Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 45: Chapter 13: Mascot

The Contractors on the Ghoul’s side were forced to cooperate, something Su Xiao knew nothing about.

Although he speculated that the third stage of the main quest was about confrontation, that was just a guess based on the previous tasks.

Early in the morning, Su Xiao went to Yukinori Shinohara’s office, since the other party had mentioned last night that he wanted to see him today.

”Have you had breakfast?”

Yukinori Shinohara stood up enthusiastically to greet Su Xiao.

Su Xiao was surprised; Yukinori Shinohara’s enthusiasm seemed a bit over the top.

”Not yet.”

”Then it’s perfect, let’s go to a nearby small shop, it’s quite good. Although the branch provides a nutritionally balanced breakfast, the taste is... not so good.”

Now Su Xiao could be sure the other party might have something to ask of him.

”It’s on me,” Yukinori Shinohara emphasized.

This time there’s no doubt, the other party has a favor to ask.

Su Xiao nodded and followed Yukinori Shinohara to a small shop.

The shop was small but bustling, already filled with many guests, and the aroma of the food awakened Su Xiao’s appetite, making his hunger emerge.

”Over here.”

Yukinori Shinohara found a four-person table and gestured for Su Xiao to sit opposite him, ordering several kinds of breakfast.

Once the breakfast was served, Su Xiao didn’t move, giving Yukinori Shinohara a meaningful look.

”Special Class Shinohara, this breakfast is unexpectedly sumptuous.”

Seeing that Su Xiao didn’t make any move, Yukinori Shinohara chuckled and gestured for Su Xiao not to be shy.

”Let’s eat first, she’ll be here soon.”

Su Xiao said nothing and began eating breakfast.

”Bai Ye, the ghoul expelled last night has been sent to headquarters. This time, headquarters made an exception to promote you to a second-level investigator. This is your new ID.”

Su Xiao put down the half-eaten pastry and took the ID.

[Tip: The Hunter has been promoted to Second-level Investigator, Contribution Points: 50/400.]

Su Xiao’s promotion didn’t require qualifications but required expelling more ghouls. For 400 contribution points, it would take expelling about two to three S-Level ghouls, which was obviously difficult.

To be promoted from first-grade investigator to first class, the difficulty was even higher.

Under normal circumstances, the main quest (2) shouldn’t be so hard.

Primarily because the CCG camp only had Su Xiao.

Normally, the CCG side would have about a dozen ordinary contractors, and each would need only about 30 contribution points to be promoted to First-grade Investigator.

But since Su Xiao was alone in a camp, all the tasks of a dozen people had to be completed by him, hence the high contribution demand.

Most places in District 14 were peaceful. The difficulty of Su Xiao hunting ghouls wasn’t low. If he were assigned to Zones 1 to 4, the task difficulty would drop significantly.

The ghouls in Zones 1 to 4 were very dense, reaching a point where ordinary people couldn’t survive.

The ghouls there relied on mutual cannibalism to survive, so there were many strong ghouls in these zones.

Under normal circumstances, S-level was the limit for ghouls. To continue growing stronger, mutual cannibalism was the only way to increase the concentration of Rc Cells.

D-Level ghouls are young ghouls. C Level ghouls can use Heko but are weaker in strength. B Level are ordinary ghouls hiding among humans. Level A are elites within ghoul forces. S Level are rare genius ghouls. After S, they rely solely on mutual cannibalism.

The strength of a ghoul isn’t built through training, but by eating—continuously devouring other similar beings.

Thinking of this, Su Xiao took a bite of the pastry in his hand.

”Sorry, I’m late.”

While Su Xiao was deep in thought, a slender beauty sat beside him.

Her pale yellow-blond hair was tied up, and dressed in a black women’s suit, it made her skin look particularly fair and tender. Black stockings highlighted her two sexy legs.

”Let me introduce, this is Maniwa Haruo, your subordinate in the future.”

Yukinori Shinohara looked at Su Xiao with a smile, as if saying how loyal he was by assigning such a beauty as his subordinate.

”I see, I have no objections, but...”

Su Xiao looked up, his eyes fixed intently on Yukinori Shinohara.

”She might soon die, I’m planning to head to high-density ghoul areas, like the West Street District.”

Hearing that Su Xiao had no intention of refusing, Yukinori Shinohara smiled, but hearing about the West Street District, his smile quickly vanished.

”West Street District? That’s a Shared Feed Area in District 14. The number of S-level ghouls there is unimaginable. Bai Ye, are you sure you want to go?”

”Yes.”

For anyone else, Yukinori Shinohara would not agree, but Su Xiao’s strength left him with nothing to say.

”Haruo, it looks like I need to find you a new supervisor.”

Yukinori Shinohara looked at Maniwa Haruo on the side.

”Special Class Shinohara, I’m fine. As a Ghoul Investigator, I’m fully prepared to face any situation, even if it’s West Street District.”

Maniwa Haruo sat straight, her voice very firm, and even glanced at Su Xiao.

”Knock, knock~.”

Yukinori Shinohara knocked lightly on the table with his finger, took out his phone from his pocket, and dialed.

The call was to Shimohira Washitsu. Yukinori Shinohara said just a few words and then hung up.

”This guy Washitsu~ Okay, you’ll temporarily follow Bai Ye. Even though both of you are second-level investigators, you must follow Bai Ye’s commands.

Bai Ye, when do you plan to head to West Street District?”

It seems Yukinori Shinohara also intends for Su Xiao to go to West Street District, where mutual cannibalism among ghouls is rampant and urgently needs clearing.

”I’ll go now, let’s go, Mascot.”

The ’Mascot’ Su Xiao referred to was Maniwa Haruo. Based on the original information, Maniwa Haruo’s abilities were average.

As for Haruo’s survival in the West Street District, it depended on fate.

Hearing the term ’Mascot’, Maniwa Haruo was stunned, pointing at herself in confusion.

Seeing this, Yukinori Shinohara could only smile helplessly and gestured for Maniwa Haruo to follow Su Xiao.

....

A black car traveled down the road, with Maniwa Haruo driving, while Su Xiao rested with his eyes closed in the passenger seat. They were on their way to West Street District.

”Associate Special Class Bai Ye, do you have any plans for West Street District? What do I need to do?”

Maniwa Haruo had a serious expression, sitting upright.

”When we reach West Street District, slash!”

This simple and brutal plan clearly startled Maniwa Haruo. The beautiful lady slammed the accelerator, nearly rear-ending the car in front, showcasing typical female driver instincts.

”Then~, what do I need to do?”

After calming her emotions, Maniwa Haruo posed her second question.

”Just be as pretty as a flower.”

Su Xiao’s calm demeanor stoked Maniwa Haruo’s anger.

”Ghouls won’t be lured by my looks!”

Su Xiao chuckled softly. The ’pretty as a flower’ comment was just offhanded and he didn’t seriously mean for her to entice anyone.

”Relax, you have a ’very important’ role. Without you, my ’plan’ would hardly succeed.”

Two seconds ago, Su Xiao thought of a plan.

Noticing Su Xiao’s gaze, Maniwa Haruo suddenly had the urge to turn around and flee.

”Then~, could you share your plan?”

Su Xiao tilted his mouth slightly, shaking his head. The other party’s combat effectiveness wasn’t great, but she could be used as bait to attract ghouls without a problem.

”I can’t. If you knew, it might affect the ’plan’.”

Maniwa Haruo felt bitter inside and, as if venting, stomped down hard on the gas pedal.

With Maniwa Haruo in anxious mood, the duo arrived at West Street District, the cruel Shared Feed Area.
