Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Initial Success

After returning to the Royal Capital, Su Xiao went directly to the Left Minister’s residence.

In the study, the Left Minister was inspecting those few Tiger Teeth.

”Hmm, yes, very good.” The Left Minister put away the Tiger Teeth and looked at Su Xiao meaningfully.

”I didn’t expect you could actually do it. Although that tiger isn’t very strong, it’s very difficult to hunt as it hides in Mount Corvo. You are more outstanding than your uncle, so you will replace him from now on.”

With just a few words, Su Xiao replaced the position of the black market merchant, showing how unfeeling this Left Minister is. The offerings the black market merchant gave him were already forgotten.

”The task has been completed, and I’m ready to take over the position of Leader of the Guards today. I wonder, Left Minister~.”

Su Xiao looked at the Left Minister. Knowing this old man’s cold nature, defaulting on his promise was not impossible.

”Leader of the Guards? What are you talking about? I never said...”

The Left Minister’s words abruptly stopped, and the cunning old eyes suddenly began to dim.

[The Left Minister violated the Reincarnation Paradise’s ordinance, forced correction by Reincarnation Paradise in progress...].

A cold voice appeared in Su Xiao’s ear; this was the first time he heard the voice of Reincarnation Paradise.

It was a mechanical sound, devoid of emotional fluctuation, revealing cruelty amidst the coldness.

After a very brief silence, the Left Minister continued, ”Since you have completed the task, the position of Leader of the Guards is yours. I will operate in the Royal Palace for you, and in an hour, you will be the current Leader of the Guards.”

The tone of the Left Minister was rigid and contradictory, causing the Guards behind him to be a bit puzzled.

Su Xiao carefully observed the Left Minister. The oddness of the opponent was undoubtedly related to Reincarnation Paradise.

Su Xiao had already guessed the Left Minister wouldn’t keep his promise. The reason he went to hunt the owner of Mount Corvo was entirely because Reincarnation Paradise issued a task.

Until now, although Reincarnation Paradise appeared very cold, devoid of emotional fluctuation, it never broke its word.

Cold and cruel, yet just, that is the impression Reincarnation Paradise gave to Su Xiao.

So Su Xiao also wanted to test what would happen if the Left Minister defaulted.

It should be known, his side task reward is the identity of ”Leader of the Guards.”

From the current situation, Reincarnation Paradise chose to directly control the Left Minister, forcibly giving the task reward.

As for what will happen to the Left Minister in the future, it’s hard to say; perhaps he might recover, or maybe he will become an idiot?

Furthermore, Su Xiao had previously puzzled over one issue: whether the Pirate World he was in was a real world or a world fabricated by Reincarnation Paradise.

If it were a world fabricated by Reincarnation Paradise, the Left Minister would be equivalent to an NPC and wouldn’t break promises.

From the current situation, it is highly likely this place is a real world. At least everything Su Xiao encountered was very real.

The so-called ”Derivative World” may just be derived from people’s fantasies, ultimately becoming a real world.

Leaving the Left Minister’s residence, Su Xiao began to ponder how to assassinate the King.

Although he is now the Leader of the Guards, this identity does not help him see the King, and even if he meets him, he can’t directly assassinate.

The King must be heavily guarded, and even if Su Xiao risked a one-in-ten-thousand chance of success in assassination, he’d still die.

Previously, Reincarnation Paradise gave a warning that if he dies in the Pirate World, he would die permanently, with no second chances.

It seems Su Xiao is in a predicament, but that’s not the case; he already has the capital to assassinate the King.

To successfully assassinate the King, two points are crucial. The first is infiltrating the Royal Palace, which Su Xiao has never been worried about.

The second point is to divert the guards around the King, which is the key point.

The guards around the King must be very strong. Under what circumstances can those bodyguards be drawn away?

That’s when there’s a strong enemy in the Royal Palace, and that strong enemy is likely to threaten the King’s safety, forcing the guards to take action.

And at that time, it will be the moment when Su Xiao makes his move.

As for the King’s own strength, Su Xiao is not worried. If the King were very strong, the possibility of completing the task would be too low. The main task difficulty couldn’t be only LV.3.

As for where to find a strong enemy threatening the King, it depends on the incineration of the Scrap End Station.

So he worked hard to acquire the identity of Leader of the Guards, simply to gain decision-making power during the incineration of the Scrap End Station.

Although the nobles of the Goa Kingdom do not regard the refugees outside the city as people, they will not entrust the incineration of the Scrap End Station to the Kingdom’s departments.

The reason is simple; it would tarnish the Kingdom’s image.

Thus, the incineration of the Scrap End Station will only be entrusted to some black forces, and the black forces in the Pirate World are nothing but the nearby sea pirates.

Several large pirate groups in the surrounding sea have received the news that the Goa Kingdom has a big deal. If done well, they could obtain a noble status.

The noble status is a deadly lure for desperadoes, and most people become pirates as a last resort.

So several pirate groups have already arrived in the waters near the Goa Kingdom, waiting for this opportunity.

And tonight, the Goa Kingdom will select one group from these pirate groups to burn the Scrap End Station tomorrow night.

The Guard Team, as the armed force within the Royal Capital, Su Xiao’s current identity is responsible for contacting and negotiating with those pirates.

If he utilizes his current identity well, there is definitely a chance to successfully assassinate the King.

According to the original plot, the King never intended to give those pirates noble status; he was just using them.

While Su Xiao was thinking, he had already returned to the guard headquarters.

Compared to the guard headquarters a day ago, it now appears to be a mess.

The guards on duty at the entrance have disappeared. After entering the guard headquarters, Su Xiao saw more than a dozen guards gambling in the lobby, and some even gathered together to drink.

The hall was filled with the smell of cheap tobacco, alcohol, and sweat.

There was no longer a boss here, and although Su Xiao was now the boss, he would not manage those guards.

He only needed the current identity; the state of the guard headquarters had nothing to do with him.

Arriving at Ou Ka’s former office, Su Xiao pushed the door open and entered.

There were three people in the office, namely Hank and Ou Ka’s two confidants.

Hank was sitting on the sofa, while Ou Ka’s two confidants stood on either side of Ou Ka’s chair. The three were in a standoff, but no one dared to sit on that chair.

Su Xiao entered the office, surprising the three.

Hank didn’t speak, but Ou Ka’s two confidants spoke.

”Is this the place you should come? Get out!”

Su Xiao’s eyelids drooped; he didn’t even look at them and directly sat on Ou Ka’s seat.

”You bastard! Is this a place you can sit? Who do you think you are...?”

One of Ou Ka’s confidants walked angrily towards Su Xiao.

”Get out; you’re not a guard anymore. You have one minute to disappear.”

Su Xiao still didn’t look at them; he was thinking about the next strategy. He didn’t want to waste time on this kind of riffraff.

Ou Ka’s confidant stood there in disbelief, then looked at Su Xiao with a cold sneer.

At that moment, the office door was pushed open, and a commander walked in, holding some documents.

”Mister Bai Ye, here is your appointment notice for Leader of the Guards and your identification.”

The Left Minister’s efficiency was faster than expected.

Ou Ka’s confidant was stunned, staring at Su Xiao dumbfounded.

”You two don’t need to leave anymore; just stay here forever.”

Su Xiao looked at Ou Ka’s two subordinates, and Hank, standing aside, rapidly considered his options and shouted.

”Everyone downstairs, come up and congratulate our new boss!”

Hank was very unwilling but had no choice; he didn’t dare openly resist the Kingdom’s orders.
