Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 42: Chapter 10

On the bustling street, cars flowed like a river, and the sound of car horns intertwined with the bustling pedestrians.

Su Xiao walked down the street, holding a map in his hand.

He had arrived in District 14. Although he wanted to visit the coffee shop called Anteiku, considering the strength of the shop manager, he temporarily chose to give up.

There’s no need to confront the manager for now. The manager is different from Takatsuki Sen. Although both are SSS level Ghouls, the manager’s combat skills are much stronger than Takatsuki Sen’s. However, due to age, the manager’s combat strength has declined.

Rather than seeking out the manager, it would be more convenient to drive out ghouls in District 14.

Soon, Su Xiao found the CCG Branch in District 14. Being a Third-class Investigator, he directly walked into the branch.

It was about 9 a.m., and the branch was filled with many investigators. Su Xiao’s unfamiliar face caught the attention of many investigators, who were very sensitive, a professional habit.

”Excuse me, where is Mr. Yukinori Shinohara?”

Su Xiao approached the reception desk, where a young female receptionist was stationed.

”Are you looking for Mr. Shinohara? May I ask who you are?”

The receptionist gave a professional smile, with a gentle attitude.

”I’m Bai Ye, the new Third-class Investigator, reporting here today.”

Su Xiao showed his credentials, handing them to the receptionist.

After verifying the documents, the receptionist made a phone call.

”Mister Bai Ye, hello, Mr. Shinohara is on the twelfth floor in his office. You’d better hurry, as Mr. Shinohara is about to go out.”

Su Xiao retrieved his credentials and took the elevator straight to the twelfth floor.

The head of the District 14 CCG Branch is First-Class Investigator Yukinori Shinohara. Su Xiao had seen him in the original work—a flat-headed middle-aged man, humble and easy to get along with.

”Knock, knock, knock~.”

”Come in.”

Su Xiao pushed open the office door. Inside, Yukinori Shinohara was organizing Kuingke, apparently preparing to go out.

”You’re early, Third-class Bai Ye.”

Yukinori Shinohara put down the Kuingke in his hand and sat behind the desk, gesturing for Su Xiao to sit, while Yukinori started looking for a file.

”Let me see, hmm~, found it, Bai Chuan’s family, 20 years old, trained in combat skills since childhood, with combat strength SSS+?”

Yukinori Shinohara shot a surprised glance at Su Xiao, then carefully checked the file in his hand. He suspected he had misread it. He had only heard that a very strong Third-class Investigator was being transferred, but did not expect the other’s combat strength to be SSS+.

It seems the identity of a Third-class Investigator misled Yukinori Shinohara’s judgment.

”Hello, Mr. Yukinori Shinohara.”

Yukinori Shinohara’s gaze was still shifting between Su Xiao and the file in his hand. It was hard for him to imagine that Su Xiao, with his not-so-robust physique, could have SSS+ combat strength.

”Hello, Third-class Bai Ye. However, a combat assessment is required before you officially take office.”

”No problem, when does it start?”

The main task (2) gives a full twenty days, allowing Su Xiao to relax his always-tense nerves a bit.

Judging by the difficulty of the Ghoul world, his current strength might not be the strongest but definitely not weak.

Being transported to a world of such moderate difficulty might be some intention of Reincarnation Paradise.

Reincarnation Paradise used the Pirate World to test if he was qualified to become a Hunter, and now the Ghoul World is a kind of reward from Reincarnation Paradise.

After Su Xiao posed the question, Yukinori Shinohara thought for a moment.

”How about now? We can conduct the assessment right here.”

After speaking, Yukinori Shinohara took off his suit jacket, waving his arms.

Su Xiao understood Yukinori Shinohara’s intention, wanting to spar with him. Seeing is believing.

”I’m coming.”

”Bring it on.”

Su Xiao’s gaze suddenly became sharp. Since it was a spar-type assessment, Yukinori Shinohara didn’t use a Kuingke, and Su Xiao didn’t use ”Zhan Long Flash”.

