Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 360: Chapter 373 She Will Be My Wife

Not far from the start, at a bend, they ran into Gu Haoyu.

An Ran had heard that Gu Haoyu also lived in this villa area, but she didn’t expect to meet him during her morning run.

”Morning, brother,” Mu Xingfeng greeted him naturally, as if they often met like this.

”Morning,” Gu Haoyu responded, but his gaze fell on An Ran behind him. Seeing the little girl’s reluctant expression not far away, a touch of inexplicable emotion flashed in his eyes.

”Why didn’t you come to the party yesterday?” Gu Haoyu asked casually as they ran.

”Ranran got hurt a bit yesterday, so I stayed home with her to rest.”

Hearing Mu Xingfeng’s explanation, Gu Haoyu turned back to look at An Ran just a few steps behind them. Injured and couldn’t attend the party, but can run this morning?

As if seeing through Gu Haoyu’s thoughts, Mu Xingfeng added, ”A minor injury can’t keep her from training. A little injury shouldn’t mean skipping training, that’s not my style.”

Gu Haoyu smiled at this, ”Are you sure this is how you treat a girlfriend?”

Training a girlfriend like a new recruit, that was rare indeed. Suddenly, being Mu Xingfeng’s girlfriend seemed rather miserable.

”Of course not. She will be my wife,” Mu Xingfeng said firmly, glancing back at An Ran.

Gu Haoyu looked at Mu Xingfeng deeply and said no more.

The two continued running forward, but this was tough for An Ran. Ever since Gu Haoyu showed up, Mu Xingfeng’s pace unknowingly increased. An Ran was already exhausted, and now she couldn’t keep up at all.

Mu Xingfeng, running, noticed the lack of movement behind him. Turning back, he saw the little girl standing by the roadside, bent over.

”An Ran, keep up,” Mu Xingfeng called out. His voice wasn’t harsh, but it certainly wasn’t gentle.

An Ran pouted, staying where she was, still catching her breath.

Her leg injury from the previous day wasn’t severe, but after running such a distance, it started to hurt more.

Seeing that she wasn’t coming, Mu Xingfeng ran back a few steps, looking at the little girl’s unhappy face. She was panting heavily with her mouth open, just like a little puppy, which softened his gaze.

”Tired? It’s not even three kilometers. You could usually make it,” he said with a gentle voice.

An Ran, hearing Mu Xingfeng’s soft voice, felt even more aggrieved.

Her relationship with Mu Xingfeng was absurdly complicated. When he was strict and cold, she always behaved very obediently, like a schoolchild fearing a teacher.

But when Mu Xingfeng was gentle, she felt like being spoiled and couldn’t hide her grievances, just like seeing a close family member, making her inevitably feel wronged.

Now, hearing Mu Xingfeng’s gentle, caring words, An Ran’s eyes reddened, ”My leg hurts.”

Seeing the little girl’s reddened eyes and hearing her say her leg hurt with such grievance, Mu Xingfeng’s body acted before his mind. He scooped An Ran up into his arms and strode back purposefully, ”I’ll take you home.”

Not far away, Gu Haoyu: ”...”

He retracted his earlier thoughts. He hadn’t expected that the cold-faced Captain Mu could be so indulgent towards a woman.

An Ran just wanted to rest for a while, not expecting Mu Xingfeng to give her the day off and even carry her home. She felt suddenly proud.

She wrapped her arms around Mu Xingfeng’s lean waist, found a comfortable position in his hold, and even nuzzled her head against his chest with a satisfied look, ”Thank you, Instructor Mu.”
