Chapter 1122: Chapter 7: Zoldyck Family

Su Xiao and Zeno exchanged glances. After a few seconds, Zeno waved his hand, and the butlers dispersed, leaving only the chief steward Parasol Tree. Zeno determined that Su Xiao had no hostile intent.

”Although I don’t sense any hostility from you, someone like you wouldn’t come here just to sightsee, right? You aren’t here because of that last incident to find my grandson, are you?”

Su Xiao had fought with Ilmi before, so it’s not surprising Zeno had such suspicions.

Despite suspecting that Su Xiao had a certain motive, Zeno still invited Su Xiao to enter the Zoldyck Family headquarters.

”That’s not exactly a personal grievance, but if there’s a chance, I wouldn’t mind taking him out.”

Su Xiao didn’t hide his intent to kill Ilmi, as there was no need to.

”I figured as much, but if you kill him, our Zoldyck Family will certainly retaliate.”

”That’s a matter for later.”

”You’re right, that’s a matter for later.”

The conversation between Su Xiao and Zeno might seem strange, but for an assassin family, this is quite normal.

The Zoldyck Family is a pure assassin family, with ten direct lineage members. If they receive opposing tasks, it’s not impossible for them to become adversaries. Assassination tasks come first; a task is just a task, nothing else.

Once, in Yukexin City, Ilmi received a task to assassinate the Ten Old Man, while Zeno and Silva were hired by the Ten Old Man’s side, making them obvious adversaries. That’s the Zoldyck Family for you.

Following Zeno, Su Xiao arrived in front of an ancient castle. This castle was somewhat old on the outside, but it represented the history of the Zoldyck Clan.

”I’m here this time mainly to see someone.”

Su Xiao looked at the castle ahead and spoke calmly.

”Who?”

”Maha Zoldyck.”

”...”

Zeno fell silent.

”I can’t quite figure out why you want to see my grandfather.”

Old man Zeno’s grandfather, one can imagine how much older Maha Zoldyck must be.

”If it’s just a casual visit, you’re welcome. But as for seeing my grandfather, that’s unlikely. He’ll only show up when there’s a mission.”

Zeno walked forward, motioning for Su Xiao to follow.

”You’ve come from Yukexin, and you don’t seem hostile. It’s unreasonable not to entertain you.”

Zeno invited Su Xiao into the castle, which was dimly lit inside. After some winding paths, he took Su Xiao to a living room.

The living room was brightly lit, with a large dining table in the center filled with various foods.

”Sit.”

Zeno sat in a secondary position, while Su Xiao casually chose a seat. The main seat was clearly reserved for Maha Zoldyck, even if he wouldn’t dine, the spot would be left for him.

Soon, members of the Zoldyck Family walked into the living room.

The Zoldyck Family has ten members: the oldest Maha Zoldyck, followed by Zeno Zoldyck two generations down, then Silva Zoldyck and his wife Ji Qiu, and the youngest generation consisting of five siblings, Silva and Ji Qiu’s children.

The eldest, Ilmi Zoldyck; second son, Mi Ji Zoldyck (an overweight expert in computer technology); third son, Killua Zoldyck; fourth child, Yaluga Zoldyck (an unknown, terrifying entity); fifth child, Coate Zoldyck (a cross-dressing big guy).

These five siblings are quite distinctive; the fourth and fifth children seemingly look like girls, but they are actually boys. The eldest, Ilmi, has a serious obsession with his younger brothers, especially the third, Killua. If Uchiha Itachi loves his brother, Ilmi is purely obsessed.

As for the second son, Mi Ji Zoldyck, he appears to be a fat shut-in but is actually the most significant contributor to the Zoldyck Family among the five siblings, managing the intelligence network, funds, safe channels for receiving tasks, etc. The family praises him for his super intelligence, albeit being somewhat ’unhinged’.

Quickly, apart from Maha Zoldyck, Zeno’s wife, the third son Killua, and the fourth child Yaluga Zoldyck, the other Zoldyck family members gathered, totaling six people.

Ilmi stood by the door, squinting at his grandfather Zeno.

”Don’t just stand there like a fool; he’s not here to kill you.”

”Oh? Then I’m relieved.”

Ilmi couldn’t quite figure it out either, couldn’t understand why Su Xiao had become so much stronger.

Counting Bubu Wang, there were seven people and a dog around the table, with A Mu standing aside. If he sat down, the food and utensils might not remain intact.

The second son, Mi Ji Zoldyck, curiously glanced at Su Xiao, seemingly recognizing him. As for the cross-dressing big guy Coate Zoldyck, he kept his head down, eating.

The Zoldyck Family seemed strong with numbers, but if Su Xiao suddenly attacked, adding A Mu and Bubu Wang, the Zoldyck Family members here wouldn’t be a match. The best outcome would be Zeno+Silva+Ilmi holding Su Xiao at bay while Ji Qiu evacuated with her two sons.

But if Maha Zoldyck were present, Su Xiao would certainly die. With Su Xiao’s Dragon Shadow Flash ability, the second son and cross-dressing big guy would indeed die first.

”Can’t really meet Maha Zoldyck?”

Su Xiao fiddled with a silver fork in his hand, not eating the food on the table, as his relationship with the Zoldyck Family was at most a minor acquaintance, limited to Zeno.

Therefore, it wasn’t impossible for the Zoldyck Family to poison the food; they are an assassin family, and one slip could cost him his life here.

”It’s quite unlikely.”

Zeno put down the utensils, he wasn’t hosting Su Xiao out of enthusiasm, but rather because he had to; if it came to a confrontation, even if they could kill Su Xiao, it would lead to casualties within the Zoldyck Family.

”Well then...”

The silver fork fell onto the table with a clinking sound. Alongside him, Coate Zoldyck concocted a scenario in his head, thinking: ”Well then... what if I kill everyone here?”

Thinking of this, the cross-dressing big guy covertly pulled out a folded fan, preparing for battle.

”Well then... how about hiring for a fee?”

”Huh?”

Coate Zoldyck was taken aback, while the chubby Mi Ji Zoldyck showed a look of realization, skewering a steak from the table and chewing it, sauce smearing his mouth.

”Of course, no problem. We wouldn’t turn down a task of this level; what’s the content of the hiring? To kill you?”

Zeno knew today’s issue had pretty much resolved. He was actually waiting for Su Xiao to say those words.

”I’ll calculate the hiring fee.”

Mi Ji Zoldyck pulled out a small computer, and within seconds, handed Su Xiao a list.

The price on the list was astounding, with Su Xiao’s cash on hand being insufficient to pay.

”I don’t have this much cash.”

”It’s okay, we accept jewelry, mines, real estate, including various rare antiques. Slaves, though, aren’t supported in this region.”

Mi Ji Zoldyck’s enthusiasm was evident, as this was his field of expertise.

”The content of the hiring is simple: to have Maha Zoldyck teach me some of the Zoldyck Family’s assassination techniques; I’m interested in this.”

Su Xiao naturally wouldn’t spend money for nothing; as long as he could see Maha Zoldyck, there’d definitely be a chance for a confrontation, so why not take the opportunity to reap some benefits.

”Price will be threefold.”

Clearly, not all assassination techniques of the Zoldyck Family are strictly confidential; what is truly kept secret are the advanced knowledge about Telekinesis Ability.

”Deal.”

Su Xiao didn’t have that much Jieni, but he had acquired a lot of auction items from the Yukexin Auction. After the Ten Old Man fled when the Yukexin Auction started, Su Xiao naturally took possession of those items, never expecting a family like Zoldyck to be willing to take over auction items.
