Chapter 1132: Chapter 17: Silence

Bubu Wang crashes into the crystal layer, having rich experience with ’car accidents,’ and as soon as Bubu Wang landed, it got up and ’charged forward.’

”Wrong way!”

Su Xiao shouted, and the somewhat confused Bubu Wang immediately made a 180° turn upon seeing Su Xiao rushing towards it.

Bam!

Su Xiao gave a kick to Bubu Wang’s rear, helping it to accelerate, with the force of this kick being particularly exquisite, increasing Bubu Wang’s forward speed instantly.

Crunch crunch crunch...

Crystal shattering sounds approached from behind, accompanied by terrifying heat, the last runner, A Mu, had smoke coming from his rear due to the roasting.

The turn is just ahead, and Maha, carrying Yaluga, was the first to rush through the corner, but the next moment, he suddenly braked sharply, and crystal shards splattered underfoot.

Su Xiao also rushed around the corner, what met his eyes was a pink expanse.

”Shh.”

Maha made a silencing gesture, he walked quickly forward, trying to avoid making noise.

The place they were in at the moment was a cave, about a thousand square meters in size, around five or six meters high.

Su Xiao and others all entered the cave, with A Mu, at the rear, also lightening his steps.

The ash thickened behind, but strangely, it didn’t flow into the cave, seemingly blocked by an invisible barrier; a closer look would reveal that the ash was surging upwards, which is why it didn’t drift into the cave.

Temporarily safe, Su Xiao began to observe the situation inside the cave.

The ground of the cave was dotted with hundreds of sharp, conical stalactites, all pink in color. And above them, hanging down from the cave’s ceiling, were large clusters of pink tendrils, packed densely, filling most of the cave’s space.

These tendrils were very much like some kind of plant root system, about the thickness of fingers, semi-transparent, soft in texture, gently swaying like willow branches.

Pink liquid dripped along the tendrils onto the stalactites below, this is how these stalactites formed.

The entire cave was filled with a sweet aroma, a scent that was overly cloying.

Su Xiao pointed at those tendrils, his gaze moving to Maha, asking what these things were.

Maha made the silencing gesture again and pointed at the tendrils, roughly meaning that they absolutely cannot make a sound, nor can they touch the tendrils.

Maha’s answer was vague, hence Su Xiao tried using the Eye of the Apostle to detect the origins of these tendrils.

[Detecting...]

[Detected that the enemy is a plant/creature, tier position assessment ongoing...]

[Assessment complete, obtained 82% of the enemy’s information.]

Information is as follows

Name: Abaye

Category: Plant/Animal.

Life Value: 100%

Mana Value: None (no Mana Value in plant form)

Power: 21

Agility: 86

Stamina: 83

Intelligence: 13

Charm: 5

Skill 1, Severe Paralysis Toxin (Active Lv.40), the tendrils of Abaye can secrete a severe paralysis toxin.

Skill 2, Independent Consciousness (Passive Lv.20), when Abaye is in plant form, it will be of collective consciousness; if transformed into animal form, it will gain individual independent consciousness.

Skill 3, Photosynthetic Decomposition (Passive Lv.36): Abaye can use tendrils to wrap prey and make a decision; if the decision passes, it will decompose all wrapped objects/creatures/plants, converting them into nutrients.

Note: If prey is paralyzed, the Photosynthetic Decomposition (Passive) decision will definitely pass.

Skill 4, Voice Sensitivity (Passive Lv.38): Abaye is a voice-sensitive plant/creature; it can determine the prey’s position through external sounds.

Skill 5: ???

Skill 6: ???

...

Su Xiao’s brows knitted, from the information it could be seen that this plant or creature is very tricky, being wrapped by it could have very serious consequences.

Just making no noise will suffice? Of course not, if one wishes to proceed further, one must find a way to deal with Abaye or find a clever method to pass.

The entire cave is occupied by Abaye, its tendrils hang a meter above the ground, and below is a large area of stalactites.

The possibility of passing through on the ground is unlikely, on the ground is a layer of pink viscous substance, this is most likely the severe paralysis toxin secreted by Abaye.

Su Xiao took out a metal rod from the Storage Space and tried touching the pink liquid on the ground with it.

Hiss～

The pink liquid instantly eroded the metal rod, this thing had strong ’corrosiveness.’

The hissing sound wasn’t loud, but the surrounding pink tendrils suddenly curled up, upon seeing this scene, Su Xiao immediately threw the metal rod away.

The moment the metal rod hit the ground, it was wrapped tightly by the elongating pink tendrils.

After 2 seconds, the metal rod was eroded into dregs, its surface became rough, like chewed sugarcane.

Several tendrils curled toward Su Xiao’s front, where sound was made earlier, the tendrils returned fruitlessly, gradually retracting to their original length.

”Gulu～”

Killua swallowed saliva, he had a very visceral feeling; if wrapped by these tendrils, he would be decomposed and absorbed instantly, eventually turning into a pile of bone dregs.

According to Maha’s previous description, the last time he delved into Kukuru Mountain, he was stopped here, and as for how he left Inner Kukuru Mountain, the answer is simple: he returned the same way.

Though the crystal cave behind was broken, it will gradually regenerate; as long as the ash spreads, the crystal cave will regenerate within about a week, the gas emitted by Abaye combined with the ash will produce the pale red crystal, as for the shape of the crystal cave, it’s left to fate.

Last time Maha entered here, he was trapped for a full month; fortunately, he brought enough food to endure for a month.

Maha took out a notebook from the large backpack behind and handed it to Su Xiao, indicating for Su Xiao to read it.

The contents of the notebook were Maha’s research on this semi-plant ’Abaye’; the last time he left, he ventured to obtain a segment of Abaye’s tendril.

Abaye’s weaknesses are three.

Fear of Fire: instinctual fear, in reality, fire poses little threat to Abaye.

Fear of Sunlight: upon exposure to sunlight, Abaye will experience great pain and quickly transform into a creature form.

Fear of Sharp Weapons: Abaye is extremely resilient; tearing and pulling cause little damage, but it greatly fears the cleave of sharp weapons.

Seeing Abaye’s third weakness, Su Xiao figured out why Maha would collaborate with him, not to mention that Maha does not trust him, just the fact that the other party is willing to pay 8 Soul Crystals puzzled Su Xiao for a long time.

Before arriving here, Su Xiao once believed Maha would turn into a cunning old fox any time, now it seems this possibility may not be high.

Maha doesn’t know how many times he’s been stuck in ’Abaye,’ judging from his proficiency in exploring the volcano’s crater.

Su Xiao pointed to Maha, then pointed at the Dragon Slash at his waist, and finally at A Mu.

After a moment of thought, Maha eventually nodded.

Su Xiao’s intention was, he would attract Abaye’s attention, and carve a path through the large tendrils of Abaye; during this period, everyone must stay away from Su Xiao.

Once Su Xiao finds an exit, A Mu will then throw others over to avoid contact with the ground, Maha first, he will be in charge of observing the situation on the other side; if the other side is safe, A Mu will proceed to throw the others.

Given the number and scale of Abaye, brute force clearly doesn’t work; as for completely eliminating this thing, the possibility is really low, unless large-scale heat weapons are used, but it’s a volcano, who dares to use large-scale heat weapons here?