The office wasn’t large, and Su Xiao was already in front of Yukinori Shinohara within a few steps. His agility attribute, up to 13 points, made his figure somewhat hard to capture.

Yukinori Shinohara quickly raised his fists before him, as Su Xiao’s current momentum already made Yukinori Shinohara secretly startled.

Without further ado, Su Xiao punched towards Yukinori Shinohara’s forearm blocking in front.

”Bang.”

Involuntarily, Yukinori Shinohara stepped back two steps, feeling a swelling pain in his forearm.

”What a heavy punch.”

While Yukinori Shinohara retreated, Su Xiao repeatedly punched, hitting Yukinori Shinohara’s shoulders, forearms, and other spots.

But as a First-Class Investigator, Yukinori Shinohara was no pushover.

After taking several of Su Xiao’s punches, Yukinori Shinohara shouted, curling his muscular arm in an attempt to force Su Xiao back.

The two soon engaged in a circle, Su Xiao’s style was elegant and flexible, but every hit was powerful, while Yukinori Shinohara remained solid and steady, willing to take more hits to avoid exposing any vital spots.

”Bang, bang, bang~.”

The dull thuds of blows spread, both becoming more combative as the fight continued.

Su Xiao’s kick swished past Yukinori Shinohara’s chest, with Yukinori misstepping barely avoiding this sweeping kick.

Yukinori Shinohara avoided it, but Su Xiao’s kick shattered the corner of a nearby desk.

”Crack.” The desk corner was directly kicked off, causing the corner of Yukinori Shinohara’s mouth to twitch, but his fighting spirit only burned brighter.

To become a First-Class Investigator of the CCG, no coward can make it. Fighting powerful ghouls with flesh and blood requires immense courage.

After Su Xiao kicked off the desk corner, a sudden cry of pain sounded in the distance.

This cry interrupted Su Xiao and Yukinori Shinohara’s spar. Both looked towards the source of the sound.

What met Su Xiao’s eyes was a boy with a head full of white hair.

From appearance, this looked more like a girl, with a fair face, petite body, and somewhat androgynous attire.

”Tokaji, are you okay?”

Yukinori Shinohara walked up to the boy, looking concerned, the boy’s forehead had a bruise from being hit by the desk corner kicked by Su Xiao.

”I’m fine~, Mr. Shinohara, why did you stop? I haven’t watched enough yet.”

The visitor was named Shuuzou Suzuya, a subordinate of Yukinori Shinohara.

Or rather, Yukinori Shinohara wasn’t just Shuuzou Suzuya’s superior but also his guardian, taking care of his everyday life.

Shuuzou Suzuya, although feminine in appearance, was originally male, now of indeterminate gender.

He was raised by ghouls since childhood, cared for by a ghoul named Big Madam, an SS-level ghoul.

Big Madam had pedophile and sadistic tendencies. Shuuzou looked very much like a girl when he was young, but as he grew, his feminine features began to change.

This change was intolerable to Big Madam, so the ghoul brutally crushed Shuuzou’s *** to stop his male development, making him more feminine.

During a CCG raid, Shuuzou was unexpectedly rescued, leading to his becoming a Ghoul Investigator.

The misfortunes of childhood left Shuuzou Suzuya with an odd character, lazy, lacking basic cognition, a blend of masochism and sadism.

After checking Shuuzou Suzuya’s injury, Yukinori Shinohara found he was indeed unharmed.

”All good then. This is a new colleague, Bai Ye, say hello.”

Yukinori Shinohara stepped aside, motioning Shuuzou Suzuya to greet Su Xiao.

”Hello~, I’m Shuuzou Suzuya. Can I cut you?”

Such a peculiar greeting from Shuuzou Suzuya made Yukinori Shinohara somewhat resigned. The child bore no malice, just lacked common knowledge.

”Heh~, you little brat.”
