”No... No, how could I feel aggrieved when Young Madam brought me here to dine? It’s just that I’ve been to Nan’an so many times and haven’t properly tasted the local specialties.”

He was sure that if he dared to say so, the Second Brother would soon show him what real grievance was.

Three bowls of snail noodles were served; An Ran and Xiao Xiao ordered mildly spicy, and not knowing Sun Wangbei’s taste, she didn’t specifically adjust his, so his bowl was just normally spicy.

She thought, since Sun Wangbei was from the north like Mu Xingfeng and the others, he might have a similarly strong taste preference.

However, this was just her assumption, and Sun Wangbei was evidently the exception.

Snail noodles get their name because the broth is brewed from snails; the more authentic it is, the heavier the snail flavor in the broth, which combined with spicy soup, is the dish’s main characteristic.

Locals love this taste, but outsiders might not be accustomed to the fishy aroma.

And Sun Wangbei was clearly an outsider who couldn’t adapt to the flavor, moreover, he was quite averse to spiciness. After taking one bite, he almost lost his composure and spit it back into the bowl.

Seeing An Ran and Xiao Xiao’s two pairs of beautiful big eyes simultaneously staring at him, he gentlemanly swallowed the snail noodles into his stomach, while offering a look of approval.

”Isn’t it delicious?” An Ran followed up triumphantly, with a look suggesting only she could lead him to enjoy such good food.

Sun Wangbei forced a smile less pleasing than a cry, ”It’s indeed good.”

”If it’s good, eat more. If it’s not enough, order another bowl. This meal’s on me.” An Ran said generously.

Sun Wangbei: ”...”

Thank you very much, the foremost shareholder of Wenshan Group, the Young Madam of the Mu Family, offering him this dish. Wondering if telling Second Brother about his ordeal would earn him a proper compensation meal later on.
